It’s too bad we used to love the cupcakes here, but the cupcakes are definitely not up to par anymore. The people are really nice but unfortunately the cupcakes tasted really bad and upset our stomachs :(.

I had a Lilly Jane’s cupcake last week because my mother has recently developed a cup cake obsession. She brought me a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting… the cupcake was stale and tasted like it was baked out of an instant cake box a few days prior… and the frosting was regular cake frosting, nothing to brag about or to taste really. For $ 3 I expected a bit more… at least a fresh cup cake.

They are super pretty but I agree with previous people who have reviewed it. Cupcakes are nothing special defiantly not worth the price(not just my opinion also the opinion of the two children and two other adults who live with me) im so disappointed worst 16 dollars I’ve ever spent! I got 6 all different flavors they basically all taste the same and just like Wal-Mart cupcakes. I expected something amazing full of flavor especially for the price. It was a huge let down.

Slowly working our way through the flavors. Caramel apple, oreo, and mint chocolate are our current favorites. Very tasty and fresh!

The red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting is to die for! They made the best cake for an engagement party, it was beautiful, high, and very delicious! It was the best cake I ever ate! Everyone said the same thing and we ate every last crumb. So worth it compared to store bakeries or even a bakery because she used all real ingredients and butter. You can sample the cupcakes then order a cake as you like. Very highly recommend. I’m coming back for a birthday cake if I’m not too late. Order in advance.

I was a fan of Lilly Jane’s under the previous ownership – but many weren’t(including my husband) so it was with some apprehension that I arranged an unofficial Unilocal event here. I needn’t have been concerned. The new owners have completely revamped the cupcake/frosting recipes(all for the better). They still have their awesome flavors(chocolate peanut butter, super chocolate, carrot, half-baked, plain jane’s) but the execution now even more accurately matches the delicious description. Plus, they’ve added a salted caramel cupcake to the lineup. They have four daily flavors(Super Chocolate, Plain Jane’s, Black & White, and Caramel Apple) and then 2 – 4 other«daily specials». When we were there, the specials were their chocolate peanut butter, salted caramel, half-baked, and huckleberry hound. I was able to taste the huckleberry hound, salted caramel, and half-baked(chocolate cupcake with half baked chocolate chip cookie dough in the middle – whoa!). For me, the star of the show was their salted caramel. Does this flavor combo ever get old? No. It’s an amazing flavor combo and Lilly Jane’s rocks it in their darling cupcakes. Seriously… heavenly. Julie E( Unilocaler extraordinaire) had the awesome idea of getting several of their«baby cakes»(mini-cupcakes), so she could sample several flavors. This is an EXCELLENT idea. Their cupcakes are so delicious and their flavors so varied – the ability to taste a maximum number(before sugar overload hits) is a winning idea. I asked about gluten free options and was told that they do have gluten free cupcakes that are in the back. You just need to request one and they will frost it however you desire(I think they had chocolate and vanilla gluten free cupcakes to choose from). She did say, however, that though the cupcakes are gluten free, they are prepared in a kitchen that does use gluten(so I guess whether or not this is a good option for the gluten free folks would depend on how sensitive you are to it). The prices are pretty high(30ish for a dozen), but these aren’t your typical cupcakes. Not only are they delicious, they’re all pretty dang beautiful as well. So, if you’ve yet to try them – get to it! And, if you tried them previously but not in the last few months – give them another whirl – you won’t be sorry!

