Great place haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Great service too. Not sure why people give bad reviews

Pag’s has a romantic atmosphere and is located in the heart of Doylestown. The food is fresh, authentic and delicious. This is the place to go to if you want a relaxing dining experience. If you are short on time and want to get in and out, this is not your spot. The pasta is über fresh and the meals are homemade. They also have a wood burning pizza oven. My husband and I have had many a delicious meal here. We often share the parmigiana cheese and arugula salad with a bottle of Chianti. The espresso is really good too. Outdoor dining is available in the warm weather.

Went here yesterday for lunch to celebrate my birthday this coming week. We started with the Caprese Salad(yum) and moved on to pizza(I got the white pie, my boyfriend had the margarita). The waitress said I could customize it as I would like but denied my request for spinach, in place of it was arugala, and the cook put unwanted zuchinni slices on the pie. I also asked for ricotta cheese but I’m really not sure if it was on it, if it was, it was not as prominent as I would have liked. Both were personal size and were still delicious and authentic. After finishing our pizzas, we realized our second appetizer we ordered, the crostinis, never came. When we asked the first time, one of the three workers that had served our table responded that they should be coming up shortly. When we asked again, another worker told us that the waitress that took our order had forgotten to tell us they ran out. Would have been nice to know so we weren’t expecting it for the entire meal but glad it worked out because we weren’t hungry after the caprese and pizza anyways. Surprisingly, the facility seemed understaffed, even though we were the only table there. I think Paganini’s should switch their«one slice of bread per person» to just a basket of bread for the whole table. C’mon, it’s an italian restaurant! Overall Paganini’s was relaxing and tasty with a beautiful view of Doylestown. I would like to go for dinner on a nice day in the future so I can sit outside.

I have eaten here 4 times and only come back for the delicious homemade spaghetti. Service is terrible from the walk in the door– wait for hostess takes forever, it takes 15 – 20 minutes for the wait staff to introduce themselves and take your drink order, tracking down your check after an hour and a half meal takes forever. Only positives to the staff are the young table bussers. Each time they have gotten my forgotten bread, refilled my drinks and gotten me the check after asking the wait staff 3 and 4 times! Sat near the kitchen and someone was clearly smoking a cigarette in the kitchen! Consider just ordering takeout!

Enjoyed both specials on Monday night. We had the rabbit pasta special and the red beet pasta special. Absolutely Excellent. The only place in Doylestown that offers fresh pasta and delicious homemade sauces and a wine list to match. Great service in a European setting. VH

I went to Paganini’s this week for a professional group meeting. There were 40 – 50 of us and were setup in the second floor area. Besides the fact that it was a poor location choice, the service was completely disorganized!!! It took 2.5 hours for dinner to be served. Maybe the restaurant is fine, but I’d never consider Pag’s for an event.

Atmosphere was great. But you definitely sacrifice quality. I ordered sausage with a mushroom sauce, not only did we all wait patiently for our food for an hour plus, but the dish came out cold and barely had any flavor. I would give zero stars if I could. Take the time to search for a better restaurant.

Beautiful building. That’s where it ends. This place is over priced and food was less than exceptional. Went with my wife and son. We ordered drinks. I had a draft Peroni at close to $ 7 a glass… which comes out to about $ 850 per barrel, retail. Had a bowl of «shredded» crab soup. I think they forgot the crab! Worst soup I’ve ever had in the U.S.(Had worse in Ireland). For my entrée I ordered the Gramigna Con Salsiccia. Was like thinned out Kraft Mac and cheese with a tablespoon of ground up tasteless sausage mixed in. My wife and son ordered Culingiones Al Forno and liked its«unique flavoring». But did not enjoy the tomato mozzarella salad. We were also shocked to find charges for refills of soda. The desert menu was not appealing. Just as well, we didn’t drive our Brinks truck to the restaurant. Won’t go back!

