Great little corner dive café. Food was amazing! Limited seating and the front counter where you order can get pretty crowded. All in, well worth the stop!

Stopped by on a friday evening for dinner and was very impressed.(NOTE they are open much later now since new ownership took over). I had been here previously when it was primarily a breakfast place, and liked it then, but I like it even more now. The lunch and dinner menu is simple(mainly sandwiches and salads) but fresh and tasty. The outdoor patio was perfect on the day we were there as it was unusually sunny — there is some partial views of the ocean from the patio. We had a greek salad and cubano sandwich — both were excellent and service was great. They also serve beer and wine(and of course coffee). I believe you can get breakfast items anytime of the day(which is nice when you have a hankering for breakfast late in the day). If you are in the mood for something casual but still high quality and are in the area definitely check it out!

This off-the-beaten path breakfast spot is worth the pit stop. We were looking for a dog-friendly breakfast location with homemade cuisine and Café Classique did not disappoint. The bagels are made fresh daily, the coffee is delicious and the food is fresh, unique and surprising. Especially given the restaurants humble exterior. I tried Jenn’s Bagel(take a look at this beauty) and absolutely loved it!

Ok based upon our choices which may have not been the best as we were not super hungry. Poppy seed bagel and cream cheese was decent as was the Kona blend coffee. Buckwheat pancake was not good(dense and no flavor) and came with high fructose corn syrup Mrs Butterworths(a little strange for supposedly healthy food place) and poached egg was broken and watery. No cinnamon rolls today either. Next table’s burrito with browned potatoes looked good as did the salad and fresh fruit.

It’s not much of a secret that this Coastside gem is under new ownership/management, even though they haven’t changed the name(yet) or made a public splash… but secret or not, it’s BIG news. Chef Dan Spangler has introduced a lunch/dinner menu of grilled sandwiches, small plates, and salads that are positively to-die-for scrumptious! I’ll write a longer review once the name changes, but you don’t need to wait. They’re now open until 9PM(2100 for us sailor types) Tue-Sat, so go check them out for dinner.

Great breakfast place in half moon bay! I had a bagel sandwich with eggs, spinach onions etc. the spinach was fresh and flavorful and the bagel was perfect and didn’t break your jaw. Pancake was fluffy and tasty. Coffee is perfect too! Will definitely be back.

Husband and I are eating here right now. I had the breakfast burrito sans salsa and hubby got the huevos rancheros. We are devouring our food! Excellent — we will definitely come back when we’re visiting the area again. Yum!!!

Food is great and coffee is pretty good. Reason for the two stars is that the younger girl that works here has a really bad attitude(most of the young people here come off as having an attitude) and on top of that the place closes whenever it wants to around 12 in the afternoon. Would give it 4 stars if the place stayed open longer and had smiling happy people behind the counter. I would give it 5 stars if they cleaned the cobwebs and general appearance of the patio area, had more inside seating, and bussed tables quickly.

They’re doing so many things right in this little coastside gem. MUSTGETTHEBAGELS! I was so impressed that I asked where they got them… they make them in-house! Coffee is great, the space is cozy, nice covered patio, people are super friendly. What an awesome way to start the day!

Adorable little place with fresh pastries and good food. Had the Denver omelette which did not skimp on portions. I did not care for the biscuit but I don’t eat much carby food anyways. My hubby got a blueberry muffin which I tasted and it was very fresh with large blueberries. He devoured it. We both got a vanilla almond milk latte… first of all kudos for carrying more then just cow milk and it was very tasty as well! They had someone playing live music which was perfect for the rainy Sunday morning weather. We were unsure if we should leave our plates or take them back to the kitchen. Saw some people take them back… so confused. Also the place is really small for as busy as they were. Overall I will be back.

I finally got tired of playing the roulette wheel at 3-zero café(bizarre outbursts from a waiter/manager) and moved my weekend breakfasts here. Upside — breakfast without drama, predictable and fast service, great outside deck to enjoy breakfast. Competent scrambles and breakfast burritos, good mocha’s.

Great breakfast spot for bagels. They have all sorts of delicious spreads and toppings. They can be quite big, so I would keep that in mind if you are planning to eat a big lunch as well. The bagels themselves are so delicious and much better than the House of Bagels chain, who also makes some pretty darn good bagels. Plus, you get to sit in the sun in the front patio and enjoy the people-watching as well as glimpses of the ocean.

We rode our bikes along the costal trail and stopped in Café Classique for breakfast. I had the Jenn’s Bagel on Rosemary and Olive Oil. It has to be one of the best bagels. Great flavor from the first to the last bite. Not as chewy as most bagels are. My husband had the Isabelle omelet. The biscuit is very flaky and so good. The omelet was good with chorizo, onions and peppers. I recommend sitting on the deck enjoying the fresh air and ocean view.

