I Waited a little longer than usual to get water and my drink order in but once those were settled, things flowed very well. The Crowne Filet was very nice — they give a hearty helping of bacon and caramelized onions to top your steak. Not a bad price, either, considering that the steak was cooked to the correct temp(medium), it was very tender, and the garlic mashed potatoes really made it come together. Service was a little on the slow side but can be forgiven with food and drinks(the Beach, Please is a delicious tropical cocktail!). I’m staying in the hotel another couple nights, so I may need to come back.

Was staying at the Crowne Plaza for business. Food was OK at best. Prices were very high. $ 17 for a Cobb salad. Had a Unilocal coupon for a free appetizer and they would not accept it. Just another sub par hotel restaurant.

For only $ 21 plus tax I got a nearly boneless chicken after hours. The chicken skin had those nummy feather pimples and the thigh oozed blood out of a very pronounced vein when i cut into it. Best of all it was made in 15 minutes– so fast, I highly suspect it was microwaved. Wish i would have planned ahead and gone anywhere else.

Ate here last night and the food was excellent. We had a large group(7) and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Sirloin and Shrimp, it was cooked exactly as I ordered, and the potatoes were delicious! I would definitely come here again!

Hadn’t been to Christie’s in about 7 years and probably won’t go back for at least a few more. Had a decent meal, but not good enough for the $ 85 pricetag, with tip, for two, with no alcohol. Had a side Caesar salad to start, which was quite good and my wife had a side salad, which was ok; the bread was decent, but not great. So, we’re at ~3 stars after the starters. I had the steak frites(NY strip, basically) with caramelized onions and a light sauce, which sounded good, but the steak was just ok, quality wise, and the sauce didn’t work so well with the steak. The parmesan crusted fries were mediocre — and I’m a fry nut, so that was disappointing — they could learn a few lessons on how to do cheese encrusted fries from Pithari(Greek restaurant in Highland Park), which does amazing feta-encrusted fries. My wife’s NY strip steak was also mediocre. Service was fine and décor is a bit drab, but I rarely factor those into a review, since I’m all about the food. We eat out a lot and I prefer to stick to places I love(I usually only review the 4-star or better places, but had a few minutes and put this one down).

Went here with the hubby and kids for father’s day last minute. Great little restaurant inside of a hotel. The steak was great. Would have given 5 stars if they were kid friendlier.

This experience was disappointing. In this case, we decided to order several appetizers to get an idea of the quality of the food. There were not many people at all there for dinner hour, which should’ve been our first clue. One server, one person bussing tables, and slow service with almost no one there. We placed an order for two appetizers and a side order of ratatouille. It took about a half hour in a near dead restaurant. When the order finally came, the calamari was under cooked and the breading was limp. Sent it back and told the waiter why. The shrimp and scallops appetizer was actually tasty. The ratatouille was also good. We had asked for an order of nachos to replace the calamari we sent back. A nice size order was brought to us, however, they use«cheese sauce» instead of real cheese. Mind you, this place is trying to be an up-scale restaurant. We told the waiter we don’t eat cheese from a can and sent it back, asking if they can re-make the item with real cheese. He came back to us and stated«that is the only cheese we have in the kitchen.» So I asked to speak with the manager. The House Captain comes to our table a few minutes later and says the manager is «in a meeting,» which I find fascinating, because there are hardly any employees or customers in the joint. So, I again state that I’d like to see the manager. Several minutes later, he comes out. Apparently, he’s also the cook. I explain the situation and ask him if the mac and cheese on their menu is frozen. He of course replies no, and then I ask him why it’s such a hassle to ask for real cheese on nachos. After talking a couple minutes about his«interpretation» of nachos, he agrees to make them with real cheese. In retrospect, we should’ve just left then. So, out of the kitchen comes the new order of nachos, which were about HALF the size of the ones we sent back. Some of them were burnt, and it looked as if he stripped the previous order down to salvage it, and that’s what we got returned to us, with almost no cheese to boot. Oh, and during that conversation with the manager, he pointed to the menu and said, «there are at least thirty items on the menu that people rave about.» There’s another red flag. Why aren’t ALL the selections on the menu worth raving about?