This restaurant was a disappointment from start to finish. We had an early reservation on New Year’s Eve. The building is lovely, and that is probably the nicest thing you can say about this place. We were seated in the porch area, where there was a space heater located but not turned on. It was drafty. We each ordered, and appetizers for the table to share. The soups were hot but flavorless. The two people who had the shredded crab soup were hard pressed to locate any crab. The caprese salad had lovely tomatoes(especially for December), but the fresh mozzarella had an odd consistency and no flavor. The prosciutto appetizer was the best appetizer that we ordered, although for the price there was hardly any meat on the plate. I see other comments about the bread. We have never eaten at an Italian restaurant where the bread was served by the slice. Finer restaurants serve rolls out of a basket, but they come by and ask for replacements, plus, this was ordinary loaf Italian bread. And when we asked for a second piece to accompany our soup, it was obviously an inconvenience. The entrees were OK. The eggplant parm was the best, but oddly came without an accompaniment of pasta. The stuffed pasta had an oddly sweet filling, but the pasta was fresh, which made it tolerable. And the lasagna was tasty but very small. We ordered desserts and coffee, which were satisfactory. Our main server was OK, but after he took our wine and meal order, we didn’t see him again. Our entrees took a long time(longer than what we had been warned about for the eggplant parm to be prepared, as it is prepared fresh). By the time our entrees arrived, there were several people in the restaurant, and it was extremely noisy. So, we get the bill, and it seems oddly high(over $ 200 for two adults and a teenage girl). Aside from the charges for EVERY refill of soda for our teenager, we finally realized that they added a 20% tip(unidentified as such) into the written total on the bill(for a party of three!). So, when our credit card is run, and the slip is presented to us, the total run is for the full amount, and the tip line is blank. Someone other than our server stopped by and asked how our meal was, and when we started to ask about the tip, she casually said that the tip had already been added for our convenience that evening, because it was going to be busy.(not sure that WE were too busy to add our own tip, but whatever). It was pretty obvious that someone noticed us reviewing the bill. Needless to say, we didn’t leave any additional tip(and we are usually in the 25−30% range when we round up to whole numbers). I know that some places include tips on holidays, but it should have been either written or stated, and the generic way the bill was written up, it was misleading, at the least. As we were leaving, we asked another manager-looking employee at the hostess station about the tips, and were told that tips were only included for large parties. I don’t know what to believe, but between the small portions, the below average quality, so-so service, and the relatively high prices for what you get, I can’t recommend this place at all. There are too many other options(Italian and otherwise) in the area to go here.

Four of us went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday on 12÷12÷15. The service was better than I’ve had on previous visits(my only complaint about this great restaurant in the past). Our waitress was friendly, helpful and timely. We ordered a bottle of the Malbec she recommended and it was outstanding. Three of us had pasta dishes and one person had salmon. We all agreed our meals were spectacular. I had the spaghetti carbonara and it was exceptional. We’ll definitely be back. One note to management: the kid who brought us bread needs to also offer butter or olive oil. When he eventually circled back and we asked for butter, he said«oh, yeah, sure» and immediately pulled the butter from the basket he’d had the bread in so clearly it was available on the first round. The lesson here is to work with younger staff on customer service. Great restaurant overall. The food is spectacular with a nice, Italian restaurant vibe in a great location.

This is one of those reviews that I really hope the restaurant actually reads and takes into account, because there are things that we really love about Paganini and things that they really can improve to make the experience better. The Good: The pasta is fresh and delicious — I LOVE the puttanesca sauce & fresh herbs The bread and olives are a nice touch They have some reasonably priced bottles of wine The location is good if you get a good table The Not So Good: The past few times we have been, the service has been downright awful The waiter was so clueless, it was almost painful. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and were kind and understanding, but it certainly clouded our experience The tables are way too small!

We have enjoyed the wine bar and pub many times across the street, but this was the first time visiting the restaurant. We visited on a Saturday night for our daughter’s birthday. The restaurant layout is very unique offering multiple levels and the opportunity to sit outside when the weather is nice. The service was good as our servers were very attentive, and the staff made our daughter’s birthday special. The server let us know that certain dishes take longer to prepare, but to be honest it didn’t take that long. The food was good overall. We had a special tomato/mozzarella appetizer which was ok but on the small side. All four of us had pasta, and each dish was enjoyed(even the kids really liked their meals). The portions are small, and there is no kids menu. Having to order adult meals for the kids was fine, but it does drive up the cost for a family. Overall, it was a good experience, and we will be back in the future.

Went on a double date here last night with a coworker and her boyfriend and wanted to go somewhere nice and new for everyone. We dined outside and enjoyed the atmosphere and our pasta. Our server was patient as we took some time to peruse the menu. Also the bat managed to pull off a solid greyhound for my coworker even though they weren’t familiar with it. When my coworkers boyfriend wanted a side of pasta with his veal, they were more than willing to provide any combination of sauce and pasta available. On the other hand our aged parmesan cheese appetizer which was small, unspectacular and in need of a starch vessel. Also our bread didn’t arrive until we had finished our appetizer. In addition, after our main courses arrived the waiter disappeared for the rest of the evening. All in all I would come back again and give Paganini another try. It was a solid dining experience and we all enjoyed ourselves. However with such a limited menu for an Italian restaurant we’ll have to be in a particular mood when the time comes.

READ full story! DONOTGOTHERE! Period! Ignorant, slow, and unprofessional service. Smallest tables your food plates won’t fit on them, half a plate will hang off table! Horribly designed and uncomfortable seating. Food is below average. Overpriced as well! They charge you 18% gratuity so they don’t have to care how they treat you and serve you!!! Our party of 10 was completely dissatisfied! We paid for our food but we only left 15% tip although they did not deserve any gratuity and we wish we never went to this place EVER!!! The other family that was with us left right away and on our way out my family got harassed and humiliated by an owner or manager of the place who disgracefully and distastefully yelled and cursed at us with so much anger that we didn’t pay full tip amount. He didn’t care our service was TERRIBLE! He discriminated us in front of his employees. He asked us «where are you from? Go back to your country!!» He exclaimed! We said we will never go back here, he said«oh I don’t want you to come back!!» He also, threatened us with a police! We said call we are not scared. We were there with two little kids HEDIDNTCARE!!! He said«I don’t give s shit, what am I supposed to do now!!» Go train your employees and get a degree in college to make better food and stop being such an ANGRY and CHEAP person. If I can even call him a person after all that. He yelled you didn’t pay! So I responded to his evilness«God Bless you and God knows I paid» I paid $ 10tip for a $ 39 lunch. So like 26% from myself. While the pasta was delicious the tables were too small, crowded together, poor service, and why in the world would an Italian restaurant serve a caprese salad in August with waxy cold store bought tomatoes??? Dang!

