Intrex Computers

In the Durham-​Chapel Hill area this is THE ONLY place to go for miscellaneous computer parts as of end of year 2015!
The Durham and Chapel Hill Intrex stores have just combined and moved to a new store in Patterson Place, mid way between the two old store location. Though those of us in Chapel Hill really miss the ability to stop by the old location, we are thrilled to have Intrex maintain a store on the border between Chapel Hill and Durham!
Since moving to Chapel Hill 20 years ago, I and the companies and organizations I’ve worked with have frequently sought those miscellaneous storage, network, and power supply parts from Intrex that the big box stores don’t stock. The products stocked are also at very competitive prices to online retailers! I appreciate the assistance Intrex staff have lent over the years and refer many of our customers to Intrex for Small Office Home Office (SOHO) Windows, Linux, network, and storage gear & repair!

— wish there were more stores closer to Alamance County makers! Must go to Southern Durham or Greensboro

We brought my laptop to Intrex because it was a fairly new Lenovo and still under warranty when the keyboard went bad.
It took 2 months for Lenovo to release the part we needed, no fault of Intrex. The folks at Intrex were very friendly when I called to ask for updates.
They did not call us when the laptop was ready, we had to call them. That was the one part of the process that I would have changed. Otherwise, I’m very happy with their friendly service.

This is a great place for experienced computer users that like to build their own systems or fix them. They have a repair service, but like most small places like this you can’t expect to get the same thing as getting a pre-​built computer repaired by the manufacturer.

My laptop fan broke and was off-​warranty and this place was recommended by school’s tech support. Intrex assured me that the repair would not take longer than a week. It ended up taking 3 weeks and was a total disaster. The price also ended up being about $ 50 more than what was quoted. I would not recommend this place for computer repair.
