I decided to give this place a try since its close to where we live and I saw their sign for 50% off their sushi rolls. I got a «Ninja» roll to go. When I got home I was surprised to find this so called«roll» only had 4 – 5 pieces! It was about ½ to 2⁄3 the size of the sushi rolls at Mikuni’s and did not taste as good. In the future, if I want some sushi I will pay a bit more and drive a bit further to go to Mikuni’s. Also, if you really want an all you can eat deal, I would suggest you try Oz Korean BBQ(I-5 and EG Blvd) or Fuji’s(EG Blvd just west of 99).

This one star is for their awful service! My friends and I came in an hour before closing and the server tells us they ran out of fish. You couldn’t come up with a better excuse for not wanting to take in customers? It’s a sushi place and you’re out of fish? We were annoyed and left after that. I feel bad for the owner of this place. Your staff is ruining business and doesn’t even care for it. I’ve been here before this incident and their food is ok. Sometimes 2 stars sometimes 3. The prices is usually what gets me. If I’m craving sushi and on a budget I usually came here but I haven’t been back since and I’m not planning to.

My wife and I eat at Sushimono regularly and we always find the restaurant to be clean and well maintained. We have been here a number of times and only had spotty service once. My wife likes a number of their sushi rolls as well as their salad. She finds their rolls to be great tasting and made with high quality ingredients. I cannot speak for their sushi as I am allergic to shellfish but I am a huge fan of their spicy ramen. It is chicken ramen and it is hands down the best I have had anywhere. I have eaten ramen all over the country, and have even had it at Iron Chef Morimoto’s. This is the real deal. It has a nice bite to it and comes with a solid broth, a great amount of noodles, freshly grilled chicken, and vegetables. I personally pay a little more for extra chicken and vegetables and to add fresh jalapeños. It adds great flavor. My wife has had the all you can eat buffet a few times as well and also enjoys it. They have a number of options and some sushi rolls are a part of that as well. As long as they maintain their great quality food and friendly service we will continue to come back. Thanks for taking care of us as regular customers.

I come here once in a while whenever I crave sushi. I usually get the mystery roll along with another roll or two. Sometime I’ll do that kbbq/sushi dinner thing or just bento boxes; depending on what I feel. I’ve tried quite a bit of the food here and I can say it goes both ways. Some of the rolls are quite good while some are just ehh. As for the mystery roll, sometimes it’s really good and other times it just average. I like to take my chances and hope the chef makes something I like haha. The kbbq isn’t that good in my opinion, which is fine since this place is a sushi place. I don’t know why they added that part but I was quite disappointed. I do however love the barbeque albacore. There is usually tables open as I haven’t seen this place full yet. The service is just ok. If you want something, you have to ask for it. If not, you probably won’t get that much service.

I come here like 3x a week. Best sushi place in elk grove. Winding dragon, love, mono, and all the fruit rolls are good. 50% off rolls, plus buy 2 get 1 free on weekdays after 5pm. Rolls come out fast, waitresses always check on us, food tastes great

I tried this place for the first time recently and I have to say, I wish I would’ve tried it sooner. Stopped in and the place was busy. The rolls were all half off, which I believe has been their special since they opened. There was plenty of a selections and although I wasn’t that hungry, I did manage to pig out on a whole roll by myself. Overall I haven’t been jazzed about the sushi restaurants in Elk Grove but I will definitely try this place again and I will make sure I have a healthy appetite. I think between the two of us, three rolls, and sodas, the bill was only $ 20 something. Can’t beat that.

This is my usual to go sushi place in Elk Grove but I am sad to say I had a terrible experience as far as customer service goes, and I was SO excited to get sushi. I placed a phone call order to go at 4:27 pm for the 3 sushi rolls, the lady on the phone informed me that their happy hour would start at 5 pm and that I wouldn’t be eligible for the happy hour unless I ordered closer to 5 pm, I acknowledged that and was told my order would be ready in 15 minuets. I showed up at 4:50 pm, about 23 minuets after I placed my order, 8 minuets past the wait time and my order wasn’t ready. My order was finally ready 3 minuets before the start of happy hour, 30 minuets after my initial phone call order, and the hostess still didn’t give me the happy hour price despite my waiting and troubles. Plus she said it was busy and there was only one table that was seated. Ended up hitting Chipotle instead. Don’t give false wait times to hungry people. *Might I add, I had to call three times for them to even answer the phone to take my order, it was dead in there when I walked in. I’ve literally been in there two times where the phone was ringing off the hook and the employees would walk right past it as if it weren’t, and it wouldn’t be busy in the restaurant at all. Come on guys.

