Amazing Food ! I travel a lot for work and I’m always looking for new and delicious places. I was pleasantly surprised at Lucky Shushi ! The food was well prepared and very tasty. The service was excellent and all the staff was friendly ! They also had various opportunities for discounts. I had the chef’s bowl, very fresh, tasty and very good presentation!

First time here! Had lunch with my 2 sons. My Philadelphia roll was good, my oldest son rolls looked good. My other son ordered a bowl and chicken looked dry. I asked him if chicken was cold, he mentioned it was warm and it was dry. Looked like old chicken.

Great place! Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The sushi rolls are fresh and the create your own gives you a chance to experiment with your own ingredients.

So I’m originally from the valley and when I come down I make it a point to try new things. I was pleasantly surprised when I found lucky sushi bar. This was a recommendation from my sister and not only was the food amazingly fresh but the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The chef brought out two homemade original sauces for me to try. We ate so much I could hardly breathe but it was a happy pain and I will definitely be coming back, thank you lucky sushi!

I finally had the opportunity to visit this place tonight for dinner. I’m calling the concept disposable social media sushi. The premise here is that it’s a quick sushi eatery without the finer dining of some other local places like Kumori and Coast. Not that either of those places are«fine» dining but they use real plates. By disposable I mean all plates etc are throw away. I started with the spicy edamame. I’m a huge fan of the Angry Edamame from Kona Grill so these pale in comparison. The sushi was acceptable and it was served super fast. There is a very strong social media influence here. The prices on the menu are even based on social media posting. It’s weird at first but I did finally get the hang of it. The deco is very cool and trendy, something you would expect in downtown Austin or DC. Overall, I give it a good review because it’s quick and affordable. HOWEVER… the prices for sushi rolls are a little higher than Kumori which, in my opinion, has the monopoly on non-traditional sushi rolls. For that reason, I’d probably head to Kumori. But, if you care about great service and quick food, this place beats Kumori by a mile.

Very mediocre sushi. Service was OK, but our particular server couldn’t answer most of our questions.

Great food and great service. This place is not your usual sushi bar, but the tools won’t let you down.

This used to be my favorite place when it first opened. The portion sizes were HUGE and the food was amazing! Now, the portions have shrunk dramatically, the prices have gone up and they always get my order wrong. Very disappointed.

Went there for takeout. They were busy but I was greeted right away and someone took my order promptly. While I waited, I was offered some miso soup that too me was some of the best I had in the valley. Ate my roll at home and saw lots of the vegetables I ordered were cut big and fresh. I liked it, and my daughter who is vegetarian can’t wait to try it when she visits me soon. She loves sushi so we will have to see what she thinks.

I feel when this place opened, the service was great and food was fresh. Then the rice to filling ratio started getting heavy on the rice side and the rolls are sloppily cut in to too big of slices(8 maybe) to the point they fall apart. It’s quick and you hardly have to wait, but it’s simply that fast food sushi.

This is a cute little place. The food was ok but I’m very used to Kumori and I feel if I’m going to pay Kumori prices then serve me on a hard plate. This place uses paper plates. Basically I’m saying give me Kumori service if you are going to try to replicate Kumori. The rolls are cut way too thick. My daughter got a Fiji and it was fried thick with tempura all around. It looked like a chicken breast before they sliced it. Stay away from the fried rice, it’s bad. They have no business making fried rice. The miso soup was good but I had to pay for it. I don’t pay for it at Kumori. My go to roll is usually rice less. They only had one on the menu. The owners were there but don’t acknowledge patrons.

Their kitchen appears cluttered with junk on the counters where the cooks… I don’t want to call them chefs because they are not, prepare the dishes. I found a white dishrag with remnants of avocado plopped next to the raw salmon meat and another rag plopped onto an avocado half. Other than that. The restaurant dining is clean. I walked out. They need to shape up that open kitchen with all their papers, junk and clutter on the counters they prepare the food on.

This is an update… my 2nd visit like I said I would do for an overall rating. Again what really separate this place to other sushi places is the excellent customer service. Friendly and just enough check ups. I ordered a pot of hot tea and the waiter even offer to pour me a cup! He was the same guy from our 1st visit so I was very pleased the same service was the same. Another lady was also helping look over our table since it was 12+ ppl and she was extremely nice. I also ordered a a custom cucumber roll to see how it turned out. My last visit I noted the cucumber was a bit thick, this time it seem they took notes and made the cut more thin Now the sushi… ordered well over 10+ rolls and was pleased. Not the best I’ve had but worth coming back. Few highlight rolls were the roppongu, godzilla, and dragonroll. But there are a few things I like to suggest… keeping the rolls the way they are, but cut them smaller yielding let say 8 – 10 pieces vs 6−8…makes it easier to pick up and eat. The rolls could use some extra special sauces to drizzle over for extra color and flavor. The bowls I seem still lacks alot. This time the ratio of rice to sushi was like 5−1…yes there alot if veggies, but doesn’t cut it for me. When I have like ¾ of rice left and nothing else. Great service from the waiters, but owners… ehhh. seems like they too good to acknowledge customers even dropping $ 200 and making it about 50% of their daily sales at that time. Stick with the rolls, not the bowls.

What a bad sushi place! Ordered food and then told 15 minutes after ordering that they couldn’t serve that dish or the dish I wanted to replace it with. Will never go back again. My wife was given a roll she didn’t want and I was given a roll I didn’t even order.

Probably the best tasting sushi in the valley. So why the one star? The staff, the owner, the service. It’s a restaurant ruined by the people who own and work there. At full capacity, you can justify slow service but at a quarter full, it’s ridiculous to have to wait 25 minutes for water and 1 hour for a bowl of sashimi. This is a small restaurant where you can see the workers prepare your food. You can literally see them mess up orders, walk around the bar confused, hold order tickets in their hands and not put in orders. The scary part is that it’s not just the waiters who have a look of confusion in their eyes but the also manager and the owner have that look of profound confusion that makes me wonder if this is their first time ever working in a restaurant. Look, I’m being brutal here but this restaurant just fills me with a deep sense of disappointment and despair. The restaurant has delicious food, sushi that actually taste fresh, a great location, a cool hip setting, and even the music is great. But wow a big DISAPPOINTMENT with the people. They ruin it so well that it’s very off putting. I went here 3 times, THREETIMES! And in all those 3 times, I got 3 different excuses of why their service was horrendous. Thanks but no thanks, I came for sushi not excuses. The third time I was there, had two people sit next to me in the bar. Both were at the restaurant to pick up food that was ordered via phone. Both ordered an hour before getting there and both came in to find that the staff haven’t even begun making the food that was ordered an hour before. The anger was palpable and everyone could see that they weren’t going to come back. Look, I love the food but the people… disappointment
