Doing some holiday shopping along beautiful Main St. in Edgartown before our 7:30 showtime of Creed and we stumbled on this gem! The off-season quiet of MV opened into a lively friendly group of what looked like regulars! As soon as we walked in people made room for us at the bar and recommended we order the Caribbean wings. Good choice because they were awesome! Paired with a few Grey Goose martinis with olives and it was perfect pre gaming before Creed!

Service was great. Nice ambience. Lobster chewy, tough, tasteless. If you claim to have fresh lobster in a tank then learn to cook them or don’t par boil them. Not sure what you did but it’s not supposed to have the texture of gum. Too bad too. I was really thinking this is lobster country! They can’t mess this up. Also had corn and fried potatoes. Potatoes were good but the corn on the cob obviously sat in a steamer tray too long. Kernels were all flattened out. Grilled asparagus was not bad at all. Over all it’s a shame when you drive 300 miles and can’t wait to get really good local lobster it tastes the same as it does at Red Lobster. Yuck.

Large, tasty portions. Some missteps in getting the right order, but waitress very apologetic and corrected the error quickly

My boyfriend and I went to the pub side last Saturday, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was a tight space, and I really like cozy bars. They had multiple tvs to enjoy the game on and friendly bartenders. Prices were reasonable, although we only got drinks. They did have a good beer selection. The girl next to me had a burger and fries which smelled AMAZING. I was very tempted to steal some french fries but restrained myself. Even for a Saturday night we were able to find seats at the bar, so I’d say it was a winning choice.

This was our first time in Martha’s Vineyard and we decided to stop in for lunch and cocktails. The drinks were very good and there was no complaints about the full meals we received either however there was 2 orders of shrimp cocktail placed neither of which came with cocktail sauce. When requested they apologized that they had forgotten and came back 5 minutes later stating they ran out. Next we ordered a side of grilled shrimp and another glass of wine for our meal. The shrimp was in place of the cocktail shrimp for a salad topper after 15 minutes of placing neither request came and we were already finished with our meal. We ask to for go the shrimp and the wine paid and left. On a side note our waitress comped the food we did not receive and the shrimp cocktail we sent back untouched. However we will not be returning.

In terms of atmosphere it can get pretty loud. Children were yelling. Also we tried calling the restaurant several times but nobody would pick up. However, despite these deficiencies the food is quite delectable. My one complaint about the lobster ravioli is that they put the garlic bread right on top and it got soggy. I would have liked it on the side. *Edit: The clam chowder is very creamy and delicious.

Fabulous traditional seafood, quahogs, fried clams, great chowder! Going back again while in Edgartown

Great place! The chowder fries were delicious(there’s green onions, bacon, and potatoes that somewhat mask the clam flavor, making it appetizing to seafood lovers and haters alike). I had an angus linguica(pronounced Lin-gwee-sa) burger, and the fries were delicious. The fried pickles are good too.

Very good and priced right in a area where the prices in most restaurants are on the high side. Caesar Lobster salad was delicious, wifes Nachos were very good, mixed drinks were strong and tasty, service was friendly and fast, and the interior fit the name. Next time in Edgartown, we’ll definitely be back.

Just finished eating here, and I do not agree with only giving this place 3.5 stars. I had a wedge salad n the Reuben sandwich with fries. I have never found a place that makes Reuben’s better than me and this place may take the cake! Fabulous! The fries were yummy, as well. My only complaint… no mt dew.

My best friend is a bit on the picky side when it comes to food so we had to find somewhere with food she’d eat. Not a bad place to settle on. I ordered the teriyaki wings and the steak salad. The wings came out with the main course and they ended up being not what I ordered. They were a mix of hot and teriyaki, and surprisingly good. I sent them back though because I’d planned to share and no one else would eat the mix. I wish I’d stuck with that though because the plain teriyaki wasn’t nearly as good. My steak salad on the other hand was delicious. Steak was cooked well and the lettuce was fresh as were the other ingredients. . Nice server who was able to split our check 3 ways without a problem. Not a bad restaurant.

The Wharf had excellent, fresh mussels. The seafood linguini was also very good. The Reuben sandwich was good. French fries were just fine. If I could make a recommendation, it would be in the beer selection. I had a Boston brewed Harpoon IPA that was awful. This beer is weak, not hoppy and tastes lousy. With so many excellent IPAs available these days, a PUB should have a couple decent ones to chose from. I turned my beer in for a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which was not an IPA but had more flavor, was more hoppy and malty. The waitress did not offer to take the bad beer off my bill but I think she was perhaps new and did not think to offer. I would recommend Shipyard Monkey Fist or Dogfish Head 90 minute as two East Coast IPAs that are respectable. My wife ordered Guinness. You can never go wrong with Guinness!

