Visiting from Burbank, we were looking for a local Italian restaurant for dinner yesterday. I had the linguine marinara and she had the breaded chicken parm. We ordered a small pizza as well to try out. The mixed green dinner salads came with the dinner and were well-sized and excellent. The marinara sauce was sweet and thick — very excellent. The chicken parm was ample and well-made. We were highly satisfied with the well-prepared food, the traditional menu selections, the reasonable prices, and the friendly staff. The small thin cheese pizza, however, reminded me of Sbarros — typical mall fare with no «zing» in either the sauce or the cheese. She liked it and I was ambivalent(who needs the considerable calories of pizza if it doesn’t have that«zing»?). We both agreed though that, If we were locals, we would definitely make Palermo Pizza a regular stop. If you’re ever in Simi Valley and love traditional Italian food in a warm, casual dining atmosphere, we highly recommend an evening at Palermo Pizza.

Very dissatisfied. Ordered the spaghetti lunch and it had no flavor whatsoever also because it came with the least amount of sauce I’ve ever seen. Had to top with sauce I had at home. Also the pizza was basically just cheese with no flavor, nothing. However nice employees.

I hate to do this but. 1. Took A HOURAND A HALF to deliver my pizza when I only live 1 street away from location. 2. Pizza was cold when arrived. 3. Driver still forgot my 2 two liters of Coke at the store and had to return which took another 15 min. Worst service from a pizza place I’ve received.

I did not want to drive to Downey for the Pastrami Pizza I was hankerin’ for so I called Palermo to see if they could make one for me. Sure, they said, we have Pastrami sandwiches on the menu so we can make it. I got over there as fast as I could. Just what I wanted, exactly what I hoped for. OMG. Ask and ye shall receive. Linda Jo

Decided to try Palermo’s since Lampost pizza closeby was BLAND! Glad I did. $ 5.99 for spaghetti with meat sauce, small salad, & garlic bread can’t be beat! The owners were friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

It was a cold and stormy night. The power had gone out on the entire block and I was getting ready to throw something in the microwave. After hours of waiting for the lights to come back on I decided to order delivery. As I searched for a place that delivered I came across palermos this place had amazing pizza I recalled from when a gf of mine ordered from hear once. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza so I was getting ready to skip palermos when I decided to take a look at their menu. I’m so glad I did. Palermos not only has great pizza but they also have great chicken, spaghetti and sandwiches. I ordered a pastrami sandwich they delivered within 30 minutes and I enjoyed my sandwich under candle light.

It’s been over 15 years since I been, it did not disappoint! $ 8.00 and some change I got a small 3-topping pizza(6 slices) delicious! Melty, bubbly cheese, tasty sauce! Thin crust but excellent pizza. El Monte gem.

I live in El Monte and was a regular customer for many, many years. I was such a regular customer, the employees recognized my voice over the phone and knew my address! Then something changed. I never found out but I guessed it was new ownership. The quality of the pizza declined dramatically… so much so that I stopped ordering from them after years and years of loyalty. I discovered Lamp Post Pizza and loved them, but now their ownership is also changed and the quality has declined(but that’s another review). After years of not ordering from Palermo, I decided to try them again today. In short, Palermo Pizza is HIDEOUS!!! It pains me to write this but it’s true. They need to PLEASE return to the quality that had me loyal for years. Until then, I’ll be buying pizza outside of El Monte. So sad.

This pizza is so horrible. I went back, wanting to see if it was still as I remembered. I ordered a slice. It was so hideous. It might have been a couple days old. It tasted like they just microwaved it. The cheese was like rubber and the crust was like a cracker. I threw it in the trash. Hideous and so disappointed.

The pricepoint is great just like the pizza. Wanted a quick bite to eat, and found this pizza place. Ordered the mexican pizza and chicken wings. The chicken wings were good, not to greasy yet still juicy. The Mexican pizza was GREAT. Toppings are conventional, but marinara sauce is substituted for a bean sauce. The dam pizza still tasted like it had marinara sauce, but when inspected it was all bean sauce. The pizza was great. Me and my buddy ate a large in one sitting. Highly recommend the Mexican Pizza.

Eh it was good. We all voted that the sauce was tasty. The thin crust was indeed thin! Haha. The thick crust was a little better, Good price with the coupons. $ 7.99 medium if you pick up.