Lilly Jane’s got a bad rap in the recent past. They’ve changed ownership and are back on track as purveyors of amazing cupcakes. I spent a couple hours there today with some friends, sharing good conversation and sampling some amazingly tasty cupcakes. I can honestly say that I WILL make the drive from the Boise Bench to Eagle in the future to put more of this goodness in my mouth. As a rule I’m more into savory eats that sweets. I wondered how I would POSSIBLY sample more than one cupcake without suffering from sugar overload. Lilly Jane’s has a solution for that though in their ‘baby cakes’. Two bite mini cupcakes in all the same flavor palates as the cupcakes of the day. ½ a dozen baby cakes and a large cup of coffee(free refill!) was a great nosh and slurp while conversing with my friends. On my palate(which is how I thought of the plate with 6 baby cakes on it) today I had the following flavors: Salted Caramel, Almond Cream, Huckleberry Hound, Half Baked, Peanut Butter and Caramel Apple. I took time to savor each bite and to liberally wash each morsel down with fine Dawson Taylor coffee between flavors. Here is my take on my ‘plate du jour’ SALTEDCARAMEL. I am a FOOL for just about anything in this flavor. the cake was moist and chocolatey. the salty caramel goodness in the frosting brought it all together in two bites that were neither too sweet, nor too salty. It would be interesting I think, to see a white cake used in place of chocolate to highlight the caramel without th notes of chocolate. I could easily see myself noshing into a carb and sugar coma on these! ALMONDCREAM. I chose this flavor for a ‘buffer’ from all the chocolate, and I am so glad I did. Cupcakes(as a rule) tend to be just too sweet for me to enjoy more than a small taste of. THIS cupcake was both a palate cleanser and an odyssey! An almond cake with a raspberry center with a light almond frosting. OLIVEANDVYNEHUCKLEBERRYHOUND: A chocolate huckleberry cake with a huckleberry frosting. Another O to the M to the G experience in cupcakes. Though I will say that I found the frosting to be a trifle sweet and just the teeniest bit overbearing of the fruit in the cake. I also think that the experience on this cake could be taken to a new level if the cake was a white cake instead of chocolate. HALFBAKED: A chocolate cake with a center of cookie dough, frosted and then a small chocolate chip cookie laid on the top. When you look at the cupcake and the ingredients you think it might just be ‘too much’… but it’s not. Again, a small one was great, but I don’t think I could eat a ‘regular’ sized cupcake. PEANUTBUTTER: Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, topped with a cute wedge of peanut butter cup. Self descriptive! When made with moist spongy cake and a light frosting. it is. the noms. CARAMELAPPLE: This one was a lovely surprise. I initially chose it for two reasons. ONE. it’s not chocolate and TWO it’s a bit off the wall. If I had to narrow my field down to a favorite, this one would be vying for the top spot(along with the almond cream and yes. the huckleberry– even with the frosting a tad on the sweet side for me). The apple cake with buttercream frosting and a liberal dollop of caramel sauce was a near perfect balance I regret that I did not get the name of the hostess behind the counter. She did a great job of seeing to our needs and keeping up with her baking duties. The shop is small(seating for about eight). I never felt rushed for a moment. I can see myself maybe going back to share a dozen baby cakes with a friend, it is a unique way to spend some time! Go check them out. even if you’ve had a previous experience with Lilly Jane’s that was ‘less than shiny’. The new owners are providing an indulgent and tasty experience!

Eureka! These are some seriously delicious cupcakes… and not just your run-of-the-mill grocery store cupcakes. These are individually handcrafted works of art that just happen to be deliciously edible. This is a great little local bakery specializing in round cakes and cupcakes. It’s a good place to get a unique dessert for your next event… or just because!

For the price that you pay you would expect something just amazing but unfortunately that’s not what you get. You get a little above average homemade cupcake. With a recipe from Pinterest, I could make the equal for a fraction of the cost.

I ordered a six-pack of chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting, or so I thought. EWWWW! The cupcake tasted like it had just come out of the freezer. There was very little chocolate taste. The frosting was pure white sugar. There was no buttery flavor. HORRIBLE! Then, you throw in the cost of said cupcake!!! Ridiculous! Lilly Janes, you have lost my business forever. It could have been a very lucrative deal for you as I buy cupcakes at least three times per week. Oh, how I wish I had an Ida’s here!

For months I wanted to try the cupcake shop since it is right across the street from Wendy’s, but I kept forgetting… Finally I got there. I was literally shocked by the prices. $ 4+ for one cupcake! Well I was finally there so I figured I would indulge this one time and get a cupcake and enjoy it as a special treat. Took a bite into the cupcake and could not believe it! It was horrible! Dry, tasteless, extremely disappointing. I tossed most of it in the trash was very upset over being out that money. I have never gone back. Can’t believe they are still in business. Popped over to Winco and got 12 cupcakes for the same price and we gobbled them all up ASAP.

Oh my how can a company get so many bad reviews, and not change anything? My family loves sweets. But when you buy a cupcake and your 6&8 year old don’t want to finish it… it bad! And way to expensive. Plus you would think being next to Coldstone Creamery they be making a killing, but they close early and get no business from the ice cream group. Hope they read Unilocal and change recipe! Check my reviews I do not give out many 1 stars. But the 1 star is just for bad food and way over priced! Plus the fact that Unilocal has pointed out to them that a lot people do not like their cupcakes. Good: Location, parking, very nice inside, friendly customer service.

I bought four cupcakes from Lilly Jane’s, a normal size Plain Jane & Lemon, and then a mini Strawberry Fields and Carmel Apple(~$ 10.00). All of these cupcakes were a huge disappointment. They tasted like they came from a box. I would put money on this in fact. The frosting’s tasted very similar to each other too. Like it comes in a bucket and then they add some food coloring and extract to make the«flavor». I love frosting!!! I really do. But this frosting just tasted like lard on a dry boxed cake. I am not sure Lilly Jane makes anything from scratch, and that is a huge disappointment in so many way’s.

The frostings are too sweet. The strawberry lemonade cupcake had no taste. I was like what flavor is that, oh wait, it’s no flavor its the new void cupcake. I’d never gone so I went there with the kids and they had gone and didn’t really care to go back and when they had their cupcakes they didn’t finish them even. I hate it when a small cute business doesn’t have a great product, but what c an you do?