I stopped in the Elk Grove Sushimono restaurant recently. First time I had been there. Nice corner location at Bruceville Rd. & Elk Grove Blvd. Plenty of seating and the place is equipped with an attractive sushi bar. Note that I found the booths relatively small — narrow and not as much leg room as I need. Service from the wait staff was OK. I ordered two sushi rolls. First a James Dean and then the Winding Dragon. These were good size — «regulation», if you will, sushi rolls. Particularly impressive based on the price. Seven dollars for one and eight $s for the other. Of course, low price does not matter if the food quality /taste is not there. I am pleased to say this was good, fresh sushi. The James Dean had plenty of shrimp tempura, eel, scallop and onion. The Winding Dragon also had shrimp along with sea steak. As might be expected, the wine was not great. I can recommend this place. Your dollar will go a long ways and you will find the sushi tasty. Note, order sake or beer.

Tried the all you can eat. Sushi is alright. Portions are small which I get they don’t wanna waste food. But with a big group of 7 we kept having to order after finishing the food in like 30 seconds. It was great that we knew the waiter and she didn’t mind coming back to take our orders, but when you’re starving you want food right away. Meats aren’t bad. Wish there was at least one more variety of meat. Salmon looked good though. Potstickers are good. I like em deep fried. This place isn’t bad. But I’ll only go if I get invited. Not one of my top choices. Good prices though. Not absurd.

To be honest, the only real reason why I’d rate this place 2 stars is because their prices are decent for the quality of their rolls. After different occasions of ordering rolls for take-out and taking advantage of the so-called«buy 2 get a 3rd free», it had finally hit me one night as I opened my box that the free ones were actually served either half of its size or rolled smaller. Blew my mind away! Service has never been a great character either. I had actually came here last week to try out their AYCE Korean BBQ and sushi for $ 23.99 and was immediately let down. They’ll promote it as AYCE but will only serve you a few at a time depending on how many people are at a table. For 2 people, you’re able to choose up to 6 items at first, but any rounds after that would only be 2(you’re kidding me, right?). The portions were extreeemely small so when we had ordered 3 different rolls and 3 meats, the rolls came out half of the regular size(4 pieces instead of 8) and the meats were scarce. We ended up filling on rice and beer since everything else took a really long time. Not to mention the server had forgotten to give us our complimentary miso soup and salad that came with the AYCE deal. If you want to do the AYCE for KBBQ, hit up Oz for the same price and they’ll never let you down. As for good quality, low priced sushi I’d suggest Arigatou’s or Sushi Hook instead!

The happy hour deal, buy 2 get one free; is the main reason why i come here. The sushi is mediocre but satisfying. I really enjoy the lion king, garlic salmon, and popcorn lobster. I also tried the All you can eat bbq/sushi, it is similar to OZ Korean bbq but they also have sushi which is a plus. Overall, i’ll give the food 3⁄5. Furthermore, the service is decent. The waitresses welcomes you but they seem so tired most of the time.

I like this place. I like the taste of their rolls and I find the price to be very reasonable. My favorite roll is the Sakura Island which is done with no rice and a cucumber wrap. It is SO good but I hate when I go here and they are out of the cucumber wraps! That happens to me a lot especially at lunch. We have stopped coming for lunch. I like to come during their happy hour when the rolls are buy 2 get 1 free. It’s a good deal and I always leave feeling satisfied and not craving sushi. Their appetizers are pretty good. The wings are SUPER spicy, they are not playing around. I’ve had their Korean bbq and I like it a lot. Though it does not come with the Korean style side dishes, I am happy that I can get some sushi rolls and appetizers so that doesn’t bother me. I really like the boneless short ribs and the other beef option. Those are my favorites. The chicken and shrimp isn’t anything special. I think I get my money’s worth doing to Korean BBQ. The service is nice. I think the waitresses are good. I’ve never sat close enough to the bar to know anything about the chefs though.