I am not a big breakfast person so Café Classique unfortunately is not a place I’d go for when I’m craving breakfast, there are better places for breakfast than this place, IMO. However when my wife is craving their Drop Biscuits(apparently they are pretty good) than we find ourselves here in the later morning hours. There are 2 items I will order at Café Classique that I find pretty good… The BLT — I usually get sourdough bread and a bag of chips with it. Their house potatoes tend to have a cast iron taste to them… sometimes I can tolerate it, and sometimes I’m just not in the mood for it! They are usually generous with their bacon and sometimes I add avocado to it for an extra fee. The Hamburger w/Bacon — I will admit, they make a pretty decent burger. It’s a no frills basic hamburger, but done well and big! Again, I normally go for the chips unless I’m in the mood for a little extra iron in my meal. All in all, Café Classique is pretty reasonably priced and depending on what your going for you can probably find something… A lot of the local fisherman and locals in general go there. Their coffee is decent and you’ll have a pretty good selection of brands and flavors, and they open at like 5:30am for those early morning commuters during the week!

Hubby and I are enjoying Labor Day weekend in HMB and read about Café Classique here on Unilocal. It was exactly what we were looking for in our laid back breakfast! The house is old but cute with a porch that has a partial harbor view and is protected front the wind … I enjoyed the Jens Bagel which has avocado and is smothered in a scramble of eggs spinach tomato and cheese — delish! Hubby had the chorizo omelette that was pretty rich along with a fluffy biscuit — good but he was jealous of my bagel … So I shared;-)) Know that it is super casual — plastic plates ad counter service … But perfect if you care about a tasty, filling breakfast. All in all a great find!

Came back from Europe on Easter Sunday and fell asleep early with no dinner. Woke up at 4am Monday on the coast, hungry with nothing in the fridge … Café classique here we come. Wow, Jim is in there baking magical treats… fresh out of the oven scones and cinnamon buns. Having just returned from Paris we have high pastry standards… these treats met our increased sensitivity requirements. The local fisherman come and go. Jim made us macchiato and fresh squeezed oj too. Watched the sky lighten and left satisfied and pleased!

I arrived in El Granada, CA this morning at 4am and was looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. Pulled out my Unilocal app and found that Café Classique was the only place which opens at 4AM with the next earliest diner opening at 7AM. Without hesitation, I decided to give this place a try. I walked in and Jim, the owner, told me the place just opened up and he’ll need a few minutes to fire up the grill and get his fresh baked goods in the oven. With his permission, I walked around the restaurant and snapped a few pictures of the interior while talking to him as he was prepping his food. Café Classique has been in business for the past 16 years and Jim has been the owner the past 8 years. This is a local favorite diner and everything down to the orange juice is made fresh daily. Jim bakes his own croissants, bear claws, bagels, and muffins on a daily basis. In the middle of the diner is a musical performance area with drums, guitars, and microphones for local songwriters to perform their latest music. All the proceeds are donated to the local Bridge School Foundation, a school for«messed up» kids. Jim even busted out a tune he wrote a few years ago. He played really well and had an awesome voice. [Jim playing and singing a song on his guitar] In line with the restaurant’s name, this diner does have a very classical ambiance. While waiting for my order to be taken, I can smell the fresh baked goods from the oven as I’m serenaded by the soothing coffeehouse music courtesy of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. For breakfast, I ordered a glass of «fresh squeeze» orange juice, an omelet, and a side of toast. The omelet came with a side of potatoes. ORANGEJUICE Jim’s «fresh squeeze» orange juice is literally freshly squeezed. [PICOFORANGEJUICE] The one glass I drank took 6 oranges cut in half and pressed through a manual juicer press! POTATOES Jim prepares his potatoes WITHOUTOIL on a hot griddle with a special secret homemade seasoning and some paprika. He allowed me to smell the seasoning and it was heavenly. [PICOFPOTATO] The potato tasted REALLYGOOD! OMELETE [PICOFOMELET] The omelet was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted fresh and not overcooked. The portion size was quite generous also… so much, I was only able to eat half. === TIP: If you’re a fisherman, stop wasting your $ on the junk food that the bait shop offers. Stop by Café Classique and have a REAL meal. This place is only 1 minute away from the fishing pier/dock! Overall, I really like this diner. EVERYTHING about this place is fresh. Service is exceptional. Food tasted really good. Price was reasonable. FIVESTARS!
