The place looks clean, nice, and had decent reviews so we tried it. The oysters were very fresh but were improperly shucked so I had to spit out oyster shell bits a few times. Then we got both the tuna sashimi and the tuna tartar, both were not very fresh and were not very flavorful/appetizing. The portion was very small but we both could not finish due to taste. Our stomachs feel poorly. Also waiter was nice but didn’t check on us a lot. Slow service. Also very over priced for quality and quantity.

The manager couldn’t have been a more rude person. I never write reviews, but I am so passionate about how awful this man was to my family, I feel the need to vocalize my opinion. My mother ordered crab legs, and it was misunderstood as cakes. Simple miscommunication that would cost us over a ½ hour to rectify. My issue was not that, but rather how the problem was(not) handled. We had also requested 3 orders of their ½ dozen oysters, and were up sold a platter– told that it’d be a better value. The final oyster bill was over double what our original bill would have been. After the crab issue, and the oyster miscommunication… Not to mention several sub par drinks– we were less then satisfied. When there was nothing done to leave us with a better taste in our mouths(pun intended) — we called over the manager. He said he’d comp us for 2 drinks(on a rather hefty bill). When we explained how poorly this had been handled– he only grew to be more rude. When we told him we’d never be back, he replied«good!» We left(while also tipping, despite the ridiculous service) incredibly unhappy. This should also be stated that this was my family’s first trip together to the island. We will never go back to this restaurant and would advise others to skip this place on your next restaurant outing. Way better places who treat their patrons with respect are out there.

Among the worst evenings out ever! Order was incorrectly handled. Food delivered not what was ordered. What was correct was very ordinary. To get order correct was to take another half hour. Waitress spent entire night apologizing. Finally Manager came to the table and acted like nothing unusual had happened. In addition was arrogant and clueless. Save yourself and go somewhere else. If there were zero stars they would get that rating.

Our group came here two days in a row. Try the«Painkiller» cocktail, it was like a Pina Colada but better! We had a great view of the beach and had good service. We ordered beef sliders for our starter which were delicious. For the main course most of us had lobster rolls which were good, but for $ 19 had too much bread and not enough lobster. When you consider the price you could just buy a whole pound of lobster cheaper than the roll. Some in our group had come the night before and said that bacon sticks(which are a menu app) were put out for free. I was sad we missed that but our different varieties of bread with anchovy and olive spread were incredible. I will definitely come back here and try the fried oyster roll.

My last review was 5 stars, this last visit was very disappointing. The host was extremely rude to me when we walked in, for no reason at all. Based on the reviews I am not the first person he was rude to. I asked the server who he was and it turns out he is one of the owners. If I didn’t have a $ 150 gift card we would of gone somewhere else. My wife was very pleased with her dish. My filet was over cooked and lacked flavor($ 42.00). My daughter got swordfish and was up all night with a stomachache. To sum it up Our server was good, food was ok, view is excellent, host ruined my mood the second I walked in. I also want to point out we are in Edgartown just about every weekend in the summer and there are plenty of excellent restaurants to go to, the Atlantic is now off my list.

Very expensive, very bad food. The grilled octopus was too salty. The crab cakes were mealy and grey. Greasy sliders came on butter laden buns. On the positive side, our waitress was friendly. It was the most expensive meal of our trip… and the worst too. Much better options include Atria, Rockfish, The Newes from America, or the flower garden place, which are all nearby.

Food was ok. The older gentleman at the host table is kind of full of himself and not really welcoming. I got the crab salad. It was ok. My friend got the turkey burger and other had lobster roll. For the price they would also pass.

There’s absolutely NO way a place like the Atlantic has 3 stars. The customer service is impeccable, the food makes you want to stand up from your table, the viw from your table is pbenomenal, the drinks are sinful and the desserts are enough to make you repent for gluttony. Make your way to The Atlantic and INDULGE. Dimitry was my server. They accommodated our part of six after they sat 4 of us initially. The recommendations were on point. Each of my party of 6 were satisfied beyond contentment. Summary: do not leave this island without checking The Atlantic OFF of your checklist!!!

Had a fabulous lunch here last week. The staff is very friendly and I enjoyed both my wonderful Harbor view and the food. We ordered the oysters, which were a hit, along with the Lobster Roll, calamari fries, which were very tasty. My only comment about the lobster roll is that the bread is too big and takes away from the meal. Other than that, it was pretty good and I will return.

The fact that this place only has 3 stars confuses me. I eat here with the family every time we come to MV and have had outstanding food and service every time. I cannot recall anyone disliking a dish they got. The harpooned swordfish I had last night was delicious, and the sides of brussel sprouts, asparagus, and potatoes au gratin were wonderful. Cocktails were tasty also. The one downside is it’s a very expensive restaurant, most of the meals dont come with anything, you have to order a side. But the quality is good so I dont mind.