New owners have ruined this place… guys an ass. He made this somewhat good pizza place to a typical I’ll squeeze every penny out of every customer and give the customer the cheapest food possible. Ordered the mixed dinner plate. Took away one of each items so only get two of each now. And portions shrunk too. Owner needs to leave

This place is great. I got out of class at Rio Hondo around 9pm and had planned to hang out with my friends after. I was craving pizza so I went on Unilocal to search for an open pizza place. Palermo Pizza was opened. I called and ordered a pepperoni pizza. This place less than a ten minute drive from Rio Hondo and when I got there they were taking the pizza out of the oven. Super fast service. Pizza was good too.

We have been customers of Palermo pizza for a long time, we loved the Pizza, but i’m sad to say their quality has gone way way way down, we’ve tried on three different occasions to give them another chance and today was the last, the Pizza is now dry and extremely skimpy on the toppings, and the sauce… its just sad because we loved their Pizza, I guess it’s back to Sams club Pizza or Pizza hut. Oh and not to mention the prices went up. Not good when the quality went down SMH!

I had only started coming here around November 2013 because my now girlfriend told me that this place is Damm delicious. THANKGODWEMET! First off the ambience of the restaurant is very personal as the walls are lined with murals of Italy and always decorated with season momento’s. Also the place is covered with pictures of famous people who have been there which I think is a nice touch. The last time we came here was on valentines day and the place was riddled with roses. Not only that, but my girlfriend revived a free complimentary rose as we dined in. Thank you Palermos I owe you one. The one aspect I really noticed about their place setting is that they actually have lit candles. I don’t know the last time I’ve been to a restaurant that actually had these, but I realized how much I appreciated this small touch. Luckily they also use them to keep the pizza nice and hot. Bravo. The ambience is wonderful but the place is known for more then just the great atmosphere. The food served here is of the highest quality and is so dam digitty delicious. We always order the pizza rosa and scampi a la becki with a Caesar salad and so far it does not disappoint. As we wait they serve us garlic bread and have always been quick to take and serve our drink orders. Afterwards they take our order and as we chat the waiters/waitresses are on key. They refill our drinks when they are low and bring out the food accordingly. **TIP** Ask for more bread because it’s tasty. Our Caesar salad comes out first and it’s good… I’m not gonna lie I’m not a salad guy but salad is salad. You can’t mess it up. Finally our main course comes out and the food comes out hot and delicious as usual. Our Pizza Rosa comes out cheesy and gooey to perfection with nice crisp yet soft, thick crust. Also the scampi a la becki comes out in a creamy(I think Alfredo) sauce with shrimp and peas. The pasta is cooked perfectly every time and the sauce tastes orgasmic. We always save some of it to take home because the Scampi also tastes good as 2nds. Finally since it was valentines day they gave my girlfriend a rose as well as complimentary canolis to take home which was a nice touch. These canolis were the best dam desserts ever, even though I work at an Italian restaurant that also has canolis. These were better. Their crunchy shells with soft cold delicious cream to fill them with kept me craving even more after they were guzzled down. I’m glad to say that the food has never disappointed us and we will always be loyal customers to this wonderful irreplaceable restaurant. Cudos to the delicious food, great staff and proudful owners of Palermos.

We have been ordering from them for years. However, lately the pizza stinks! Last night we ordered a large. It looked like a medium. The pizza had no sauce so we basically ate bread with some cheese. Go to Shakeys or Lamppost instead. These latest owners are cheap skates. The driver is the same nice guy.

Excellent pizza and desserts to die for! The canolis are fantastic and I have it on good authority that the tiramasu is heavenly. Their«Pizza Rosa» pizza is a delicious meat-free option, and one slice is plenty to fill you up. I’ve eaten here several times and never had a problem with food or service. The décor is nice, too, with an Italian feel and a lovely mural on one wall. Highly recommended!

I like the pizza dough very much, it is not Spago but good. Not a lot of parking, not much seating. I see people come in and out and get pizza to go. If I lived here, I would probably frequent this place by foot often. However, with Lampost and other pizza spots, they have some stiff competition.

I normally do Lamp Post pizza down the street which is one of my all-time-favorite pizza places. Having said that, I thought I’d try out Palermo for lunch. They still have their Medium one-topping deal for $ 4.99. I ordered mine with green peppers. I found it was a little better than Little Caesars which isn’t saying a whole lot but it’s still a reasonable deal. I did ask for cheese and peppers so my total came out to around $ 6 even. Not sure if they charge .50 cents extra for those condiments? Overall, it’s a nice little place to pick up some inexpensive pizza.
