ServiceMaster called me the very next day after my initial review. I was very impressed with their customer service and willingness to fix the problem. They came out the next day and recleaned my carpet. I really appreciate that kind of service. Thank you!

Highly unprofessional. They promise to email a document so I can sign to start work – I am the home owner 3000 miles away, renters cannot and should not sign. They promise to call before the come. They show up without calling ahead. They show up with a piece of paper for me to sign – I am 3k miles away. They cannot work without the paper signed. They seem to not be able or willing to email it to me though they say they will. They call me to ask for a credit card for the deposit before they will start work. I say«Great! Send me something like an invoice/something on paper to let me know what I am giving my credit card for and we can get this going!» He says: we don’t work like that.(What kind of crazy person would just say: here’s my credit card info, I don’t need to see anything in writing.) I say«I’d like to speak to a manager.» He says«Sure, but he’s not in until Monday» This is Saturday and the basement is sitting in water, rotting every minute. I say«Goodbye» and call ServPro. They’re professional, send me documents over email right away explaining everything, put me on the calendar quickly(lots of flood damage in the area, so we do have to wait a bit, but not much), take a deposit and agree to bill the insurance company directly. Use ServPro.

I needed to write this due to my horrible experience with this company. I have never had water in my basement, so after calling my insurance company I called ServiceMaster based on their recommendations. Yes it had rained alot, and I’m sure they were very busy, but I don’t believe that should warrant horrible customer service. It took over two hours for them to call me back, and when they did they told me they didn’t care who was my insurance company, if I didn’t have a claim number they would give me an estimate and get payment upfront. OK, I needed to get the water out and have wet carpet removed. They promised to come the next afternoon or evening. I frantically cleaned up as much as I could, and waited all the next day. I got a claim number from my insurance company, and called them with the number. At 4:45 pm they called to say they could either come at 12am, or 9am the next day. By then, I couldn’t call ServPro, who had promised they would come out that afternoon if needed. So, the next day at 9:40 am a crew showed up. After taking ½ hour to write up an estimate, the price was 4k! There were so many charges on there I had them break it down for me. There was $ 1700 for equipment rental and moisture readings. I told them no on that, and got the price down to $ 2200 for carpet removal and anti-microbial spray. The guy recommended I do a moisture check in three days for $ 188. I said fine, and they got to work. By now, the water had done as much damage as it could, having sat there for two days. The next day,(Saturday) they called to set up an appointment for the moisture check for Monday between 11 – 1. I agreed, having that day off. I waited and waited– and no show. I called the company, and they said I wasn’t on their schedule, and could they come out the next day. I explained I worked and couldn’t be there, that it was my daughters birthday, I had missed lunch with her, and it was my day off, that they had called me to set up the appointment and I was very upset they didn’t show. He told me to not raise my voice and he would have me talk to his general manager! I was upset — but had not raised my voice! So he put me on hold for 10 minutes, then came back on the phone and asked if I would be home. I told him I was home, waiting for them to show up. He said he could get someone out there between 4 and 6pm, and that he didn’t know why I needed a moisture check since I didn’t have their equipment! I agreed totally with him, declined his offer, and told him to refund my money, and that I wanted my detailed invoice regarding their charges. He had to call me back to get the amount paid for the«moisture check». I again told him I didn’t have an invoice, but recalled it was $ 188. I understand how busy a company like this can be after a deluge of rain, but I cannot believe how unprofessional this company is, and I felt they tried to rip me off when I was at their mercy. The good news is, my insurance complany is aware of what their charges were, and how unreliable they were in showing up as promised. And I’m not sure they should have charged my credit card, as I do have a claim number, and an adjuster is coming out. I would never recommend this company in an emergency or under any circumstances.

Yes, this company gets the top marks. I had several spots that I was sure they could not clean and some had chain saw oil. They got it out and now my carpet has a new look. I have used them before and they were great and some others which were A little ess expensive. I will never use another company again to cean my carpets and really, they do have the best prices for the quality of theirwork.

The ServiceMaster crew did a fantastic job. They buffed out my hardwood floors, cleaned the grout on my tile floor, and cleaned my basement steps. They were very quick and everything turned out great. I would definitely recommend them!
