Steak N Shake

I stopped by one morning around 11 o’clock and ordered a steak burger with fries. After getting back home I went through the drive-​thru, the fries seem like they had been yesterday’s fries.
I called the number on the back and I got some I guess corporate number for doing a review. They took my information and said they would have the manager call me that was on a Friday Thursday or Friday I think. That following Sunday someone call but didn’t leave a message and after checking I found out it was from Steak and Shake this I guess the store manager. He never called back again and I finally called the number and it must have been at his home and evidently his son answered and put me on hold forever so I just finally hung up.
I guess he’s not concerned about his customer service but I know I will never purchase anything at that Steak and Shake on Bill Harp Road in Douglasville ever again!

Waited at the Host/​Hostess stand longer than expected for a half empty restaurant. When we asked for a different table in a less crowded section that was already clean, the host seemed put off by request.
Order taken in reasonable amount of time and arrived timely.
We had the typical Steak & Shake fair. Garlic Double, Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Chocolate Shake. Everything was as expected and to order.
Server disappeared for awhile when we were looking for to-​go drinks. Ultimately had to approach register to pay and ask for the to-​go cups/​refills.

I will never eat at this Steak and Shake again. It was the worst service ever and the staff couldn’t have been more rude. We waited for close to 30 minutes for our food because our waitress disappeared to the restroom and left our food sitting on the counter, she never asked to refill our drinks, and we couldn’t get needed condiments because she never came to check on us. We also never received our milkshakes that we went to the counter and asked for 30 minutes before we left. The restaurant was not busy and they had adequate staff behind the counter. There is really no excuse for terrible service… eye rolling and rude attitudes are completely unacceptable.

Seated fairly quickly, but waited nearly 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drinks orders. Food yummy as always! Bathrooms were a disaster!

This place is awesome… the staff works really hard and always happy to help the guest.

Came here this afternoon for half price shakes and a snack. This Steak and Shake location is right next to Popeyes on the busy highway 5.
This place is pretty busy for a weekday afternoon but probably because of the half price shakes. The shakes are usually 3 dollars but you can get them for a dollar fifty during happy hour.(2−4pm weekdays)
The ordering guy or girl was nice. He or she gave us time to chooses what we wanted and he or she was polite. We got to vanilla shakes and a chicken tender 4 $ meal. Something that makes steak and shake stand out is their variety of fries. They have multiple varieties but I settled for the Parmesan fries.
The food was decent. The shakes were harder to eat then other shakes I’ve had but once you could actually taste it it was pretty good. The chicken tenders were a little better than the generic kind but still not really great. The fries were pretty thin in cut and were sprinkled with herbs and Parmesan powder. For French fries I have to say pretty good. the meal only came with three measly little chicken tenders so it’s more a snack then a meal
We had a some chicken tenders, fries and two shakes for around seven dollars. Not a bad deal i would say.

I don’t know if it’s the way Steak and Shakes are in GA or what, but this is the very last one I’ll be coming to ever again.
Not only is the service slow in every single establishment here in Atlanta, but each place has SOMETHING that has made one of us sick.
First the shakes in Tucker, then the burgers in Dekalb county, now the cheese fries in Douglasville. I told my husband not to eat them, that they smelled like puke. Like spoiled dairy.
Steak and Shake obviously gave us poison to eat, for lack of better comparison. Really, it smelled of steaming vomit the moment I opened the container. Blech!
Not only that but the guy running the drive thru was high as a kite. He was causing a serious amount of traffic and we were in line waiting for him to take and fulfill just two other people’s orders. And it wasn’t as if they weren’t fully staffed late on a Saturday night, so what was the hold up besides the red eyed stoner?
Sigh, I hate wasting money. And steak and shake is the ultimate waste of money here. I’ll continue to go to Sonic for my late night junk food needs.

I was the second person at the drive thru and I waited almost 15 minutes. When I passed the windows to the restaurant, it was ¾ empty due to the fact that it was pouring rain outside. I ordered onion rings instead of fries and that seemed to be a major crisis for the take out guy in the window. Then to totally blow their minds I tried to pay with the app on my phone. The guy in the window apologized and said he was new. Maybe the 5 – 6 servers I saw standing around taking in the restaurant could have been helping. Probably wouldn’t have made much of a difference though. I like Steak and Shake, but this is one of the worst ones to come to.

