In my opinion, just a normal run of the mill breakfast joint. That isn’t necessarily bad, just know when you come you will be getting a normal breakfast, no fancy twists or takes on regular dishes. The prices are normal for what you get, not overly sized portions. However, I can think of a few places in Boise that charge less for the same as you would get here(perhaps less pretty environment).

The Griddle is one of our favorite breakfast spots. With a full breakfast AND lunch menu(and healthy options to boot!), it’s one of our go-to spots when we’re trying to look for something for everyone. Food: I’ve tried many Griddle items, and my favorites include their oatmeal(which comes plain or with a variety of toppings) and their egg white omelets. The oats are great because it’s not a HUGE portion, so you can eat the entire bowl along with a side of protein like eggs and not feel like you’ve just stuffed yourself silly. The omelets are made with 3 eggs, and they don’t upcharge for egg white only omelets. My favorite is the«make your own» so you can add in any 3 ingredients you want! If you like hashbrowns, specify if you’d like them crispy. They can sometimes come out a little soft. TRYTHEIRHOUSEMADEJAMS! Amazing! Drinks: House-squeezed orange juice, full espresso bar, endless coffee refills and yummy chocolate milk. No complaints! Atmosphere: It’s a very open and bright restaurant. They have a mixture of booths & tables to accommodate all sizes of eating parties. The outdoor seating in the summer is very nice. They also(which I LOVE) have a fireplace as you enter that you can warm yourself by as you wait for a table. Service: So fast and friendly! They are always coming around to refill your coffee and don’t question when you make wacky meal requests(as I often do!). Happy Hour Offerings: n/a Healthy Hack: Order the oats and/or egg white omelet. Both are completely customizeable to meet any macronutrient/dietary needs! Tips: TRYTHEHOUSE-MADEJAM!

My wife and I have been enjoying breakfast here every Saturday for years. Super good(we share the Almond Crusted French Toast and their delicious bacon). Wonderful, consistent, professional and friendly service. Great atmosphere.

Best breakfast joint in town. We have dined at all their locations and they are consistent in food quality and service… great on both. Fair prices. A must have is their chorizo Benedict and fresh oj

Absolutely and totally 100%…average. Average menu, average food, average environment. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired and that’s probably an understatement. Our waitress delivered 4 star service in what was otherwise a very average breakfast experience.

The Griddle has out done themselves! With their updated menu, I was thoroughly impressed! They always have greatly crafted menu items at a very reasonable price. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed and usually the service is spot on. If not, their manager goes out of the way to make sure you get the royal treatment. Even if you haven’t said a word. We take out of town guests to The Griddle and they love it! Thanks guys!

Best breakfast in town. Excellent selection of breakfast dishes from delicious thick and fluffy hot cakes to a root vegetable blended scramble. The fresh fresh fresh Oj is tantalizing and the service is wonderful. Can’t wait to return.

We greatly enjoyed our breakfast here. We shared the caramel bacon pecan crêpe, and California omelet. The service was excellent. We were seated promptly, and our food arrived quickly.

First time eating at the griddle. The menu options looked more upscale than your normal breakfast place. I had the quinoa, chorizo and eggs tostada, my husband had the caramelized onion, arugula and red pepper omelette. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and our food came out quickly. The portion sizes were generous. My husband and I both agreed, that while our food was good, it wasn’t great. I thought mine was rather bland, other than the occasional spicy bites, but even those were not all that flavorful. As we ate, the restaurant was getting busier. You could see the stress level of our waiter rising. I showed him my 10% off coupon for checking in with Unilocal, which he acknowledged, but must have forgotten about when he printed our receipt a minute later. Seeing as how they were quite busy, I didn’t press the issue. We’ll have a coupon the next time we eat there, if we do return at all.

