Updating this because I am very disappointed. I ordered my usual order on grub hub and my order was confirmed and I am waiting an hour later for my food when I call the place and they say they had to cancel my order because my house is too far. It’s a 10 minute walk from there to my house so on a bike it would be much faster. plus my friend who lives two avenues after the queens center mall says they deliver to her. So ridiculous. You would think they would have called me to tell me they canceled my order.

Great place to get pizza, every time I’m in Queens and can pass I go get a couple of pies. Good service and great pizza. My favorite is the burger pizza.

Having been a loyal customer for nearly 20+ years, I used to rave about Famous Pizza, but those days are gone. I was there today and picked up a mushroom pie and it literally looked like there were 2 pieces of mushroom on each slice. They are getting consistently skimpy with the add-ons and their prices are going through the roof. 3 stars is for the overall great taste with the mushroom piece is on it. It pains me to put in a review like this, but getting home and opening the box was a real downer. Hopefully the owner of the Famous reads this and picks up his game a little cause its kind of a hassle to travel from Little Neck to pick up a pie that used to be great.

Elmhurst famous baby. It’s consistently alright. Sometimes it’s better. What do you want? Big bag of wings.

We were jonesing for the late, lamented Singa’s across the street, and decided to try Elmhurst since some Unilocalers thought the personal pies were similar. We much prefer Singa’s(have tried Williamsburg and LIC stores since the Elmhurst location closed) whose pies are crispier and tastier. We tried the Indo-pak, which has a jalapeño and onion topping with a dusting of curry powder. Definitely unusual. Worth ordering once, but I’m not sure I would get it again. We also got the sausage — a journeyman pie if there ever was one. Customer service was fine.

Good food but everything else sucks. Been here at least 10−12x because I live nearby and, while I love the food, I dread going in because the staff is rude and SUPERSLOW. I have waited(sitting there) for 40 mins for one pie before. Last time we were there my friend ordered pasta and a salad and, after 25 mins, they forgot the salad. We came back and asked for it 5 mins later and they couldn’t remember who took the order and accused us of not ordering that. Always rude, always slow. Delivery is slow too.

I. Food Taste They sell 10 inch pizzas suitable for 1 – 2 people. It only tastes delicious when you eat it right away after it comes out of the oven. I get this pizza if I eat at the restaurant. It is not meant for take out, delivery, microwave, or next day. You do not want it sitting around… In the event you end up leaving it around, the crust will get hard and be like a rock. You will exercising your jaws or teeth. It’s like a dog chewing on a bone. Try to finish the pizza by the end of day. Good thing about about papa johns or dominos pizza is that it is perfect for microwave or next day lunch. I have even freezed up the pizza before using plastic wraps and eat in less than two weeks. You must individually wrap each slice for best results. Solves all the lunch problems or you can eat it when you are really hungry at night sometimes. I have tried the following at this place: 1. Regular Cheese 2. Green Peppers and Onions 3. Mushroom 4. Bacon 5. Special or Supreme 6. Extra Cheese 7. Garlic Knots 8. Pasta 9. Onion rings 10. Mozzarella sticks I only like numbers 1 – 4. The special and extra cheese pizzas can be on the heavy side. Stick to the basics in this place. I would only order the pizzas. II. Price The price is so-so and can be on the high side if you are feeding a lot of people or growing up hungry kids. I could always finish a whole 10 inch pie by myself and eat more. I have had instances where a person ate 2 whole pies by themselves. It’s like White Castle hamburgers. They are small and you can eat a lot of them. But, you are still not full. If I’m not mistaken, each 10 inch pie is over $ 6. I haven’t really seen coupons and discounts for this place. You are always paying full price. III. Service Service is so-so. Not bad, but not great. Delivery takes more than 45 mins on average.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, the guys working in the counter is extremely rude and threatening, I was trying to complain and let them know about their poor customer service and in return received threat from someone working there, the guy was telling me he got all my information and stuff, and he can do anything he wants. Guys please stay away from this pizzeria.

Very similar to Singa’s(which is located in Flushing). Their personal pies are pretty good and they have decent service. Ordered delivery and received it before the pizza got cold. They do give coupons on each of their pizza boxes. I think this is a much better place than the usual pizza chain stores. Also their ingredients are fresh and taste amazing. Will be back again!

Solid place for pizza, not the best but enough to hit the spot and definitely better than any major chain pizza place(Domino’s, Papa Johns, etc.) Crust is thin and crusty, which is good and the cheese is great. The pies are pan sized, small but surprisingly filling. Besides the pizza, everything else I’ve had is sub-par. The cheese fries are basically soggy fries with a slice or two of American yellow cheese melted over them, not the nacho-like cheese. Jalapeño poppers are also stuffed with yellow cheese, have no spicy kick to them, leaving you just tasting the cheese, which unlike the pizza is not a good thing. Call ahead or be ready to wait at least 15 mins, even if the place is empty. They used to have a deal where after a certain amount of pizzas bought(I think 10), you got one free. I don’t think they run that promotion anymore :(otherwise I’d probably order more often.

Waiting time is a little long, but their pizza is delicious. The vegetables are fresh and juicy, and the dough has a perfect crispness. The sauce is not that tasty though. They also have a big menu with many non-pizza items.

It was pretty good. Lunch special also came with choice of soda. Prepare yourself to wait for about 20 – 30 minutes. Pizza was also very oily.

This place has excellent personal pan pizza’s. Sometimes the wait can be long, but its a fresh pie each time you eat there. I used to eat this stuff so much as a kid, now I make sure to have at least 3 pies a year to make sure I remember how that crust tastes. There is nothing to compare an Elmhurst famous pie to, nothing. Its different than any other pizza you can get in Queens, or the city for that matter. The dough, the sauce and cheese… not sure what it is that gives it the distinct flavors that everybody has come to know and love.

Good pizza. nice variety. Not the world’s best but good and the indo pak, Spinach, and veggies are my favorite. Indo pak is cool and unusual. SLOWWWW service though considering its just pizza. Takes 10 – 15 min to get a salad and like an hour for delivery right around the corner. Plain décor but fine enough. Usually not too crowded except dinner rush/weekend dinner rush which can be an annoying ton of teenagers or trashy families. n

Delicious and tasty. I got the Sausage hero; it was the perfect crispiness to it. The cost was suitable for the amount they give you.

The big bald guy in the back has an attitude problem. No one was at the counter when I went to order so I waved«hi» and smiled at him(in the friendliest, most non-passive aggressive way) while he was rolling some dough to see if he could grab someone’s attention for me. Instead, he looked at me like I owed him money. Spoke to me condescendingly, and then continued to stare at me like he had a problem. Too bad man… I was going to order a few pies for a group, but now they’ve lost our business for sure. Not sure if that guy’s the owner, but someone like that working for you is what ruins business.

The pizzas are always great. I think they have a lunch special from Monday through Fridays which is a cheese pie with a small soda for $ 4.95. Garlic knots are ok, I just wish they were a bit more garlicky. I’ve tried the burgers before they’re alright, nothing special. This is always my go to place for pizza in the neighborhood and it’s the best!