Came on Sunday night 2 adults with 2 kids. Ordered 3 stakes which all were 5 star. Also ordered lobster bisc soup and tiramisu cake, all been great. Place décor is very average as compare to food quality.

Albeit all the negative reviews, I decided to celebrate my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend at this steakhouse. One of the reasons I deducted a star was due to the reservation process. I had called around 3pm to ask if a reservation was necessary for only a party of two. The main desk receptionist was very adamant that due to it being a Saturday service, it would be imperative that I go ahead and make a reservation. I asked her if I could speak to someone at the restaurant but was told they wouldn’t be open for another 30 minutes. Long story short, I called two more times until finally a receptionist who knew the hours of the steakhouse said try back at 5pm. Needless to say, I placed a reservation and showed up at 6pm expecting a packed steakhouse and finding out we were the only ones there for probably the next half an hour or so(when we left there was probably 3 more tables at most). The staff was excellent. Our server was very attentive and cordial. Despite some reviews on here over grievances regarding wait time, I felt that food came out at a good pace and we didn’t seem to be looking at our watches at any point. My water was constantly attended to and I was asked several times if everything was okay which I appreciated. Onto the food! The appetizer was crab cake balls and french onion soup. Both were good. The crab cake was not seasoned well but still delicious. The onion soup was on par as well. My girlfriend ordered a seafood pasta dish. The scallops were a little over done but the rest of the dish was superb. The shrimp was excellent as well as the lobster. I ordered the coca-cola glazed prime rib. EXCELLENT. The glaze was amazing. Which reminds me after this I will probably try to look up how they did it. The potatoes were on point. All in all, I had a great experience. I would recommend friends here no question.

So it’s a steak house attached to a hotel, which is the primary reason it’s taken us a decade or so to visit(we only live 2 blocks away). The food was surprisingly good, not great but better than you would think. Q. However, you’re paying Steak House money in a place totally void of Steak House ambience, service and overall quality. Again, food was good but you can spend the same money somewhere better.

Restaurant is ok, meat came pretty good. However they only had one waiter and one busser for the whole place. Service level was slow, poor ability to take orders. Water tasted like it came from a toilet, unacceptable for a place that is trying to impress. Also they let people in in dirty work clothes. Ill come back only if ill be staying in this hotel and will want to drink

So it’s my Partner Birthday week. So we wanted to do something different. So we named everything different week. So im local but never been. But my boyfriend ordered out. He said Thier will be a take out charge of 10% after we ordered at that. But I order the Buffalo shrimp salad. It was just fried fishy shrimp in a bed of greens not even a salad. $ 15 It wasn’t edible cause the greens it was mixed was extremely fire Hot. Horrible!!! I ordered the fried calamari. I could tell you thier was exactly 6 tentacles and maybe 12 rings for $ 10. Knock it off. It was so hard and chewy it wasn’t edible either. And it was fish too. I spit it out in my garbage. Shame on you. You need better service and a new chef. I will never recommend. Nor will I ever have this place in thoughts.

Boyfriend just moved to the area and we were looking for a classy place to celebrate. Saw this place advertised and thought we’d try it out. Very easy to spot inside the Crown Plaza hotel. The décor is very elegant but with a relaxed feel, especially with the bar playing footballs games. It certainly didn’t feel like a sports bar though and we had a nice, quiet dinner without any of the men at the bar getting loud or rowdy. The menu was great and the food was well worth the price. Nice wine list and ours was worth the $ 12 a glass. The food took a little while to come out but the staff did apologize and it was worth the wait. They bring you a few dinner rolls to occupy you while you wait. They weren’t exactly fresh, but not bad either. We had plain, poppy and sesame. Overall I really enjoyed dinner here and will definitely be back. It’s hard to find a nicer place to go with food worth the price and a nice atmosphere. Did I also mention they do breakfast, lunch and dinner? I was really happy to hear that. This place is small though so I would recommend calling ahead to see if they think you’ll need a reservation. We went late night on a Monday and it wasn’t exactly busy, but not empty either.

Good service. Okay location with parking lot(it’s in the crown plaza hotel). We had shrimp and clams appetizer to start and we had herb salmon and steak frites. Overall food was good. Food took little time to get, but overall okay dinner experience. We went as Social Living customer. Price overall average to expensive side.

