Came after my graduation. Awesome food and super friendly staff. Everyone’s dish was delicious and the food was full of flavor. Dirty wings and the brussel sprouts are AMAZING — A MUSTTRY. We definitely will be coming back!

Went here for lunch during Memorial Day. We intended to go for brunch-had called ahead and everything; misunderstanding I guess-but turns out they only have brunch on Sunday. We opted to stay for a regular lunch mean instead. Their wine and cocktails list is pretty full. Good selections. I had a Georgia Mule, which was pretty nice. I want to try out the Hudson Daiquiri next time. For food I got the BBQ pulled pork sliders. These were super good. I couldn’t finish all 3 and had to take one to-go. I also had the classic Mac & Cheese. It was baked with bread crumbs. Pretty good. A little on the pricier side, but it was worth it.

The cheddar grits and Brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing! The mac and cheese, fried pickle chips, and bread pudding were decent. Loud and dark. I gave it four stars just because the grits and sprouts were that good.

Good food and atmosphere in one of the prettiest towns in Westchester. My husband and I met up with some friends here on St. Paddy’s Day. The restaurant was pretty packed, as expected, and service was considerably slow that night. The food was well worth the wait, however. We all shared the Brussel sprouts appetizer with bacon and maple syrup. It was absolutely delicious! It’s definitely the kind of appetizer you want to share among a group because it can be somewhat greasy and heavy. It happened to be restaurant week when we went so my husband and I opted to order from the prix-fixe menu. I got the watercress and green apple salad, maple brined pork chop and bread pudding. Everything was so friggin good. The salad was crisp and yummy, the pork chop was juicy and flavorful and the bread pudding was mouth watering. My husband ordered the tomato soup, buttermilk fried chicken and flourless chocolate cake. It was all very tasty. The dark meat chicken was crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. I just wish it came with an actual side. It came with a grilled lemon and some maple dipping sauce that we didn’t try. All in all, I was very pleased with Cedar Street Grill. I would definitely go back since it’s in such a nice location and pretty close to our home in Woodlawn.

First time here for brunch with group of friends. We all chose the prix fix 26.95 brunch menu which includes unlimited mimosas bloody Mary’s or bellinis. We ordered the Mac n cheese and Brussels sprout starters which were excellent. Chicken and waffles were delicious, with the chicken super moist and crispy on outside. Comes with maple syrup and preserves in the side. Few people had steak and eggs which was very tender. No complaints anywhere. I’ll be coming back. Very laid back rustic atmosphere with variety of people

AMBIANCE: I really liked the interior of this restaurant. It was dimly lit, tables weren’t on top of each other and even at our table for two, I felt like we had enough room for everything. SERVICE: When we first arrived, we weren’t acknowledged by staff at all. This is a pet peeve of mine because I don’t think anyone likes standing awkwardly in the front of a restaurant waiting for someone to say ‘hi.’ However, it wasn’t too long and I quickly forgot about it once seated. It was restaurant week and we weren’t given restaurant week menus. It didn’t matter to me, as it worked out cheaper for us since neither of us wanted dessert, but I would imagine for others this may be an issue. FOOD: This was a mixed bag. The bread they brought to the table was good and so were the fried pickles. The breading was a little thicker than I’m used to, but the flavor was good and I really liked the dipping sauce. For entrees, my boyfriend got the cedar street burger, which was easily the best thing we ordered. I don’t even care for beef, but I’d order this. It was that good! I wish I could say the same about my fried chicken. first, for the amount they charge, I should be getting more than 3 pieces of chicken and a siracha honey hot sauce that didn’t taste like siracha or honey. a side would be nice? A little salad, some fries, something. I can deal with that if the chicken was amazing, but it wasn’t. It tasted like it was fried in old oil, the bottom of each piece was already soggy when it reached the table and the chicken itself was pretty basic, flavorless chicken. I ate the top layer of skin, wrestled some of the meat off of the bone and I was done. I may give this place one more shot because of the service and some of the food items, but I’m not rushing back either.

Nothing special about this place at all. The food is mediocre but the service is horrible. I called and made reservations and physically spoke to someone about my expectations and I was still so disappointed. Don’t waist your time. Go somewhere and get a worthy meal.