Very bad service… was seated at the sushi bar and then no one even came to take drink order after 10 min. I had to flag a waitress down. Asked for a sake menu, was told they have only 3 different sake. At the front, they have a vast array up on display. but I guess you have to just stare at the one you want and settle for their misely selection. Asked for no mayo, got a mayo sauce on roll… only reason I gave this place 2 stars, is because when paying our bill, we were told it is buy 2 rolls, get one free. Not advised of the specials before we ordered… weird. Don’t think I will be back P. S. Do not use the bathroom… worst than a gas station. made me want to throw my food up

This place is okay. Everything about it is okay except for the service. The service on my most recent was great! we had a large party and our server was very attentive. Made sure the large party I was with was well taken care of and all of our beverages stayed full. We were celebrating a birthday and our server even went as far to cut the cake and make sure each and every person had a slice available if they desired to have a one.

I was really fighting the urge to give this place one star, but im the holiday spirit and i felt like giving. So i gave me 2 stars. I really cant rate them on the sushi im just going to rate them on what i ordered and it did have to pieces of «sushi»(california roll which fell a part) There was a few things that rubbed me wrong at this place. For one, i hate radio pop music i cant stand listening to mainstream music that they play out in a week on a radio. Thats the music they played here. While i was chewing my food i kept cringing just listening to that audio pollution. Another thing I didn’t like was that the portions weren’t even. I ordered a bento box(the lunch special) u pick two items it comes with salad, 2 pieces of california roll, a scoop of rice and i chose spicy honey chicken, and teriyaki chicken. Now my wife got the sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken. My portion of teriyaki chicken was really skimpy my wifes was more. The spicy honey chicken was nothing special the teriyaki chicken was bland some pieces were kinda tough some were tender i wont lie. The sesame chicken was flat out disgusting. The waitress that helped us was friendly a young teen perhaps but her appearance wasnt up to par. If ur gonna be serving people try to look presentable, comb ur hair for god sake, look clean. Im not trying to bash the young child she was really nice but just if ur gonna be bringing peoples food look presentable and clean. I Wont be back never ever in my life u might like it give it a try i mean they did have all sushi for 50% off but from the reviews i saw i dont want to waste my time on it.

I go to Sushimono for 1 thing, mo’gunz! It’s the best sushi roll with a torched scallop… if you’re into that. I don’t recall anything special on their menu and I usually order a chicken or beef bento box when I’m looking for more. We’ve eaten there once or twice and have ordered take-out several times. Service is slow and lax when dining in; but they can certainly pack the house. Their sushi is half off during certain hours of the day and they have dinner specials that end at 10pm so I believe this draws in the crowd along with an AYE buffet during the weekends. Call for details.

My boyfriend and I have come to eat here twice. What’s nice is that it’s another option for half off sushi in the Elk Grove area, but really you’re paying for what you get. The sushi isn’t amazing but it isn’t awful either. It’s definitely affordable but don’t expect too much out of the food. I will say that their BBQ albacore is pretty good but it’s only 4 pieces and they aren’t that big. Definitely worth a try but like I said don’t expect it to be amazing. On our most recent visit they only had 2 servers for the entire restaurant and it was a busy Saturday afternoon. I give them tons of kudos because they were attentive to everyone even though it was just the 2 of them.

Super cheap sushi, taste pretty good. Wish it was in the bay area, everything here is so expensive lol I would want to try their AYCE but doubt I will come back to Sacramento again :( The negative thing was that they turned up the AC way too high, my friends and I were so cold inside and after we left the restaurant outside was so hot and we felt so dizzy from the extreme temperature change lol

Half off rolls = half the size! Ordered their 12 piece sashimi and mono roll. I was impressed with how fresh the fish was, except for the albacore tuna that was still a bit on the frozen side and not thawed out completely. First time trying out escolar sashimi and it was amazingly good; buttery texture that literally melts in your mouth. I was looking for a roll with a combination of salmon, avocado and shrimp tempura. The server recommended the mono roll. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the roll; tasted a bit bland with limited salmon and sauce drizzled on top. My dining companion ordered the teriyaki chicken/salmon bento box. She wasn’t a big fan of their meat since it was overcooked and chewy. The size of the salmon was small and the accompanying sauce was overpowering. The bento box for dinner comes with salad, rice, 2 pieces of California roll, and 2 meat choices that you can select from a list. The salmon costs an extra $ 1. Service here was slow, but couldn’t complain since it was a madhouse for dinner. Restaurant is very dim with limited lighting. Cute Japanese décor/theme around the restaurant. Probably worth paying the extra bucks and driving down the street to Mikuni’s if you’re looking for quality food versus quantity.
