Best night! The manager Anthony and waiter Kevin made our night so special! The food was delicious and the service outstanding! From the warm bread to sizzling steak to coffee — delicious!

Went there for lunch today. What a disappointing experience it was. I ordered the steak quesadilla and after what seemed like eternity(approximately 20 minutes) it was brought to us and when I bit into it, it was a stringy doughy mess, no sign of any meat. I assumed maybe the next piece will have meat in it. No such luck, just a one inch piece of steak, I proceeded to open up the remaining two pieces of quesadilla with the same results, a tiny piece of meat in each triangle of quesadilla. The cheese too was stringy and messy. They shouldn’t call it steak quesadilla and change it to string cheese quesadilla. When I mentioned it to the server, the reaction was oh well. I guess the server couldn’t do much. They should start closing again and open at 4 pm like they used to. I guess Aussies don’t do quesadillas

Great food and great staff. My go-to restaurant in Edison. It can be busy on a Saturday night, so you may have to wait a few minutes for a table, but it’s always worth it. Go for the ribeye, so much flavor. The bloomin onion is a must, of course. And the chocolate thunder is their signature dessert. It never disappoints. There’s a lot of outbacks in the area but we find this one to be the best.

So let me start by saying, I use to own part of a food establishment, so I never say anything bad. My other reviews are all positive, but this place was really bad. Aside from the fact their Filet Minion and sides did not impress me, the waiter was Horrific. It was a slow night and he wanted to hang out with his friends, so he sat down with them at the next booth. They forgot the bread, then delivered 2 Filets and had zero utensils on the table. We had to ask for the bread, then the forks and knives, and interrupt him with his friends for these requests. The person I was with runs a kitchen in a busy place, and was in disbelief. I picked the place… Embarrassing! I gave it 2 stars like I gave a 10% tip. Might be the smallest tip I left in 30 years. A mess.

There was one huge downfall of Outback that bothered my boyfriend and I the ENTIRE time I was there. There was a lamp hanging from the booth that was SO bright and in our faces that our eyes hurt the entire meal. The best way to describe it would be one of those detective lamps that they use when they say«where were you on the night of???» That’s not exactly my idea of a romantic date… Hahaha. We chose to try to ignore it instead of switch tables, which was impossible! So don’t make the same mistake we did. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience at Outback for the most part. They start each table with a warm soft loaf of pumpernickel bread with whipped butter. I think it’s safe to say we are the entire thing within less than 1 minute of it being at the table;) and of course asked for another. I ordered the 6oz outback sirloin with mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. I was so impressed when looking at the bill and my meal was only $ 11.99! Hands down my favorite part was the garlic mashed potatoes – seriously loved them. I was so close to passing on the mashed potatoes to be a little healthier and order extra veggies. Ahhhh, thank god I didn’t! Although I enjoyed my sirloin and mushrooms, I was disappointed that both were spicy. I tolerate spicy food, but don’t like it whatsoever. I have no idea why they’d even make those 2 items spicy in the first place. As for the service, it was fast and we liked our sever very much. It was a little awkward with her taking our orders near the insanely bright light at our table though. I could barely even see her face… Hahaha. Overall, I’d come back to Outback. It’s great for a cheap steak dinner! Next time I’d definitely ask for a different table if I’m seated at those booths again and I’ll ask which foods are spicy before ordering.

11/12/2015 Food: Everything is under seasoned and the food was served sloppily on their plates. Service: Sloppy, forgot our order and had to ask for it over and over. Environment: Problems with lighting, fairly annoying…

I’ve always loved Outbacks food and they didn’t disappoint this time either. Too bad the service wasn’t as good as the food. I made a spur of the moment decision to come eat here. Came in alone and was seated right away. Not many people in the place. I was sitting at my table for about 15 minutes. Staff kept passing by me looking and not saying anything. Finally I get up an ask the busser if there’s a waiter. He comes 5 minutes later and I tell him I’ve been waiting for awhile already. He says, «Ok, do you know what you want? Acknowledging, but totally ignoring what I said.» No apology, no nothing. Then in top of that, the food took a little too long to come out. At least that was good. Overall, may be awhile before I come back here…