I came here with family while in town for a baby shower and had a really fun time here. We weren’t going to eat here initially but when we saw the burgers come out for some people eating at the bar next to us, we had to give it a shot. I went with the Hudson Valley Burger with sweet potato fries and it was great(the people next to us had the Cedar Street Burger which looked awesome). My father-in-law got the steak sandwich, which I was able to eat half of, and that was delicious too. The drinks(the initial reason we came) were good as well. There was a solid beer menu and the bartender was friendly and helpful. All in all we had a very good experience here. The fixed price, unlimited mimosa brunch looks incredible.

After moving offices to one of the River Towns from Manhattan, I am always on the prowl for great food spots and this place came up as taking reservations for lunch, the place I wanted to take my friend to didn’t do lunch, and another didn’t have reservation, so coming from NYC living of 20+years: I am not used to reservations, yet glad to make them. Sort of makes it feel like you are going to an event, the event of eating! Ha. Anyhow when I looked at their online menu prior to making a ressie, I was intrigued as it seemed way above average standard pub food, and I was right. While they have a great selections of beers and other spirits, the food stands up on its own and they support local farms. roasted brussels sprouts with almonds — possibly one of the best ones I ever had. and its a healthy portion. I was surprised. meat sliders — again I ordered from appetizer menu and expected very small portions. i got three sliders. quite a good size. and i didn’t finish as I also ordered the creamy potato soup. which was also larger than I had anticipated. great service, perhaps too attentive — is that such a thing. perhaps when you are discussing something of importance and water refills are done every three minutes. but I won’t complain :). Service was great! So was the food, can’t wait to go again and try other items on the menu.

I was pretty excited to try this place out, especially after considering the high number of positive reviews. The good: The atmosphere has a great vibe with a dimly lit interior that has a lot of wood and earthy tones which gives off very cozy feel. It’s a pretty decent place to go and hang out with a group because it isn’t too loud to hear everyone and the tables and layout are spacious enough to be comfortable. They also have a good beer selection and I thought their appetizers were pretty good. I really liked the mac and cheese, but the most notable appetizer were the Brussels sprouts, which were awesome! The bad: The food, on the other hand, really didn’t live up to my expectations. I mean, a $ 17 burger better be the best burger you’ve ever had, right? That was my reasoning, and I can’t see that being too unrealistic of an expectation. I asked for a medium rare cedar street burger and I got a medium well. It is what it is, I’m not going to be a jerk and waste food by sending it back. So I took a bite and it was OK, not great, not bad, but certainly not worth $ 17. I could have gone to Shake Shack, bought 3 single patty burgers, received a better product, and I still would have had money left over to throw into my 401(k). I tried the short rib as well and the grits were good, but the short rib itself was somewhat dry and bland. It wasn’t the worst, but it certainly wasn’t worth the price tag. Why does this place think they can get away with Manhattan pricing? The ugly: After my group and I finished our meals we stayed and chatted for a bit. I should also add that we weren’t loud or intoxicated. It was getting late in the evening and the restaurant was emptying out. I noticed we were one of the last seated tables, but we were still about 2 hours away from closing time so it’s not like we were taking valuable seating space or inconveniencing anyone. There were also still people sitting at the bar. Apparently, our server didn’t agree with that concept and kept staring us down from across the restaurant. Every time I looked up, I saw the flicker of his eyes in the dimly lit establishment, which gave me a chilly reminder of Frodo’s encounter with Gollum in Lord of The Rings. If he wanted us to leave so badly, he should have at least dropped off the check and not taken the passive aggressive route. Overall, no bueno. I don’t think I’d come back, even though the Brussels sprouts were amazing.

Returned for another brunch to try some more options. Tried and loved the pancakes, French toast and the hangover sliders. Disappointed with the burger because it was charred but everything else was perfect.

Overpriced, a hamburger is $ 17. and you can walk down to Sam’s Italian Restaurant and get a full entrée fit the similar amount that includes salad and bread, lol.