I had the opportunity to meet friends in Doylestown and made reservations for the four of us last weekend at Paganini Ristorante. Both my friend and boyfriend come from Italian families and I thought they would appreciate an authentic Italian meal in such a seemingly charming place. The short story is this: It is a great location with a beautiful outdoor area and the food that we ordered was good. However, our entire experience was basically ruined by the very long wait for food, and the fact that even though we ordered drinks and appetizers and were very patient with the service, we were asked to leave IMMEDIATELY after we signed off on the bill so that the restaurant could give our table to «other guests». Nevermind that there were empty tables, both inside and out when we left, or that a «Reserved» sign had been pulled from a 4-table configuration beside us, OR that there were absolutely no groups waiting at the door to be seated. The waitress apologized and said that she didn’t know how to ask us to leave, but Saturday was busy and they needed our table. So, whoever made the decision to give us the boot apparently doesn’t need to worry about repeat business because none of us will ever come back.

I was in Bucks in June and sat with a friend outside at this place, which looks great on paper: homemade pasta, nice outdoor seating, lots of daily specials, and a liquor license. Unfortunately, looks are deceiving. The inattentive and forgetful service needs serious help here. It’s not all on them, though – these folks need a decent training or manager because it’s clear that they’re pretty clueless and there isn’t an organizing presence behind them. The food, I suppose for the area – is fine, but really a mixed bag. I’m on the other side of the country, but I recognize the burbs and what passes for acceptable there. For the prices they charge and as long as they’ve been around, one would expect a better experience(but you don’t have a lot of options in this town if you’re used to good(quality) food at reasonable rates).

Went for dinner after a movie at the County Theatre. Decided on Paganini by chance simply because everywhere else on the block was loud and crowded due to an A-Day pub crawl. The restaurant was busy but the wait wasn’t long. We were seated at a small table where we could watch the pizza maker prepare the daily selection of made to order pizza. The menu had plenty to offer but not so much to be overwhelming. The waiter’s recital of the long list of daily specials was impressive. We were able to hear him recite it to the table next to us and didn’t make him repeat. We were catered to by 3 different servers who refreshed our drinks and fresh baked bread repeatedly. One energetic server had a song and goofy noises for everything he brought to the table. I’ll admit it was corny BUT entertaining. We enjoyed the humor he brought to the experience. Amy hasn’t enjoyed or finished a meal at the last few restaurants we’ve visited. She ordered the pasta special with capers and rants. She loved the dish and finished it along with a second round of bread to soak up the delicious and very light sauce. I had the pizza white pie with zucchini. It was also delicious. I also had the potato leek soup and loved it. Everything was fresh. I was disappointed that my first choice of eggplant parm would have been a 30 minute wait ONLY because I was hungry. I did appreciate that the wait meant that it was prepared fresh to order and will go back and try it. The price was reasonable with entrees in the $ 15 range. All things said it was a great meal and experience. We will go back.

So so yummy Italian food! They are always bringing bread to the table and they have many waiters around asking if you need anything. We’ve been there a bunch of times now and it’s always lovely to sit outside and watch people and pups walking by. Great location and delicious Italian food! We will be back with our dogs to sit outside again this summer :)

Well, after reading the previous reviews of Pag’s, where do I begin? I suppose I can start with our intentions… and our intentions were to eat at 86 West across the street but they were a 40 minute wait on New Year’s Eve Eve. Stopped next door to the Knight House and that was a 20 minute wait, so we ventured across the street to Pag’s and they sat us right away. Was this a testament to their reputation or luck, the night would quickly prove that it was in our favor/fate that we ended up here. Party of four, we were sat downstairs in the glass room patio area. Nice and cozy and greeted by our very pleasant waitress. She was attentive and knowledgeable and took great care of us. Yes, we had a bit of a wait for our entrees, but she did inform us they had a party of 50 upstairs and only three cooks in the kitchen, so at least there was open communication about the wait and that always helps rather than leaving one in the dark. Food was great! From the spicy crab soup(which was tomato based) the potato and leek soup, caprese salads to our entrees, all was piping hot, full of flavor and presented well. The clean line between my pasta and the white plate was quite exceptional. Someone takes care of their presentations in the kitchen despite cooking for 50, bravo! My only small gripe of the evening was the fellow serving bread. I don’t believe he took good care to rid himself of the odor of the cigarette he had during his shift and it was quite pungent when he came round for a second helping of bread. One should never deter the patron of an appetite. Friends have raved about this place, the homemade pasta was great and others have raved about the layout and I agree with them all. We will be back, I definitely want to try the outdoor garden area in warm weather.
