Fantastic selection with a number of mix and match options. This is the first gelato place I’ve ever been to, and sells some of the best I’ve ever had.

The ice cream was pretty bland. It was missing a kick of flavor to it. I’ve had better, but I must say that the employees were very nice! I probably wouldn’t buy ice cream from here again. Maybe try something else on the menu instead.

One of the best gelatos in the twin cities/south of the river The flavors are unique and spot on. They are open relatively late too, so that is nice for summers. Always friendly staff and ice cream treats to go, made in house!

Probably not the best ice cream in the Twin Cities, but undoubtedly the best place for dessert in the South suburbs. Don’t let its location in a suburban strip mall fool you. This is a family run business that makes all flavors of ice cream and gelato in-store. I recommend Stracciatella gelato… affogato style if you need a little caffeine kick. There’s not a lot that I would recommend in Eagan, but Ring Mountain is a shining exception.

Great assortment of ice cream, sorbet, and gelatos. The display of these goodies was fantastic, so many delicious choices. To try an assortment, as recommended on Prior Unilocal postings, we ordered the Five Peaks. The cappuccino ice cream was my favorite. The creamery café has a live music schedule. They also serve sandwiches and other food items. This is a nice place to take your family. It is located right behind the Eagan Theatre. I would have given them a five star rating if the portions would have been just a bit larger. Also, it would be nice if their music schedule was posted on their web page.

This place is great because it has it all. If you want to meet up for a coffee you can do that. What’s that? You haven’t eaten? Take your pick from a decent little menu of sandwiches /deli items etc. Oh you are pregnant and want to eat 5 scoops of ice cream? BOOM — done. This place is a hidden gem. The ice cream is all fresh and the variety of flavors are decent between the cream, gelato and sorbets. The only thing that would rate this higher is if they had a bunch of board games sitting on a shelf to play with a friend. Oh yeah they have that too. Love it. Ok. Fine but when I eat ice cream I get thirsty. I wish they had an ice water dispenser set up with plastic cups. Done! Pffft… Yeah well next you’re going to tell me they hang local art on the walls that you can buy. YES — Done. Get outta here! I think you get the gist. Would recommend to anyone young or old.

I love Ring Mountain. The workers are friendly, the environment is perfect, the fireplace is a great study-zone, and the gelato and ice cream are delicious. There are board games by the fireplace which make it a perfect place to go with one or more friends. The round table in the back is also fun, as well as the outside seating and inside booths. I’d recommend this place to everyone.

To be fair this review focuses on Ring Mountain’s ice cream, not their gelato. I appreciate the presentation and the inventive flavors at Ring Mountain, but I’m kinda an ice cream snob. Creamy consistency and layers of rich tastes are important to me. The constancy is more low fat milky than true creamy. The flavors are good, but they rank below the layers of tastes found in other local ice creams.

Gelato! We came in after searching for ice cream on Unilocal while sort of nearby and now I’m trying to think of reasons to go back to Eagen. So good. Flavor choices = amazing. Prices = super cheap.

Okay. I know it’s only been a week since my previous review of this place. However, I am just jazzed at the patience of the staff and the samples they passed out to my children and their two friends this time. They shop was pretty busy and they still were cool about giving 2– 3 taste samples out. Sure, they knew we were going to order something, but it was all smiles from them just the same. Oh! The Lemon Sorbet and the Pumpkin Gelato? I may be back there today without the kids.

I live right near this place, and I come here mostly for gelato at night. I’ve had their sandwiches before for lunch; the sandwich was delicious, but it took FOREVER to make; there wasn’t even anyone else in there! I think they just have some scheduling issues to straighten out. Other than that, this place is usually hoppin’ at night during the summer with gelato-fans, and rightly so.

This place has been on my radar forever. A trip to the IMAX theater at the zoo put me in the neighborhood. «This place rules.». I whispered to my dad shortly after entering. That was before I even had any ice cream. It was love at first site. Its grandiose for an ice cream place. It’s true what they say, everything is bigger in the suburbs. I saw different flavors of ice cream for as far as the eye could see with every known flavor in the entire universe. Some quick facts: 1) The employees are super friendly. 2) They are generous and encourage splitting flavors. So you can get two flavors in a single order if you want. 3) They make gorgeous looking ice cream cakes and pies(to order). 4) I would work here for free if they paid me in ice cream. 5) If I did work there for free though, I’d weigh a gazillion pounds. 6) But it’d totally be worth it. 7) They have both gelato and ice cream. 8) You should totally come here. 9) They love giving samples. 10) This place rules! 11) Just get the five mini scoop sampler it’s perfect.

