Yes, I’m giving Mighty 5-stars, for absolutely perfect execution of their own unique«buff-mex» style of fast food tacos. People that are comparing them to more authentic street tacos like you get all over so-cal, or even closer to home from the excellent Lloyds, are missing the point. Mighty was the perfect drunk food when I was young and is now my daughters and my favorite guilty lunch haunt. Bonus points for their always pitch perfect advertising, from radio spots to their placemats. They’ve extended the menu quite a bit over the years but you can’t go wrong with a simple beef and cheese taco in a flour softshell. My little ones are partial to bean tacos. This location is consistently good. Love the old school buffalo«décor» as well. A unique buffalo experience, as good as it gets!

In the last year this Mighty has really gone down hill. It all started with my brother finding a long dark hair in his taco. No one in our household has long dark hair. But someone working there did… Then today, on the verge of hangry, I got a chicken fajita. Opened up the wrapper to find a dark black… well, I THINK arm hair… on the fajita. I just couldn’t bare to eat it. Ordered poppers and they were so dry, they were inedible. I shopped Tops(who by the way has no cell service, WTF?! And everyone working looks like they want sweet release from life(ugh).) HANGRY, honey. I wasn’t about to eat anyone’s body hair and God only knows what else from their bodies. I hope Corporate reads these reviews… But even if they don’t, they’re next on my list«TOCONTACT». Your tacos ain’t too mighty these days, folks…

I grew up going to this Mighty. It is cheap and opens late! I use to get the nachos deluxe alll the time, but they changed the chips in the past 5 or so years. My favorites are the super mighty or the chicken fajitas! The sweet empanadas are also a good choice. Whenever I think of Mighty, I think of my childhood!

Post Bills Game First Meal of the Day — Need I say more. After several adult beverages at the Bills game, I needed something of substance and I needed it fast. Mighty Taco’s convenient drive thru sign glaring at me, so in I went. CHEAP! Very cheap. Went with a garden burrito! Very impressed to see that they had a whole wheat wrap option! To be honest, the wrap was awesome! Got a side of guacamole also which was bland. Bottom line, the food isn’t healthy so I’ll come here on rare occasions but it was decent.

I’m sure a lot of Mighty Taco die hards will disagree with me but this beloved Buffalo institution serves inconsistent and mediocre food at best. I sometimes think that when I go through the dive-thru I should just order«surprise me» because the order is rarely correct. This used to be one of my in a pinch places to go to for a quick bite to eat but they seem to be resting on their laurels these days. There are plenty of other great but not authentic tacos and burritos in this area to chose from. Don’t bother. I’ve been to the place for the last time.

I have to admit… coming from San Diego, CA… when I tried Mighty Taco, I hated it. I thought it was WAYBELOW Taco Bell(and I’m not a huge fan of Taco Bell) and couldn’t understand why Buffalonians liked it so much… But my boyfriend(Amherst born) kept going there… finally I realized it was an acquired taste!!! Now I LOVEIT!(well, as fast food tacos go). My all time favorite: 3 Cheese Nacho Burrito MMMmmmmmm Although sometimes they don’t smear the cheese thoroughly and some parts are dry… but that only happened once and not at this location. The Super Mighty Taco is also pretty decent. I’ll miss them now that I’ve moved so far away! :(

Ok, First off it’s not 5 stars. I’m sorry to anyone who gave this place 5 stars, but I think you are all suffering from a variation of Stockholm Syndrome– you know… where people who have been kidnapped start having a deep desire and positive attitude towards their kidnappers. Yes, the kidnapper in this case is Mighty Taco. Or is it something else??? Have you developed a habit which involves you being stoned all of the time? Mighty taco is for lack of a better word, mediocre. Anyone having tried a burrito from the West or the Southwest will have the same initial response of confusion when biting down. It looks like a burrito, but it tastes like a sh*t sandwich… with lettuce and tomato. Look mighty taco does the job. The burritos are filling and can get very spicy(hot), but they don’t carry the same medley of flavors that the burritos in Cali have. I highly recommend NOTGETTING lettuce and tomato in your burrito… unless you have been doing it since you were 3.

