Compared to the pizza chains that have endless deals going on(Dominos, Papa Johns, etc.)– this pizza comes at a slight premium for the satisfaction of your cravings. I have been craving pizza for the past year. That’s right. A YEAR. I have been dreaming about pizza. I have been thinking about pizza. PIZZAMUSTBETIREDBECAUSEITHASBEENRUNNINGAROUNDMYMINDFOR A YEAR. Unfortunately, I was unable to satisfy my cravings until today. Yes. Today I decided to stop being a cheapo and get some real pizza at Gino’s. As a kid, I used to come here all the time, and the quality of their pizza has remained consistent. A large regular pizza pie is about $ 18 without toppings. Each slice comes with the perfect ratio of cheese and bread below the cheese. The crust is oh so crunchy. For your first bite, there is a blast of flavor in your mouth. For your second bite, you will be in tears as your pizza craving is completely satisfied. I love how this pizza is just regular normal pizza done right. Nothing special, no added effects– it is just pizza. I am able to eat about two slices before being completely full(in comparison to the entire Dominos pie I would eat and still be hungry). Ah. So happy ;) P. S. whoever mentioned that the store is a bit warm in the summer, I would just like to add that they have turned on the air conditioner now and it’s nice in there.

The pizza here is so good! I also got the pepperoni bread thing. They have very unique pizza flavors, and they’re all amazing. The only thing is, if you’re a stickler for health, you might want to avoid Gino’s. Everything is so oily, and while I didn’t really mind, I can see how some people might freak out about that… Also the facilities were a little bit small and very hot in the summer.

Just bought a slice and the guys behind the counter are real dick heads. Never coming here again, I don’t want to feel uncomfortable when I’m just buying a slice of pizza. How do you stare at a customer face to face behind the window display and stare at my chest? Shaking my head… in disgust I wish I thought sooner and just left. And the pizza, it’s OK some days are better some days aren’t. after what happened though goodbye. Disgusting. Just disgusting. Sick men you have working in your store and it’s just not that guy either. Both guys working during my visit were both snickering and just staring at me as if there was a joke going on that I didn’t know about. Grow up and have some respect.

Back in the 90s they had the best pizza. I loved their mini pan pizza, garlic knots, pepperoni rolls, pie(special), etc. However, it doesn’t taste the same anymore but I can’t explain it. Prices have gone up as well…

I have always come here ever since I was a boy. Till this day, I can’t stop thinking about how delicious their pizzas are and how delicious and gooey the cheese is! This is definitely on my top 3 favorite pizza parlors ever! I truly recommend the pepperoni roll and the pepperoni slice!

The pizza here is decent. The sauce and cheese porportion is good. The crust is just the way I like it, thin and crispy. Only downside is that the cheese is a little stiff. Other than that, the flavor’s great. It’s not bad pizza considering it being made by latinos.

Garlic bread buns!!! This crust pizza!!! You will keep coming back for more! Give it a try! Slices are at $ 3.50. They always serve it hot and in a box to keep it fresh. Service is good, very accomodating.

Great Upside down Sicilian!!! Screams flavor with every bite. Great ratio of chunky tomato parm and mozzerella cheese. Great taste not salty!!! Surprised nobody commented on this slice. Try it you will thank me later. Please note it’s not on menu and don’t get it confused with grand Ma slice. Can’t wait to order whole pie of it for the Super Bowl. The regular slice is good too but hands down upside down is the best. RL

This is my goto pizza place when I want a slice. One of the best pizza I ever had. The staff is friendly and the service is great. The pizza has crispy layer of bread/crust, juicy tomato sauce layered with tasty cheese. Not much more to say but pizza done right.

Customer service is better here at night. They really are so polite and courteous. The slices are typical New Yorker pizza. Thin and big. The crust is toasty and has a little crunch at the end. The cheese is ok. The sauce is really good. It’s got a savory flavor. I really like their pellegrino selection. They have the lemon, orange, clementine and pomegranate mix. Lovely! I feel like I’m back in Italy their pizza is really flavorful. It’s big so it took me several bites to finish. Pretty conveniently located near the train station.

Best pizza in New York and in the universe. This place has been around since the 60’s(well before I was born) and business is still booming. The service is good, the food is good, and the place is clean as a whistle. A great place to go to for good, cheap eats!