This place is terrible and not at all suitable for a Crowne Plaza Hotel. The service was sub-par, the food was barely edible. Table service seemed slightly better than bar service. The first question you should ask the server is «what is available?», three items I requested were unavailable. How the Heck, do you run out of Mayonnaise! The bartender accidentally put club soda instead of Coke in my drink and instead of starting over he just added Coke on top! Then when he brought my food, he stuck his fingers in my dipping sauce! Gross! I won’t return!

Am I extremely critical? You bet, but I am also fair, so keep that in mind when reading this review. I originally bought a Groupon for Christie’s to take my brother and the girl he’d was dating out. It’s near them, and I thought it would be a good outing for them and my girlfriend. They ended things, so the Groupon just sat until another girl came into his life. I looked at scheduling something with them and to use the Groupon, but discovered it it expires that day. So, I found a couple of people that wanted a free meal and off we were. I figured that the $ 59 for four entrees and two apps was a great deal, but like most things that seem to good to be true, it was. I was really disappointed in the food and ambiance here. The service was good, but could use a little bit of improvement. The ambiance here is really bad and a couple of thousand dollars could really improve it. The lighting could use some upgrades, and the walls are bear. To really make an improvement, they should invest in taking over the terrace walkways that steals the windows from the restaurant. The architectural genius that designed this place must have gotten his degree at Middlesex Community college with barely passing grades and then went onto design that mistake of a mall: Meadowlands Xanadu. It’s confined, drab, and you feel trapped. The service was pretty good though, and I really can’t complain about much. The place was empty(Monday night), so I would have liked a little more attention. We had to ask for refills, and that should be a given at a quality establishment. Plates were also left on the table too long after we finished. The staff did however react kindly and quickly to our requests for olive oil. One major downgrade in points was when one of my friends asked for ginger-ale. We were told that the soda dispenser was broken for the ginger-ale. I suggested that Walmart is right across the street. Management should be a little more forward thinking. The food was a disappointment to me, but my friends enjoyed it… mind you they were getting a free meal. I had the shrimp and crab chowder, shrimp and scallops wrapped in bacon, and the rib-eye with asparagus and broccoli. A movie quote from Top Gun ran through my mind while trying a few spoonfuls of the shrimp and crab chowder. Stinger: «And if you screw up just this much, you’ll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber dog sh*t out of Hong Kong!» I’m usually eat anything, but this stuff was rubber dog sh*t. It had the consistency of jarred gravy and even had some underlining taste of it. That underling taste was overshadowed by what tasted like a puréed gym sock that was worn 10 weeks straight in a tropical climate in gym shoes that are almost falling apart. It was rancid, and I have never had a chowder this bad before. I had three spoonfuls and thought i would get sick eating the rest. This was the first time I have ever turned back food. I offered to pay for it, but they took it off the bill. That was a kind gesture, but it should have never come out of the kitchen in my opinion. The scallops were delicious, but it only came with two of them. They were very sweet, and cooked perfectly. I was really turned off at this point though, so it was hard to get to the next level with me. The main dish was okay, but for a steakhouse I was little disappointed. The meat could have been seasoned better. It was okay though considering the price though. Had I paid full price, I would have been extremely disappointed. Price shouldn’t be relative in my experience here though. A Groupon is a way for an establishment to open the door to future business, and I really don’t feel like Christie’s earned it from me.

About 5 years ago, I had one of the greatest steaks I’ve ever tasted at Christie’s. Unfortunately, that was not the case there last night(5÷11÷14). The server was unfamiliar with their steak cuts and different methods of preparation. It was a slow Sunday night, only 2 other tables of people in the house(4 people apiece) yet it took quite a long time for our food to come out. I was very specific in my request for how the steak should be prepared and it came out overcooked and dry… and believe me, that is not what I asked for. My wife ordered a shrimp dish, which consisted of about 1⁄8 shrimp and 7⁄8 pasta. Neither of these dishes were cheap, being in the mid — high $ 20 range. My wife also ordered a dessert, which was mediocre. With 1 glass of wine apiece and 1 cup of tea apiece, the whole meal came to over $ 80 before tip… one of the worst values I’ve ever had. I hope Christie’s can get it back together… they are slipping badly.