In counterpoint to the old saw, sometimes familiarity breeds respect. That is true for my husband and me for The Griddle. We have been in several times over the last year for a late breakfast or quick lunch. During that time the service, which was the weak spot for sure a year ago for consistency and professionalism, has improved by a good amount and the food has remained as good as always. This is a «come one and all» place with something for people of all ages; bring the family. MENUCHANGE&FOOD: Since others have commented on the food, the only news to add about that is this: about a month ago they changed the breakfast and lunch menus. Instead of a huge, fold out, multipage menu they’ve pared it down to two oversized pages and eliminated some items and added some new ones. We discovered this when we popped in for lunch last month to have one of our favorite things, the house made quinoa veggie burger, to find it had met its’ end with the menu revamp. But we were delighted to find a new house made lamb burger, using Idaho lamb, and with a tzatziki style sauce is on the menu and they graciously substituted dry rye toast for the croissant style or brioche style bun. New menu sides also have some Middle Eastern flair, like a tabboleh style quinoa salad and an interesting salad using raw sweet potato. The breakfast menu has been pared back too, but our favorites there remain. And they always, always get my poached eggs right, exactly how I order them«hard as golf balls» which is more difficult for a kitchen to do than one might imagine. That they have real rye bread for toast and they never, ever butter it when my hubby asks for it dry draws applause from him. Applause too that their jam is in a jam jar delivered to the table, on request, not out of a package. But heads up, some things did get the ax in the menu redux. If your favs were among them, another door may open in the new adds to the menu. HOURS: Open for breakfast and lunch only, they close at 2:00, we have found the best way to avoid either a wait for tables or waiting on food from a too busy kitchen is to avoid weekends and peak breakfast time on every day of the week. VIBE: The space is a big one, light and bright with booths lining window walls and tables and chairs in the middle of the room. If I could waive a magic wand it would be to remove a table or two or reposition a table or two in the middle of the room because there are times when diners are so closely sat it is a tight gauntlet to get from the dining space to the restroom.(Let’s face it. All that good coffee at breakfast and away one goes.) Outdoor seating on a patio is possible, although we’ve never tried it. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Good amount in the associated lot. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: A couple of spots of accessible parking, too few to meet Federal law and State code, are in the parking lot.(This is the mall owners error, not the restaurant owners.) Level in the door and throughout. The loo is accessible too. Although I imagine a person using a wheelchair would find it between difficult and impossible to get from the dining to the loo given spacing of chairs at full house. Keeping those aisleways 36″ clear(ADA rules) for path of travel is the owner’s issue. Since she, like me, has MS I imagine she may think of that eventually. The equal access law that requires it is 25 years old this July. It is time to get this ADA stuff right.

Good place to get breakfast in the Eagle area. There is lots of room inside for seating, no waiting for a table on weekend mornings. The service is very good– the staff always has great recommendations. Try the freshly squeezed orange juice!

The first time there I ordered eggs Benedict«hollandaise on the side». My meal came with the hollandaise not on the side. They were busy, so I gave them a pass. We went again and I ordered my eggs over hard. There were perhaps 4 other tables occupied. Waitstaff came by to check on us as I cut into my eggs and said«those aren’t over hard. I’ll take them back». We waited long enough for my husband’s order to become cold. If they’d done anything(comped the coffee at the least) I would have given more stars. Throw me a bone people. Not going back.

Given that I work in Eagle, I have been to both Joe Mommas and the Griddle many many times. The griddle has become my favorite of the two. The food is very good. But the staff is hands down much much better. The food also comes out much faster as well. I guess it is expensive for breakfast as some of the reviews state. This doesn’t bother me as you get what you pay for. If you want cheap crap go somewhere else and don’t complain.

Best breakfast I’ve had in ages. Aunt Mo’s Spuds are amazing. Much menu variety. Bright, open & cheery. Not too noisy. Friendly staff tho a bit hurried. Highly recommended.

I’m giving my favorite place for crepes 2 stars strictly due to the service we received today. We arrived during the lunch rush, we were seated in 10−15mins and given menus. Our waiter seemed rushed and a bit frantic when he asked us what we wanted to eat… after we had literally just been seated. We ordered our drinks and requested a few more minutes. When my iced tea arrived I requested Splenda. He came back to take our order and still seemed rushed. I ordered my lunch and an order of crepes to go. I felt like our waiter was half walking away while we were still trying to order. Still no Splenda. Our food arrives and we request condiments and Splenda. No apology for forgetting the Splenda and again, he was walking away as we were making these requests. Once we were both finished with our meal(a small baby was fed and the mother then returned to her food… so it’s not like we ate quickly), our waiter showed up and asked us if everything was ok. By this time the lunch rush was gone and he I feel he had time to come by sooner to ask about our meal. We asked for our check and my crepes are nowhere to be seen nor are they on my bill. I ask our waiter how long the crepes will take and reassure me they won’t take anytime at all — again, not so much as an apology for forgetting. Easily 10−15mins passes and I notice a styrofoam container on the counter in the kitchen and I wonder if it’s mine. I watch our waiter walk past it atleast 3 times and realize it must not be mine. We continue to wait an unreasonable amount of time and I finally to ask the hostesses about my order. They return in seconds and inform me that our waiter is wrapping it up for me. Yep, it was my order in the styrofoam container that he passed several times. He arrives with my crepes — no apology and again, feeling rushed. I wanted to scratch off the tip I left in the receipt, but at this point I just wanted to get out of there. I’ve never understood why people like that are working directly with people at job that almost solely relies on tips. This is coming from someone who worked at job where most of my wages came from tips. I was extremely disappointed in the service we received but the food was great and I will be back. However, I will ask to be reseated if that waiter is assigned to my table.

If you like french toast and coconut you must try the Caribbean French toast, rich & delicious. Making your own omelet is a delight too. I got egg whites with tomatoes and basil. Never thought basil & egg would go well together before and now am in love. Also the sour dough toast is the best!!!

Real good quality breakfast with good variety. Place is roomy so that wait time is not long. Got 10% off with a Unilocal coupon — checking in pays off, sometimes. Prices are good but closer to high, in the range of $ 10-$ 12 per dish. I could see where some reviewers felt that it was high.