Not a family friendly restaurant, went them with my little one and 3 other adults, looks like the whole restaurant only has 4 people bench table, we had to put the baby in the carrier on the middle of walkway, the walkway is so narrow, every time the Waiter or waitress walking by with a whole tray of food or plates/silverware, I’m afraid they gonna knock over the baby and drop stuffs on top of the baby. We were so thirsty but the waiter never come by to refill our water, and the steak we ordered came out cold, blooming onion didn’t fried well, because some area the flour still raw.

Where should I begin? The server that acted like he was walking on death row so full of misery, the disgusting«prime rib» or the appetizer portion enough to fill up a birds’ stomach? I came here for my mother’s birthday upon the recommendation of a co-worker… What a fail that was. We ordered the volcano shrimp and lobster to start with. We were served 6 popcorn shrimps and what appeared to be bread crumbs covered in sauce(supposed to be lobster) for $ 10.95. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the server his immediate rebuttal was, «I’ll take it off the check». Cool man, but that’s not what I wanted. I wanted a decent appetizer. So he took it back and proceeded. Next, for dinner, I had a prime rib and lobster tail entrée. What I received was a slab of fat on a plate and an ice cold lobster tail. I called over the manager and expressed my issues, he ensured me that he’ll get me a new order in a timely fashion. The manager came over about 10 minutes later with a new entrée for me. This was a beautiful cut of prime rib, piping hot and cooked to to perfection. The manager spent a few minutes aside our table in an attempt to make things better. He handled the issue very professionally and to the best of his abilities. Dessert took about 15 minutes to get to our table for a scoop of ice cream. All in all, I gave Outback 2 stars based on the professional manager and his willingness to make things better for us. I don’t think I’ll be going back to outback unless I’m brought there against my will.

In all the years we’ve gone here, my family has only had one of two problem visits. I’ll chalk that up to new/inexperienced servers in those instances. We typically request Andrew or Shannon if they are available. Our family appreciates true good service, including not having to ask to refill my drink, attentiveness by the server, anticipating our needs, etc. On all of these marks, these servers are impeccable.

Came here for my feyonce’s bday and our server was very helpful and knowledgeable. We ordered the bone in ribeyes which were sooooo delicious and huge .I highly recommend splitting one because of the size. Also delicious desserts. Great time, we will definitely be back

I’ve been here twice and have had a bad experience both times. The first time started off well. We got our drinks and appetizer right away. And then we waited a good 45 mins for our steaks to come out. A manager came up to us once letting us know that the steaks are on the way and that they were overcooked… But 45 minutes for medium rare? Really? The second time I went there was with a larger group and the service was awful. Everyone around me got their food and they messed up on my entrée. I asked for the filet mignon and they brought out something completely different. I had to wait another 20 minutes for my steak while everyone else around me is looking at dessert menus. The manager came by and delivered my steak and there was no apology or anything. I’ve worked in a restaurant for a good amount of time and when I go out to eat, I do feel for the servers but this was pretty ridiculous. Overall bad experience

I went to dinner here with three other people. We called about 20 minutes ahead of time. When we got there we told the wait was going to be thirty minutes, but it was less than ten, so that’s pretty great. We enjoyed the complimentary bread and butter and shared a bloomin’ onion, which was smaller than I remember, and all the petals were stuck together… but still tasty. I have a small appetite and I only ordered one thing for dinner, a bowl of potato soup with no bacon. What I got was a bowl of potato soup with bacon. Sigh. Had a couple blackberry martinis, they were delicious and reasonably priced. My mother’s steak, which she ordered medium, was not evenly cooked. It was anywhere from medium rare to well done depending on where you cut into it and how close to the center you were. I covertly asked the staff if they could do anything for us because we were celebrating my mother’s birthday. They said sure, and offered to bring over a complimentary scoop of ice cream with a candle in it. I was totally thrilled, thanked them profusely, and took my seat. Now listen. I have worked in food service, I know how annoying it is to do the birthday thing. But you know what? When it was part of my job, I did it loudly and cheerfully and with a smile on my face. When they finally came over to sing Happy Birthday, I swear it was the most unenthused rendition of the song I’ve ever heard. I could see the look of relief on the servers’ faces when it was over. What the hell, guys? You know it makes a person feel real shitty when it’s totally obvious that you don’t want to be wishing them a happy birthday. I know you don’t want to be, but if you can stand to pretend for a minute, it can really make a difference in a person’s day. I provided better customer service when I worked at frickin’ Taco Bell.

