My husband and I had a really disappointing experience on the drive through tonight. The girl working the drive through window was extremely dismissive and kept forgetting what we asked for. We got home and noticed no napkins and she forgot my dipping sauces for my chicken strips. So lame.

You have to watch the cashier the person literally tried to steal my money told me that the computer automatically generates a receipt even though there isn’t money in my account told me I had to pay again I almost had to hurt the guy to speak with his manager after things were settled they still made me pay for the order charged my card 3 times

It was my first time ever having Pope’s it was alright. Hated hated hated their hot sauce gross. Tasted like Tabasco sauce so if you like that I’m sure you’ll like it. The biscuts was good. And i wish I tried soemthing else instead of frys. Now the customer service was very good thou. Surprising for fast food and there where very quick. Place was clean. I’ll go back. So It wasn’t a bad experience. I just thought the chicken would be different .

My family rarely has takeout food but on a super hot day when I am not cooking we chose this for drive thru dinner. We have had chicken here many of times and we do like the chicken flavor even though it is fried and not really all that healthy… when ordering a family meal that includes 2 large sides be prepared to only get a half filled container of your side item… I even ordered a small single serving of cole slaw and that container was only half filled. There was literally about 4 teaspoons to that serving.

Have been there 2 times and always encountered unfriendly cashiers. One of them even a female shift leader! Chicken tastes are never improved, too salty. Parking space are enough for the size of restaurant.

I love the chain but I don’t love this place. I ordered a 4 piece chicken, and I swear they gave me wings ! Very small pieces I get it that ya might get a small piece sometimes but 4 ! I’ll give em one more chance.

The Ghost Pepper Wings are very tasty! Extremely excellent customer service. When I walked in, I received a welcome with a hello and a smile from the cashier. The manager even walked by, smiled and said hello. Customer service is always number one and of course good food. This location has both.

Seriously the experience I had at this Popeyes was amazing ! The chicken and biscuit were on point. The customer service was awesome as well. Even if it was 30 minutes before closing they still took our order.

Came here for lunch the other day. The food was really bad. The strips weren’t even done well. And they just threw my fries into a bag ! Seriously, dang !! They weren’t even paying attention i heard them laughing and telling jokes over the telecom. Until a few days ago i was never dissatisfied with«Popeyes».

Came here for a quick lunch. Went through the drive through. The lady who took my order was rude, she was talking to someone else, I could barely hear her. I had to drive up to the window so she could take my order she was to busy talking to another employee. I was so hungry that when I got in the car and drove off I noticed she forgot to put ranch and the sauce I asked her to. Their was no other customers she couldn’t even do my order right! I was really upset I had to wait to get home to eat! If they can’t do one thing right then why are they working there! She wants even busy! Will never stop by Popeyes again!!!

I don’t like to review chain restaurants. It’s like fighting city hall– you’re never gonna change what they do by offering your input. That said, my weakness for Popeye’s chicken dictates that I must review this place. It’s no different than any other Popeye’s. It’s fast food with a drive through. This one’s in a very crowded parking lot and probably has service on par with the others. I wish it wasn’t on the way to work– I’d probably instantly lose 20lbs if it closed! WHENYOUGO– Greasy, overly spicy chicken with crust so crispy you know it’s bad for you. Delicious biscuits and salty incredible beans and rice. If this is your only experience with Cajun food, get yer ass to Bud’s for the real deal. If you happen to be from the South and grew up with this stuff, noting can replace it.

I grew up going to the Popeye’s in National City it was there long before all the other Popeye’s were. This El Cajon branch has almost all ways let me down. 3 out of 5 times… Chicken tastes like it has been fried in old oil. It’s really gross. I ask for spicy and get regular or regular mixed with spicy. If you don’t have enough spicy I can wait 5 min. Or get a clue and start making more spicy. The manager will fix their mistake while denying it to the bitter end. Why… I do not know. Go to Rolando/College or National City locations they are Popeye’s at it’s best and you will notice the difference!!!

My kids love Popeyes and today was their lucky day. The food is better than average for a fried chicken joint. Today’s drive thru team was not the best. Usually not the case.

I love, love, love Popeye’s. I was really sad when they closed our local Popeye’s, but whenever we head into the El Cajon area we make it a point to at least hit up the drive through to take something home. The food is fantastic: KFC, Church’s and other fast food chicken places should take note! Every time we’ve been here, the restaurant is sparkling clean, the food comes out hot and fresh, and the staff is friendly. A+

I had a mixed experience at Popeye’s. I would like to start by saying that the service was great. It was fast and reliable. I went inside to make my order, not the drive-thru. I ordered the 5 chicken strip combo with medium spice and included 2 sides and 2 biscuits. I had the Cajun rice and mashed potatoes for $ 5.99 with a coupon. The Good: The chicken strips were excellent. The were very crispy on the outside and very moist and the inside. The biscuits were very good as well and certainly met my expectations.( ) 4 stars. The Bad: The mashed potatoes were okay. There is something to be said for powdered mashed potatoes. Well, not much. The gravy was okay but it had a slight burnt flavor. 3 stars. The Ugly: The Cajun rice was very disappointing. It was over cooked and mushy. Mushy rise is not a good thing because it tastes very starchy. I would assume, it had been sitting in the steamer for quite a while. 2 stars. Overall the experience averages out to 3 stars. Love those chicken strips and biscuits!

I’ve been eating Popeyes for over 20 years so it’s weird reviewing them. It’s fast food fried chicken. I love the crunch on it, especially the spicy version. The southern flavors are so present. I love the spicy gravy on the mashed potatoes too. If you like spicy shrimp get the popcorn shrimp. They not only taste great, but they are fun to eat. The only negative for this location, they do not have«sparkle» a cajun spice that I like to sprinkle on my chicken:( The drive-thru is a breeze.

I went and it was kind of busy but not too overwhelming. The service was kind of slow and I had to wait for my chicken strips which isn’t always the worst thing since they are always super fresh and hot. The restaurant is clean and smells delicious. I would say Popeyes is better then KFC but that’s just my opinion. The chicken is really crispy and fresh. I love how the flavors taste from the staple Louisiana Creole flavors. I will be back but I can only give it three stars due to the slow service. Maybe next time it will be better.
