This is good fresh and flavorful quick Chinese food. I especially love their hot and sour soup.

After hearing about Happy Garden from many people I decided to give it a try for dinner one night. We were greeted right away and seated. The restaurant is small and an older building but clean and well kept. We ordered Stir fried Mushroom with snow peas and mushrooms, Sesame chicken, Mongolian chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Chicken chow mein and a large Hot n Sour soup. All regular entrees come with steamed rice. The food was all very good and came out fast. Sesame chicken was flavorful and actually tasted like sesame chicken. Ive been to some places where sesame chicken general chicken orange chicken all tastes the same. At Happy Garden you know you ordered the right thing because it tastes the way it should. There were nice meaty pieces of chicken and the right amount of breading. Mongolian chicken was very good with big pieces of meat and fresh veggies. Kung pao was good too and had the right amount of kick. Chicken chow mein had lots of meat in it and could have been a meal by itself. Stir fried brocolli was cooked just right. It wasnt over cooked to a point it lost its nutrients but wasnt half cooked either. Hot n Sour soup was ok. Unlike their food it didnt taste any better than other places I’ve been too. It was good soup but nothing spectacular. All the food we ordered came in generous portions and met my expectations. Their great customer service made our visit even better.

We just left this place. We ordered the orange chicken, Kung pow chicken and Walnut Shrimp. Everything was so delicious our favorite was the Walnut shrimp! Food came out fast and it was very fresh. Service started a bit not so friendly but another server came by(didn’t get her name) but she was super friendly chit chatted with us. Overall we’d definitely come back again in a heartbeat.

Was glad to see Happy Garden re-open. Lots of good food, and good times stopping in with the kids after school over the years.

I’d hate to bring down their rating but the food was barely 2 stars to me and that’s being gracious. Maybe in the middle of nowhere where there’s no choice of Chinese food, it’s a 3 stars… When the non-traditional beef and vegetable soup(included in the lunch) was the best part, there’s something Definitely Wrong. I ate here 10 years ago and I remembered the food tasted better… Maybe the chef was sleeping and I ate lunch on a Saturday while the bench warmer chef was on duty. The Honey Walnut Prawns is what I craved for and that’s why I wanted to eat at a Chinese Restaurant. The sauce was watered down and pineapple was added as an afterthought. My fiancée had the Kung Pao Scallops and wasn’t impressed either. The rice tasted hard and dry. Even the Fried Won Ton and Fortune Cookie tasted Stale! Oh no! The servers were nice tho but couldn’t make up for the quality of food.

First stepping in here I had high hopes. The service was good, the people were friendly. The tea is not your average jasmine. These guys serve oolong! Smokier scented, but it’s good. I love tea, so it wasn’t bad at all. The vegetable beef soup that came with my lunch special was a hearty flavor, rich and wonderful on the palate! Now for the main entrees and the major let down. I ordered the Kung Pao Scallops and my significant other ordered the walnut prawns. The prawn wasn’t bad, the batter was different. I was somewhat puzzled. It tasted like a panko shrimp with the sauce drizzled on top. It was ok, but the walnuts tasted stale, and the pineapple was less than impressive. Ok, how about the scallops, they weren’t bad, slightly over cooked, but that’s typical, but they were cut into pieces the same size as the veggies… uhh…is that normal? But the veggies were slightly undercooked, a little too crunchy. The sauce was typical, nothing impressive. Okay, how about the rice? Hmmm… how do I describe it? My rice was steamed rice, but it was a little dry… how the hell is rice dry??? I don’t know, but it was, it wasn’t exactly hard, but it wasn’t particularly soft either, it just wasn’t good. Sorry guys, but this was a disappointment. The soup was good though. All in all the cook should be fired and go work at Panera instead. These guys are friendly as hell and that is the reason for the extra star! I won’t be coming here again.

Good food, but HORRIBLE customer service. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Been ordering take out from Happy Garden for years now with my family and the food has always been good. For the first time I decided to dine in with a friend of mine. We are both 18 years old. When we went, there was two other groups. One group of all older adults and then a mother and daughter. Service started off not horrible, but as soon as we were done I asked for a box and it took over 15 mins. During the time i was waiting our waitress brought out a box and gave it to the group of adults, who had never even requested one, and boxed their food for them. I had to then ask for a box again and she brought it and just set it down without a word and walked away. I boxed up my food and accidentally knocked over my water. It spilled on the table and into my lap. When it spilled the staff just looked at me and went back to what they were doing. I attempted to dry myself off with my friend’s and my napkins. Finally someone came over and she used a napkin to wipe off the table and pushed the excess water into my lap. She then just walked away as I sat there in shock. My friend and I paid and went home so I could change out of my soaked pants Just because we are younger doesn’t mean we should be less of a priority. If the service was better I most likely would have left a nice tip but it was so horrible I left no tip at all.

Excellent Chinese food. The crab cream cheese wontons are great but eat them right away if you are getting take out because they can get soggy if they sit around in the box. The house wonton soup was really tasty with shrimp and bbq pork. The wontons in the soup were also very good. So glad they re opened

Oh thank you baby Jebus! Our local Chinese shack has reopened! This little hole in the wall has the freshest, most delightful entrees and the price can’t be beat! I used to come here with my family for years until an oil fire in the kitchen closed the place down for sometime. However! It was worth the wait! It’s the same cook, says our waitress. And I will confirm, the food is just as wonderful as ever.

If you’re a fried food fanatic that likes to eat DEEPFRIED Chinese meals(sesame beef, orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, etc) with white rice, this place is for you and would probably rate favorably. However, if you prefer stir fried over deep fried or if you like fried rice, this place is a disappointment. The house fried rice is not worth buying. It’s dry with a few morsels of cubed carrots and peas for vegetables, bbq pork, and ONE shrimp(I’m serious, we bought the fried rice twice just in case the first try was a blunder and the house fried rice had ONE shrimp each time). It’s probably one of the worst fried rice I’ve ever tried. The sesame beef is mostly fried beef(with only some broccoli). They did a great job frying the beef so that the coating melted in your mouth but had a tender crispiness to it. Not a fan of the sauce though which was too gingery sweet for my taste. The mixed vegetables was okay but made me miss my mom who could have cooked the vegetables a hell of a lot better. Although I liked the wine sauce that was used to cook the vegetables in, I think that a more complementary selection of vegetables could have been used since the vegetables in the dish really didn’t complement each other well. The shrimp in the honey walnut prawns was fried perfectly again(I guess this place knows how to deep fry!) but, because they, covered the shrimp with the honey-mayonnaise sauce, the prawns were soggy by the time I drove the 10 minutes home. If traveling, I would recommend asking that they put the sauce on the side to avoid sogginess, if possible. White rice comes free with the entrees. I rarely eat deep fried foods and it seems that this is what the restaurant specializes in. So I would personally not go here again unless I had a friend who really, really liked deep fried Chinese food. Personally, the restaurant is a 2 but I can see where it would be great for those who like deep fried Chinese so I gave it a 3. ****************************************************************************************************** REVIEWOVER&NOW A WORDABOUTAUTHENTICITY(do not read unless you care): There seems to be a dispute about the«authenticity» of the food here. If we were to define«authentic food» to represent food that tastes like what you would eat if you were in the country that the food was named after, then I would not call this place authentic. Chinese American food(which was created by Chinese people while living in the west) is vastly different from authentic Chinese(Chinese food in China). And, although there are various styles of Chinese food in China, none of them are closely related to the American Chinese style.