Went to the Wharf for a date night a couple weeks ago for the first time. We got the artichoke & spinach dip to start — not the best I’ve ever had, but not bad. I got the NY Strip and my boyfriend got a panini. Steak was absolutely amazing, cooked and seasoned perfectly — and my boyfriend enjoyed his panini very much. A little pricey, but a very good dinner over all.

Sitting here right now. Slow night. Service is horrible., Steak salad was tough. Not cooked the way it was ordered. My only guess is it’s off season now and perhaps they don’t feel the need to be on their game. There were seven in our party and the gratuity added in came to $ 35.00. There is no way our server deserved half that amount.

The wharf is kinda awesome. It has a pub side which is usually quite busy, and a restaurant side which is much bigger. I have had wings, clam chowder, a Reuben, fish and chips, and the tomato mozzarella panini. All of the meals I have had were 5⁄5 what I expected, even a little more beautiful. The bartenders and waitresses I’ve had were all jolly and helpful humans. We’ve been going once a week, and since it’s winter season now, there really isn’t many other options in edgartown. I’m okay with that. Prices are a little high for seafood entrees but it’s Martha’s Vineyard after all. Obama comes here to hit golf balls with his body guards. Will go again.

This place is a solid pick for a beer and some wings. The wings were actually prepared exactly as I like them… very crispy and not at all soggy. I sat at the back bar and the bartender was awesome and chatted to us about fishing. Great spot to kick it with some bar food. Yum.

Yikes! I hate giving this place a bad review as it feels like home for me. I worked here for years when I was younger and many of my friends still bartend here. This review is based solely on the restaurant. Our food has ALWAYS been good, quality food however the past few times we’ve gone it has been horrible. Cold, overpriced, joke worthy portioned food is what it’s come down to. The two stars are given because it suits having two young children with you. Head to The News for a better meal!

Why there is a line here I have no idea. Nothing about this place feels Vineyard-y… even the people inside, you get your fair share of meatheads… felt more like being in the city than on the Vineyard. A 5 dollar cover is fine, no big deal but the sweaty hot crowd on the dance floor in crazy — get some AC in this joint! And this was on a cool night so I can only imagine it in the heat of summer/August. Getting a drink was next to impossible… had to go to the make shift temporary bar in the middle and drink a beer which i had to wait 15 min for. and i hate beer. Bottles all over the dance floor — people kicking them aside etc. REALLYGOODBANDON A FRIDAYNIGHT if that counts for anything. Great covers and dancing if you dont mind sweating. Bathroom is ONESTALL. Pee before you go!

I was shocked to see that this place doesn’t have a higher rating! A group of friends and I came here for lunch and were beyond impressed. We were seated right away and everyone on the staff was extremely friendly. To start, we got the chowder fries as an appetizer. How can I even describe these?! They are heaven on earth. If you go, don’t hesitate… get them. For my meal, I ordered the fresh mozarella panini. It was also unreal! There was no shortage of mozzarella and the pesto pulled it all together. I also got the pasta salad instead of fries… this was also excellent. My friends got the linguica burger and scallops, and everyone cleaned their plate. I rarely ever write Unilocal reviews, but I knew I had to leave one for the Wharf. I wish I had this restaurant at home! This place will be a must every time I am back on the island.

I loved this place! The husband and I came here for lunch to refuel after biking from Oak Bluffs. The location is perfect as it’s right on Main Street where everything is. The atmosphere seems like what I would expect a place called the Wharf to look like. Cozy, dimly lit, darker furniture. And it was nice and busy. A lot of people like to complain when a restaurant is busy(i.e. too loud, slow service) but I love it. It means the place is doing its job. I ordered the fish and chips and the hubs ordered a turkey sandwich. My fish and chips were awesome! The fish was clearly fresh and the outside was perfectly crunchy. I’m not sure what they are using for the batter but it’s working. The hubs really enjoyed his turkey sandwich too. Our server was young and obviously this was a summer job for her but she was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the local beer. Something I’d like to highlight: One of the things I generally observe when I’m in a restaurant is how well the staff gets along with each other and if they seem like they enjoy being there. What I saw here was impressive. Although it was busy, all of the servers, hostesses were smiling, not only with their tables, but also laughing with each other. I also saw the general manager serving food(ours included) and laughing with customers. This level of enjoyment and teamwork is something most restaurants overlook, as it doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. But believe me we notice, and the Wharf, with it’s overall friendly atmosphere, created an environment that made me feel relaxed, comfortable, and very happy. Great job to the owners/manager who I consider responsible for that.
