My wife ordered burgers today and we were given the wrong order which the counter person refused to take back.0 stars
Worst service ever.

Burger is good the problem at this location is the service. OMG They leave off your toppings that suppose to come with the burger like really. The hay stack onion rings they burn them & there always cold. Then you ask them to fix it and like they have a attitude. Not good. They always mess up my burger. I rather go to another location instead. This location needs training in service ASAP. Menlo park location. Go elsewhere.

I don’t live close to a smash burger, however I ordered from the online website. My pick up time had said 7:45. I took the 30 minute drive to Menlo. No complaints so far. We pull up to the mall at 7:30. My husband finally decides to go in at 7:40 while I was in the car because the baby was asleep. (Ok let me get back on track) as my husband is on the line (pick up order line) I am texting him to make sure he knows where to go etc. he’s standing there and the lady is calling out other people’s name. «Keith», «John», «etc» … None which are my husband. It is now 7:55… (10 minutes after the schedule pick up) my husband said the lady never asked him once if he needed help or was being helped) he was the only one online at this point… Standing there for more then 20 minutes now. He isn’t talkative much. So i decided to give the restaurant a call because it is now 8:15. When I call the lady I ask her if everything was ok with our online order because my husband has been waiting for a half hour. She proceeds to tell me all online order has been picked up. I said can’t be, I have my confirmation and my husband is on line waiting. I hear her talking to a another lady saying, what’s the online bag there say? And then she tells me she will find my husband. Ugh so frustrating. He finally comes out and we drive our way back home to eat semi cold food. When I get home, I look in the bag, and of course my sons drink for his kids meal isn’t there. Greeeeat. All that and now a almost 3 year old who’s been waiting patiently for his drink. Whatever, I go to bite my burger… BOOOM something else is wrong. I requested NOO ranch dressing on my burger, but did request chipotle mayo. Nope… Just ranch.

Great addition to Menlo Park Mall’s food court. We had eaten at other locations and our first time at this location was close to closing time on a weekend. We were worried that we would feel uncomfortable and rushed (you know how workers will usually give you attitude when you’re coming into their workplace so near to closing time), but the guy who took our order didn’t do this. In addition, there was someone starting to clean and sweep the floors, but they stayed away from us. The burgers and fries were good and the fries didn’t taste like left-​over or re-​fried fries (which I was weary of so close to close). My go-​to burger is usually the Avocado Club which comes with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Ranch Dressing, Mayo, in addition to the Lettuce and Tomato and it’s on a Multi-​grain bun so I feel like I’m being «good».
Can never get enough burger spots in my opinion, so I’m happy about there being a Smashburger in Menlo!

Their burgers literally taste delicious. The fact that you can actually order what you do and do not want on it is amazing. Essentially the add-​on options provided are extensive and well selected.
Extremely friendly wait staff.
The smash fries are a little sad and thin but the seasoning they put on them is very good.

They have AWESOME Burgers. This is one of my favorite places for Burgers. I am also Vegetarian. This place can convert any burger to vegetarian burger. They have black bean patty…

Didn’t enjoy this array of unbalanced flavored. The egg bun definitely tastes like a straight up fried egg. I appreciate a hint of egg flavor not flavor that’s wham in your face. Speaking of which the truffle mushroom burger is just too much of everything. Too salty to oily too much truffle flavor which is unnecessary because there are already a ton of mushrooms. My palette can usually take a lot of flavor but this was excessive. I know it’s a chain so I shouldn’t expect much but Five Guys does it much better. Five Guys tastes more natural. They keep it simple and fresh.

Overpriced mediocre food. The «Big» burger was no more than 6 ounces so I’m guessing the «Reg» size isn’t much bigger than a White Castle slider. The fries were waaaay too salty and are too thin to eat easily. A bottle of water for $ 2.29?! C’mon. $ 14 wasted on lunch.

First time here and i must say it was decent. Def some shake shack vibes coming from this place. Can’t be compared though. We ordered 2 smash burger originals and fries. I ordered mine without onions cause I don’t like raw onion. But ofc they forgot and when I opened my burger it was filled with onion. Boo. But I picked them out, still had onion taste in the burger though. But other then that the burger was decent. A bit dry for my taste but still good since it was my first meal of the day.
Price is similar to shake shack so if I were to choose I’d spend my money at shake shack.
The fries were too thin for my taste and oily. It was like eating fried oil? Does that make sense lol.