I call it Mucusy Taco, because I’d probably rather eat that… ok no but you know what I mean. First hand experience: I’ve been to this location all of twice. It was just the same as all the others, but with noticeably worse service(if you can imagine that). The food is often cold… or lukewarm… and it makes me run to the bathroom every single time. I was at this location with Justin(roomie) about 6 months ago actually. And no, it didn’t go well. He bought tons of stuff, consumed it all… I got 1 or 2 items and reluctantly nibbled at them… finished about half… and ended up running to el bano as usual. It just goes straight through me. Always. Idk why. First of all, in response to the Californian who reviewed this place… if Buffalonians told you to eat at Mighty Taco then they are the equivalent of Californians who tell you to eat at Del Taco, okay? They don’t know food. There are lots of Buffalonians that do, and we would never be caught dead in the vicinity of Mighty Taco. Buffalo DOES have some good Buffalo Tacos, in fact some amazing ones which have nothing to do with Mexican food(try Francos on the Blvd in Amherst/Tonawanda)… but Mighty Taco is one step below Taco Bell. Did you hear me? I said one step below Taco Bell. Yes. I know that seems impossible. Like a contradiction in terms. An oxymoron. But it’s true. I thought Taco Bell was the worst food on earth. Until I tried Mighty Taco. It is just… so… bad. Please, please, please stop associating this place with Buffalo. Buffalo has the best food of any small city in the USA… but Mighty Taco, along with Anchor Bar and Duff’s… is one big local embarrassment. The less famous places will rock your world. Read about some of them in my reviews :) Never ever ever Mighty, ew.

Good, solid, fake Mexican fast food for cheap. Great for when you’ve got the munchies or just want a quick bite. Can be a bit sticky and dirty, but you don’t go there for ambiance. Should be tried at least once!

Mighty Taco is a Buffalo institution. Ask anyone from Buffalo — especially anyone who’s moved away from the area — and their eyes will likely glaze over with longing at the mere mention of «Mighty.» The food is made fast, sold for cheap and about as fake as Mexican food gets. There is nothing gourmet or authentic about this joint, so temper your expectations. Some people can’t look past this simple fact and it’s their loss. It’s a pretty simple menu: they’ve got tacos and burritos both of which are nothing fancy but just taste good. Some people are not a big fan of regular«taco meat», so If you want to step it up a notch, try the chicken or steak fajitas. Their nachos and poppers are also really damn good. Or if you are okay with«taco meat», check out the El Nino burrito: there’s a half pound of it in there. These guys are not fucking around. Finally, allow me to spend a moment talking about the«Mighty Pack.» It’s pretty simple: you get six Mighty Tacos. If memory serves, it’s $ 5.20, with a regular individual Mighty Taco being $ 0.99. Six Tacos is really a lot of food, probably almost too much. You would occasionally get a look from the cashier when it became evident that you intended to consume the Mighty Pack single-handedly. I once commented to a friend, «you know, I can usually only eat five of those tacos, maybe I should buy them individually.» His reply was, «Yeah, or you could pay the extra 20 cents and look like a God.» I suggest you all follow Scott’s advice: head to Mighty Taco and ensure 30 or 60 minutes of deification for yourself.

The taco was mightier than the gut … Okay, first off: I’m from California and should know better. Any Mexican restaurant worth its salsa should have at least one word of Spanish in its name besides«taco» — and no, «del» doesn’t count. Second: Any taco place that trumpets the return of their«BBQ Beef Tacos»(I kid you not) should be avoided. I was in Buffalo for work and heard about a local chain called Mighty Taco. Hearing people talk about the place was like hearing burger fans in California talk about In-N-Out Burger so I figured I’d give it a try. The food was tasty and I originally wanted to give MT four-stars. However, I’ve subtracted off a star for every hour I was in the bathroom at the hotel after dinner. This should have resulted in zero or negative stars but Unilocal won’t allow that. I consider this a learning experience — I now know that there are exactly 24.7 tiles on the floor and 874 leaves on the patterned wallpaper in my hotel bathroom …