I walked in here twice before I bought anything because none of the pizza looked appetizing. I ended up getting a plain slice– it wasn’t good. The crust was kind of thick and the pizza didn’t have any taste. I guess it would good if you were drunk but that’s about it. I also don’t know why a plain slice costs $ 2.75 at a hole in the wall across the street from the former McDowells.

Super thin crust which I love. Nice thick layer of cheese and good amount of tomato sauce. A little on the salty side however. The dough was extra crispy on the bottom. I think because they left warming it in the oven a bit too longer than usual. Didn’t burn it and it was a perfect crisp. Very little crust to chew on. I wouldn’t mind if there was a little bit more crust. Taste different than the last time I had it which was about a year ago. I think this time was better.

Reading about how Gino’s didn’t live up to some of the reviewers’ expectations after being recommended by a friend breaks my heart. If you tried the pizza three years ago, you would have been blown away. But now, I can’t help but agree with these reviews. If I was writing this review three years ago, I would’ve demanded Unilocal to make six stars as a possible rating for exemplary restaurants such as this one. However, after a few owner and staff changes, the pizza is nothing like it once was. The pizza is now dough-y and too thin. The pizza made by the Italian owner, who I assume is Gino’s, always had the perfect thickness. The pizza would always be fresh out of the oven. Even after going to Italy, I still firmly believed their pizza was the best I’ve ever had. I went for the first time today in almost two years. The point to which the pizza quality deteriorated was almost unrecognizable. It’s still a lot better than the dollar«pizza» you can find around NYC, but it’s not even close to what I would consider mind-blowing pizza. And it’s definitely not worth $ 2.75. I don’t think I will be back for a long time, as it is too heartbreaking to experience once more. Thank you for teaching me what good pizza is. :(

This is a good spot if you’re looking for Pizza in Elmhurst. It’s close to the train station, fast service, and seating in the back if you want to chow down there. My husband and I got two slices and they heated it up for us. At least it came out piping hot! One thing is that this pizza is SUPER oily. I used several napkins to soak up the oil, then we’re good to go. It was about $ 2.25 for a slice. They had regular and sicilian slices. You add your own condiments at the front, although they didn’t have Parmesan cheese when I was there. Pizza is pizza so if you’re looking for a quick bite and need to settle that pizza craving in Elmhurst, you can try Gino’s.

My handy Unilocal app came up with Ginos after I still had a pizza craving after taking out Thai. Alas, Unilocalers seemed slightly off with so many four star reviews. Gino’s has decent pizza – a thin, really good crust but the sauce component is way too tart for my liking. Either the tomatoes that day were too sour or they forgot to add a little sugar to the sauce. The cheese to sauce ratio was normal. $ 2.75 gives you a slice that is not big nor small. I also told the guy I liked my slice hot and got it lukewarm. Pizza shouldn’t be that hard to heat up, even one that’s obviously been sitting for a while. I loved the crust though, and would have eaten it as plain bread if I could have. On the plus side, Gino’s had eight tables that are larger than most, with longer benches that will accommodate even those whose widening girth indicates a propensity towards too many pizza pies. One table should seat six comfortably.

My friend said this was the best pizza place in the neighborhood so i finally tried it. I was not impressed. I ordered 2 plain slices, 1 Sicilian, 2 beef patties and a pepperoni slice. While he was packing it i asked to put the condiments on my slices before closing the box. I asked for parmesan cheese and they said they did not have it. What kind of pizzeria doesnt have parmesan cheese? To top it off he also make a comment and said«too much cheese is not good for you». Seriously? So then when i got home i opened my box to find a hair on my slice. I get it. It happens. We’re only human. So whatever. But i found the sauce to be too salty. Definitely wont be returning to here. Ok maybe if all the other pizzerias went out of business then i would. Also they have a very small menu.

This place has been here forever. The inside has recently been redone, but I kinda miss the old school décor. This place is a very no frills pizzeria. The location is great, it’s right by the entrance to the train and it’s right in front of a bus stop. The food: Personal pie– For the most part, this is what I get here. The sauce has a great tang, the bread is borderline Sicilian but with a softer dough and the cheese has nice flavor. I think the personal pies are great. Square with chicken, sausage, ham and pepperoni– This sucker is a monster, it’s heavy and dense, but it is good as hell! The bottom has a nice crunch and the toppings are great. The sausage had a very distinct taste, it’s not like any sausage at any other pizzeria I ever had. The chicken was nice and crunchy and was seasoned nicely. The ham and pepperoni was good.