We had such a great time here. We went to the small bar in the back of the place before you go outside and settled in intending to just get some oysters and a beer before stalking the streets and shops of Edgartown. Had a dozen excellent oysters(they serve them with tiny tobasco bottles — nice touch!) Had some Mad Martha beer and enjoyed talking with some of the other patrons. Then the most amazing thing happened… The bartender brought out frigging bacon for everyone!!! That’s right, frigging bacon!!! She set the frigging bacon on the frigging bar and told us that they serve it as the bar snack instead of crummy peanuts! What was our reaction? We ate the frigging bacon. We ate the poop out of it! We ate frigging bacon until we grew frigging pig tails! Wow! Great Job Atlantic! Here’s your 5 stars! You totally nailed it! Frigging bacon! Who knew?

Greet bartenders and amazing food. Casually talking to other patrons I was informed I was laughing too loud and patrons were complaining. I apologized and offered to pay for the meals of said patrons for the trouble. Manager said not needed. Later when the dinning room was empty and still having drinks and food at the bar. I was asked to leave due to my laugh being too loud. Again asked who complained in order to apologize and compensate. Then informed by management that it wasn’t «that kind of place» and they«my kind wasn’t welcome there». Really? A hard working middle class man spending $ 15 a drink is not welcome because I laugh too loud in an empty restaurant? Been eating and drinking here for over 10 years. I see no further visits for myself not the crew I sail over multiple times a year. I feel bad for the bartenders who have to deal with such pedestrian management. I would not expect such terrible front of house management from a TGIFidays never alone a beloved Edgartown establishment that had been a meeting point for boaters from all over New England. I’ve never felt less appreciated for spending over $ 100 on dinner and drinks. Again not the bartenders. The sub par ill educated front of the house management. Will not return.

One of the best, if not the BEST run restaurants and bars in Martha’s Vineyard. The staff is expertly trained, food is impeccable and delicious, and the views are breathtaking. I’ve eaten here several times and my favorites are the caprese salad, tuna tartare, lobster roll, and crab salad. Everything is always sophisticated, lovely, professional and delicious at Atlantic and the manager, Matt knows how to treat his customers very well and keep them coming back. Great customer service. Highly recommend.

Came for coffee and a slice of cake to share. Good coffee gigantic chocolate cake and best of all such a friendly server. He was really kind and patient even when my mom tried to change the order twice, he kept big smile and good vibe.

Very snooty host and hostess. Our waitress was well meaning, but didn’t know much about the dishes. I had high hopes for the Ahi Tuna and asked it be prepared how the chef recommends, which was apparently medium rare. When it arrived, it seemed more well done to me. Literally the last time I had this type of dish was in landlocked Dallas, TX and it was 100x better then. I don’t plan on eating here again and wouldn’t recommend it.

We chose Atlantic based on our hotel’s recommendation. The service was nice, very attentive and pleasant. The food was just okay. We were very excited about the menu based on their website and were expecting a great dinner. We did not visit Unilocal first… so shame on us. We started with the crab guacamole. My wife and I love guacamole and this was very disappointing. The chips were stale and the guacamole had very little flavor. The presentation is amazing; it is served in a very large and heavy molcajete. Our entrees were good, not great. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and my wife had the Chicken. The truffle fries were really good. Overall, I would say this restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food but it is a great location and the service was pleasant.

By the time I ate at Atlantic Fish & Chop House, I was already in love with our picture-perfect surroundings on Martha’s Vineyard and was looking for a meal to match. Between skipping breakfast and waiting in a line to get in, I was starving. I could have eaten soggy cardboard and enjoyed it. Fortunately, they offer up an authentic menu that is just what I imagined an islander would eat on a regular basis. What I was really aching for was some authentic Atlantic clam chowder, and boy did they deliver. It was the perfect balance between clams, potatoes and seasonings. I wasn’t as impressed with the tuna steak sandwich. The tuna on its own lacked flavor, although it was seared nicely, and was way too much for any adult to consume when turned into a sandwich. I ended up putting the excessive bread on the side and just eating the meat. The fries that came with it ended up being the real highlight of the dish. Our waiter was busy with the lunch rush but still took the time to make sure our needs were met. All in all, a meal to live up to the beauty of the island!

This is what I’m trying to make as balanced a review as possible. I’ve eaten and drank at the Atlantic several times in the last 9 months. I will explain below: Lunch — 5 stars. Easily the best time of day to come to the Atlantic. Our server on my most recent visit was friendly, attentive, and quick to meet any requests that we threw at her. Patio seating was amazing with perfect weather and a view of the boats. I got the wedge salad and my companion got the burger. Both portions were excellent, and the price point was on target given the size and quality of the meal, as well as the premium location. Dinner — 2 stars. Prices definitely on the higher end, even with the location. Food was so so, but I definitely had better meals elsewhere on the island. Service for our group of 4 was nowhere near the best I’ve ever had, but the server could’ve been much worse. Late night — 3 star. Hot mess express. Sloppy central. Not nearly as fun as the wharf, but great people watching.

This is an old school fish house. We went here on a recommendation(that we overheard) from a woman talking to another person while walking down the street. We had: Mac n Cheese — my daughters really liked it Tuna steak sandwich — delicious, the wasabi aioli cleared my sinuses but was good. Fried oyster sandwich — heavy but good Skinny french fries — my girls loved them The real stand out was the kalamata olive tapenade that was served with the bread. It was totally delicious. The bathrooms need some work, they are on the nasty side. TP all over the place and in desperate need of a cleaning.