Nice ambience, great beer selection(Single Cut IPA), okay service, good wings, great and enormously-sized iceberg wedge. My buddy was killing me for not trying the burger, which is apparently world class, but I just wasn’t THAT hungry this time, as it looked to be a monstrous endeavor when I saw a server bringing one to another table. I’ll definitely be back to try it. With a great spot like this in Dobbs now, there’s no reason to frequent mediocre Doubleday’s anymore.

So I’m way overdue in writing a review for Cedar Street Grill, a Dobbs Ferry eatery and a town favorite. I’ve been coming here for well over a year, so it’s time to put a few words out there«on the line». Simply put, this is arguably THE best Bar & Grill in all of Westchester County! And I can honestly say that they make the BEST burgers and steaks anywhere. Yes, I said it. The best burger anywhere. A tall claim? Perhaps, but lets face it when you get a burger that’s nearly 5 inches tall from bun-to-bun and is juicy, perfectly seasoned, flavorful and stacked high with cheese, bacon, avocado and a very special house blend of garlic aioli, you have achieved something really, really special. I think Chef Matt Kay could give Bobby Flay a run for his money on this burger. Welcome a drive by from Guy Fieri too. Truly gourmet! Kudos to the Chef and Back-of-House team for pulling off the great eats! As for the rest of the experience, you can’t go wrong with the steaks(perfectly prepared and well seasoned), fish(always a delicious & fresh option on the board) and the unique wine and beer list, featuring some local favorites. On the team, I want to give a really special shout out to Chris Granville, who is just awesome! Always there for just the right recommendation whether it be for dinner or wine or dessert. And Joe Kay(the manager) and Kathy Kay(part owner with Joe and Matt, her sons)…well, you couldn’t ask for a better management team anywhere. They all take a genuine interest in their Town and their customers. It’s not just a business, they serve up delicious dishes with pride, warmth, grace and style. I could go on here, but if you’re in Dobbs Ferry, or making your way up the river out of Manhattan for the weekend, you’d be hard pressed to find a better dining option than Cedar Street Grill.

My hubby and I came here for lunch. It was a great place, glad we came. First, about the food: Dirty Chicken Wings — These are some solid wings. A nice kick. Good size wings! Mac & Cheese App — The mac & cheese part is pretty good, could be better if there was more breadcrumb toasted top. It was such a small amount of crumble, they may as well not bother. Sad to say, but I may as well buy President’s Choice Mac & Cheese and make it myself at home. Burger(the one with bacon) — This was amazing! My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed. It was huge. One thing: some pieces of bacon were too tough for my teeth, some pieces were nice and crunchy. Prices were reasonable. Our server was very nice. My husband and I sat outside. It would have been 100% lovely except a car parked right by our table was left running from the moment we got our drinks and throughout the entire meal. Still running after we left. I think it was a produce delivery guy or someone affiliated with the restaurant bc I saw him come out of the restaurant, get stuff from his trunk, and go back inside. The nonstop noise and heat from the engine running was a nuisance, not to mention, bad for the environment. For this reason, I’m knocking off a star. Otherwise this review would have been 4⁄5.

The menu for CSG is very appealing. Skimming through it, one might have the urge to order everything– fried clam strips, BLT sliders, crispy brussels sprouts with honey and almonds, corn on the cob rolled in funyuns(!), etc. I ended up with the fried clam strips as an app. My favorites up to this point — and I’m emphasizing clam strips, not whole bellies because we are talking apples and oranges– were at Greasy Nick’s in Pelham. Well sorry Mr. Nick, you have been replaced. Because these bad boys here are absolutely astoundingly delicious. The batter and the seasoning elevate these things to a level of otherworldliness. I am shocked that there aren’t more comments about them on here. My entrée was a fried green tomato/bacon/and arugula BLT with remoulade on brioche. I very nice take on the classic and I appreciated the use of brioche. My wife had the fried clam po boy which I will be going with next time, as it is made with those same awesome ocean dwellers as in my appetizer. I have to wonder if the chef is from the South because there are some southern staples on the menu but not enough to make it too obvious– but the po boys and the fried green tomatoes come to mind. The beer and cocktail list is solid and the décor is nice, reminds me a little of Harpers a few blocks away. Service was good when I went for lunch service. I definite winner.

Ambience ok, clean, attentive waiter. High prices for the mediocre food. Small portions. But when the food is mediocre who wants to eat it.