I’m not a huge fan of ice cream, but once in awhile I have a craving for it. By word of mouth we were told to stop in for the amazing ice cream. Pretty big place for an ice cream shop, but as I nosed around, they also serve deli stuff; sandwiches and such. I kept thinking how big and spacious it was for just ice cream and gelato. There was a big table in the back with a lazy Suzan. I like that they allow you to sample. I tried a few of the gelato samples which were all pretty good. I didn’t care for the salted caramel one. I ended up ordering the almond and pistachio gelato in a waffle cone. It was pretty big and wound up tossing half of it out. 1 scoop of each was way too much. J ordered the salted caramel ice cream which he really enjoyed, also in a waffle cone. They have custom cakes with ice cream and gelato. Nice place, friendly service and really good gelato with great flavors to choose from. Will probably swing back if in the area.

I had no idea gelato was available only three miles from my house. That’s probably not a good thing for my ass, but my taste buds are celebrating. Probably I should start biking down there when I plan a visit. The only downside to Ring Mountain is the selection of ice cream and gelato is paralyzing, there are several dozen flavor choices. As other reviewers note, go with the Just Peaks which allows you to get a good handle on five different flavors. The first night, I sampled Mango, Salted Caramel(Oh.Em.Eff.Gee. Amazing!) Coconut, Crème Brulee and Almond(also to die for). My second visit, I went back to Mango-so refreshing, not too sweet, and Limoncello-a wonderful tart sorbetto. I sampled several flavors each visit, and never got so much as an eye roll from the server. I spent several minutes after each visit plotting flavor combinations for the next time I stop. The interior is super clean, very modern and colorful design with a great tile backsplash behind the counter. If you live anywhere South of the River, there’s no excuse for not patronizing this joint. The prices are about the same as Dairy Queen, but the quality is infinitely better-in fact, it’s not even a fair comparison. I don’t agree with the Cold Stone comparison either, this place takes frozen confections to the next level.

I love ice cream and have been to plenty of places. They are in a small strip mall right across from the cub and target and next to the regal movie theater. Offering a large parking area in front of the store which may get crowded during the summer months but has never been to the point where its a problem finding a spot. This place is great on customer service! The employees seem to like their job with their smiley faces and willingness to offer as many samples as you like even on the busy nights during the summer weekends they are there to help you when in need as well. They offer plenty of choices to choose from all displayed through a glass window one side for ice cream the other for their gelato. They also offer coffee and sandwiches plus soup before i believe 9pm. The area is also huge with plenty of tables and free wifi. Near the back they have a large table that could fit 8 or more people in a round circle good for a student get together or a birthday.

This is an outstanding ice cream parlor. Their gelato, ice cream and sorbet is life changing :). I even arrived at 5 minutes after closing one hot Sunday night and they let me in, thanked me for stopping by and couldn’t have been nicer. I then had a deluge of ecstasy and ice cream in my car for 15 minutes lol. I make a point to get to this place when I am in town, worth the drive from up near Mall of America. I love DQ but this place is on a whole other level. Love it.

This place rivals the cool make-it-yourself aspect of Cold Stone Creamery and Grand Old Creamery’s deliciousness and atmosphere, and comes out on top! Ring Mountain has such a large buffet of flavors and combinations that there’s a high probability they will have whatever you’re thinking of. Another great aspect of RM is that where other ice cream shops might have three or four gelato favors, RM has an equal amount of gelato and ice cream. The gelato selection offers a lot of fruity flavors but I would be warned that some are extreme tastes and can become overwhelming in any amount larger than the sampler spoon. There are so many flavors that I find myself trying 5 every time I’m there before choosing one. In addition to that, if you can’t settle on one, there’s «Just the Peaks», where you can get scopes of 5 different flavors for 3.50. The place has seating outside, perfect for a sunny summer day, and plenty inside too, as well as games to play.

This place came out of nowhere and is now going to make me seriously reconsider my loyalty to Izzy’s. They have both gelato and ice cream and I’d estimate about 16 – 20 flavors of each. You’ll have to excuse my rough estimate but I was not concerned with counting at the time, I was on an ice cream high. The prices are comparable to Izzy’s but I’d say slightly cheaper for the servings. They also have«peaks», which again, I didn’t notice until afterwards but I’m pretty sure are similar to an «Izzy», a smaller scoop on top of your already generous portion of ice cream or gelato. My only gripe is that they don’t recycle the over-the-top plastic containers they serve the creamy goodness in. Being in Eagan, I didn’t really expect them to though because that would probably offend some people or something…