Service was very great and quick when they opened but unfortunately it has gone downhill along with the quality of the food. Some days the food seems to take forever even when the restaurant isn’t busy and they’re understaffed. Also a bit ridiculous you have to show your receipt to the manager in order to use the restrooms

During my most recent experience last week, the host (name is Brittany according to the receipt) took my to-​go order and I walked over to my mom, who was seated, just to confirm that she didn’t want cheese on her burger. The host then yelled in an accusatory tone from the register, «Excuse me, is there something wrong???» I turned and looked around to see who she was talking to and she was looking right at me. Wtf! I must have looked confused enough for her to realize she was yelling at me for no reason. If I didn’t pay already, I would have walked out.
Over my several visits here I’ve noted that they’re slow to clean tables (example: three tables unoccupied and none were clear of food and trash until we asked, and even then they didn’t wipe down the table) and customers are always sending back food or having issues with the to-​go orders. Already complained on their website, I hope they do something about this location. The customer service is unreal, in the worst way.

Earlier this week I witnessed a customer return an incorrect sandwich after leaving the store with it. The kitchen employee then realizes his mistake & tells the counter employee to hand this same sandwich to a little boy who I noticed had been waiting a very long time.
I was very uncomfortable with how this little boys money had been taken, he was made to wait over 15 mins, and was given a burger that had left the store. The employee that handed him the burger had no idea whether it was bitten or what could have happened to it.
I addressed both employees that took part in this very distasteful event (the kitchen and counter rep) only to be dismissed as if this was acceptable practice. I then told the little guy to give the USED sandwich back and take me to his mom so that I could let her know how her child was treated. I was very disappointed to see a child being taken advantage of. By the way, there was no management to be found.

I Love Smashburger except this location. Please oh please don’t try to give the cooks in the back extra work like extra toppings in your burger! it will make their mind explode, information overload. These guys can never follow simple friggin instructions. Extra onion strings with spicy mayo sauce and pepper jack cheese is too much for them to remember even though it’s printed in the darn receipt. Where do they find the cooks for this place, they need to start looking for a new one. This is the 3^rd time it has happened to me. Shame on me for even going and giving them a 3^rd chance.

Customer service was on the meh end. When I arrived to the establishment the person at the counter was talking to an individual instead of placing my order. Overall tho, the wait time on the burger was quick and they offered me a free coupon for one side which was awesome so it pretty much evened out.
The food was a mix bag. I ordered the Jalepeno Baja Burger with drink and fries. The main problem was that there was literally no jalapenos on my burger and it was not spicy whatsoever (As being jalapenos being the first word you would think that this would be the main item). Everything else tho tasted great and fresh.
The fries just stunk. They were small and tasted like they were in a deep fryer for too long. Now I understand that this is not Five Guys but for paying more I expected some sort of quality.
Soda was refillable and it was just like any fast food joint.
for the price they offered I was not impressed. Too small portioned in terms of hyped condiments and bland fries. The only thing that was great was the quality of the burger and the customer service. If you want a better burger then go somewhere else.

Friendly cashier, food carrier, and table cleaner. The people representing this location do a fine job.
The burger itself was actually pretty tasty but everything else about it was pretty meh. The egg bun was falling apart, their smash sauce was kind of bland and I actually added ketchup. The piece of lettuce they put on the burger was more like a piece used to garnish a stuffed filet of sole in a diner. You know, the kind you immediately remove from your plate because it looks like something you don’t want to eat.
I absolutely hated the smash fries. The menu says they are tossed in live oil, rosemary, and garlic. I don’t doubt they were tossed in rosemary and garlic but they were drenched in olive oil. I had to twice try to remove some of the oil with my napkin. And since they are served very thin, they tasted soggy.
I might go back again for just a burger or maybe to try something with chicken. There is a «build your own burger» where I could probably make a better topping and bun selection.

Fresh and somewhat healthier alternative to BK and Mac. There is not much to write here besides the fact that the place is clean and food is fresh. The staff is dedicated and provides sit down restaurant style service with no extra charge of tips.
The food is made fresh. I really like the grill chicken Baja burger and smash fries. The prices are justified by the quality of the food.

Orders are taken quickly at the register and you are given the option of dining in or taking out. When you dine in, you’re given placard with a number. A server then brings your food out to you.
I ordered the black bean avocado burger with smash fries. The burger was a lot bigger than the bun and pepper jack cheese was melted in it with only two slices of avocado (last time I was here I was given 4 skies). The burger was perfection. It was smooth, a bit spicy (from the cheese) and cool from the avocado and lettuce. He smash fries are flavored, warm, and some are crunchy. The ones on the bottom were a teeny bit soggy. Definitely coming again when I have a bit appetite and up for going the Menlo Park Mall

I think this place is absolutely disgusting. It’s not clean and, while they will «brick» the stovetop grill if you’re a vegetarian, they don’t really clean it off so your food will taste like beef.
The entire place smells like cow carcass.
The only cool thing is that the to-​go ketchup comes in a small plastic container that’s shaped like a Heinz ketchup bottle.
Otherwise, stay away!!! There are so many better options out there.