We are equidistant between the Old Bridge location and the Edison location. After trying both locations over a period of years, we’ve come to the conclusion that this one in Edison is better. Surprisingly, not as crowded as Old Bridge, and fortunately much smaller. Drinks were OK. Bloody Mary had a lot of ice, but was only $ 5. The 22oz Sam Adams was good. Took a while for a waitperson to show up initially, took a while to get the drinks. Refill showed up promptly. Opted for the usual filet mignon/rare(Mrs I) and the 14oz rib eye/medium rare. Food arrived quickly. Their salads(chop salad and caesar salad) are excellent. Steaks were cooked perfectly, juicy and well flavored. Accompanying loaded baked and french fires were very good. I would have preferred a thicker cut of the rib eye, maybe closer to 1″ than the slightly over ½″ thick cut that was provided. But hard to fault the steak — still very good. I would repeat one of the comments from an earlier review — your waitperson takes the order, comes back once or twice to check, but the food is sort of slapped on the table by runners who have no idea who ordered which item. Could be improved.

Ordered take-away on Friday night after a day of travel. They forgot one of our lobster tails, so we had to drive back and the manager attempted to compensate us with coupons for free appetizers, but gave us expired coupons. They took their green beans off the menu and didn’t contact us when we asked for them on the order. This review is so low due to poor customer service. Outback food was as expected from the chain.

Was excited to go to Outback tonight. My friend ordered a house salad with ½ slab baby back ribs and baked sweet potato.(firstly, they charged her for her salad which we didn’t understand. her ribs were over $ 16 and they only gave her 1 side) I got the 6oz sirloin with mixed veg and baked potato. we were starving… by the time the food got to our table we couldn’t wait to dive in. Much to our disappointment my baked potato was old. Now I grew up on a farm and am quite familiar with how food is made. My potato tasted like they had baked them that morning, let them sit around all day and then threw one in the microwave come order time to heat it up. The outside was dry and wrinkled. The inside had that hard old potato taste… my steak was miniscule — which in itself was ok if I could fill up on my sides. I took a gamble and sent the potato back and my replacement potato was exactly the same — except this one got nuked in the microwave for an extra minute. my friends salad was DRENCHED in dressing. she didn’t say anything but I could tell by the way she was picking at it that it was wilted and soggy. Her baby back ribs were fatty and tough. She had a hard time chewing them. And with every bite I could see her fighting the gristle/tough meat and the fat was pulling away in chunks… we thought baby back ribs were supposed to fall off the bone? The only redeeming food item was her sweet potato and the bread basket, which I wish I had eaten more of… yup. i wish I had eaten more bread at a restuarant. how sad is that? we felt so bad for our server. Michael tried really hard and was attentive. but it was not his fault. its whichever chef they have in the kitchen… all in all we spent $ 50 incl tip and it sucked. we came home hungry NEVER going back there again…

Good location! Honestly, I don’t like the chain, I never loved the restaurant and much rather prefer another dining destination. With that said, this location rocks! All the servers are great and actually do their job well. For a cheaper steakhouse, they have great deals and the chefs know how to cook a mean medium rare filet. The great service and the deals is why I go back. I won’t ever go to another location besides this one. They literally rock here

Only thing worst than the food was the service and the manager. Food served ice cold and the manager tells me that prime rob is made that way. As far as the wait staff. I have to learn my lesson and not frequent restaurants where your server only takes your order and then you get a mix of people who could care less about u or your order. Do not eat here