Horrible drive thru service, stuck in the line for 15 – 20 minutes, slow, slow. Menu says breakfast is served from 12am, I requested a breakfast item at 12:15am and was told breakfast wasn’t being served yet, something about a change in shift and no one there to cook the breakfast items… then that’s false advertising, take that off your food sign then!

Terrible experiences occur here. I’m frustrated by the lack of attention to detail by this chains drive through window. Not on one occasion but multiple times.
They consistently overlook details to orders, make meals wrong and leave things off of the order. I’m sitting in their parking lot contemplating going back in for a second time to try and rectify the order, but I think it’s time to write a review and attempt to eat my now cold (and completely wrong order.)
Just pay attention drive through attendant! It’s easy!

What a shame !
We ate breakfast here last weekend and it was Spot On !
Today not so much .
I ordered the skillet with hamburger patties, chili, hash browns and eggs.
I asked them to hold the chili.
So she delivered my skillet with burnt hash browns, cold dried out hamburger patties, and NO EGGS ! When she brought the eggs they were not over easy as ordered but had crusty dry whites .
Very disappointed ! My husband said we will not go back

Very slow service, not clean and salad
was not prepared with the ingredients listed on the menu. The shake was good and our server was nice!

This is the nastiest stake & shake I have ever been in. When we walked in the host half clean the table stuff was all in the seats when asked her to give me something to clean the table she gave me some napkins really, the floor was also not clean trash was on the floor. I will never return

Always fast and friendly. They took the veggie melt off the menu, however our waitress kindly had it made. Good job!

I’ve never tried Steak N Shake before (they barely opened one up in Santa Monica, California) & so after a few hours at Mojobas — my grandparents decided to come here for lunch. I was beyond excited because my aunt use to work at a Steak N Shake & she’s always talked about it.
The menu was a little bit overwhelming because everything looked amazing but I settled with a chili cheese dog. My brother got some sort of steak-​bacon burger and chicken tenders as well. Everything was pretty delicious. Very similar to Johnny Rockets (but much better prices here) We also got shakes to-​go. I got a chocolate vanilla shake (it was almost as good as in-​n-​out) & my brother got a cookies & cream shake. He liked his a lot.
I’ll definitely make it a point to try the one near me in California once I go home.

Absolutely awful. The quality of the food is pretty standard with other locations I’ve been too, but I was floored by 1) the fact my food came out before my drinks 2) that the kitchen had «ran out of glasses» so my watery milkshake came out in a to-​go cup and 3) that getting any attention from the wait staff is practically impossible. Horrid. This is below sub-​par even for a Steak ‘N Shake. Never coming here again.

Service is horrible. Orders are always wrong and there is at least a 20 wait time in drive through

We’ve been twice since it opened. Both times, our wait for food was terrible! Over 20 minutes for drinks to arrive after ordering and 45 for food! The 1^st time we went was within a month or so of opening, so we chalked that visit up to them still working out kinks. But this last visit, there was no excuse. There were only 3 waitresses, but there was 7, yes 7, people in the kitchen including a manager. Bottom line, they treat drive thru customers as a priority over dine in customers to a level that is insane. We will wait a few months and give them one last shot, but 3 times and that’s it. Word of advice to the owner, GET A NEW MANAGER. Your employees are clearly unhappy and care nothing about your customers. Unless your morale and your service improve, you won’t be open much longer.

For a «burger joint» I was very pleased and impressed. My husband and I were driving back to Alabama after the Honda Battle of the Bands at the Georgia Dome, and we decided to stop at this Steak&Shake for a quick dinner. After seeing the large crowd we decided just to run through the drive thru and eat in the car. Of course, after we got our food we realized that we. could have just gone in, they had more seating than we thought. I also noticed that, despite being extremely busy, we didn’t have an overly long wait, our food was still well prepared, and the staff was extremely pleasant, quick, and accommodating.
Oh… and the shakes… just yum!

They sent some coupons in the mail I decided to try out some of the breakfast tacos they had buy one get one free. So when I get there, they are closed. They do not serve breakfast… open at 10.
They are now open 24 hours and have breakfast. Not bad.
