Good tasting pizza with great choice of styles and toppings. Salads are huge and all is reasonably priced. But don’t make the mistake of coming here thinking this is a sit-down restaurant. It’s strictly a counter service only, carry-out kind of joint with lawn furniture both indoors and out in case you need to park your tushy while waiting for your pie!

My first time going in there it was just to grab a quick slice and I was not expecting anything mind blowing, but that is exactly what I got!!! So, I went back a couple weeks later thinking about getting another slice, but I heard another customer in there talking up the«Godfather» sandwhich… best beef I ever ate!!! I grew up with the owners of Portillo’s and still talk to the daughter of the owner’s of Buona Beef and have been around the italian beef block a few times but the Godfather sandwhich at Lucia’s is the WINNER!

Their hours say they open at 11am on Sunday. I guess they work when they want to work. Called a few times, drove there bc it was on my way, and there were no lights on. Guess this tells me why they did not answer the phone. 2 hours later, still no answer. I plan on calling groupon for a refund. Was able to go back and give it a try. For a local pizza place, not bad. Very clean.

We wanted a deep dish but largest was 12 inch so we went with an 18″ thin to feed our family.(2 adults, 3 small children). As soon as I picked up the pizza and held it in my hands, I knew we were in trouble. It was sooo light. Sure enough, there was not enough pizza to feed all of us and it wasn’t cheap. Pizza was $ 21.87. TASTE: Let me just say that I would never go back. I have had better frozen pizzas.

You know those places you really want to like, but you just — don’t? That was Lucia’s for me. I read the reviews pre-Groupon purchase, but I figured it’s pizza and I’m a sucker for anything with a crust, sauce and cheese, so really, how bad could it be?(For Heavens sake, I gave a 5 star-review on Casey’s gas station pizza, so it’s not like my pizza standards are that high.) Lucia’s just didn’t have the right stuff for me. We ordered the Tipsy Margherita +sausage and an order of breadsticks. The pizza definitely had some potential. The sauce was good and I liked the basil & olive oil on it, but that was where my Lucia’s love ended. We were charged $ 4 extra for the sausage but there were only a few pieces on it. Had I not had a Groupon and got it half-priced, I probably would have called to complain. The crust is usually the oh-my-god-i-could-DIE part, but I wasn’t impressed by the crust at all. It was just kinda flat and bland. The breadsticks were drenched in olive oil and if you know anything about oil, you know that olive oil has a very distinct taste. A little goes a long way, so next time don’t pour the whole container on my breadsticks please, bleechhhh. I want to add this to the«never again» list, but my hope is that the owner reads some of these reviews and takes it constructively. After all, if he’s willing to make a few small improvements, I think it could easily be a 4-star place and be a very successful pizzeria.

I wanted to like this place… really. I hate giving bad reviews, but the pizza here is terrible. I had a Groupon, so basically the pizza has half price. But even if it had been free, I would have paid too much. We ordered the«Garbage» pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions & green peppers. The crust was tasteless, the toppings minimal, not enough sauce or cheese. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Pizza has a nice taste because of the sauce. Not heavy on cheese and the crust is thin, but a good pizza overall because of the taste. This should be seen as a carry out, as the dining is just a few tables which I would see more in the area of a fast food restaurant not one for a dining experience.

I would have given it a No star but Unilocal wont let you post without one. Awful service! Owner has no customer service skills. We came in on a Saturday night about 6. We had no idea this was not a restaurant. Website very misleading. There was only 1 person working in the kitchen. We ordered garlic knots(appetizer)., small thin crust, small deep dish. We still had NO food after 35 minutes. Counter kid called owner to come in and help. 50 minutes later, we got our Garlic knots. I asked where our pizza was, and the owner said momentarily. 55minuts still no pizza. Owner said deep dish takes 45 minutes, didnt you read the menu? I said we were prepared to wait for the deep dish, but we still didn’t even have our thin crust. He then went in and started complaining about me to another customer. I heard him, approached him and said we would like our money back, and we left. I can’t imagine how they will stay in business with such poor service and slow pizza preparation. Won’t be back, and will tell allow our Elmhurst and Hinsdale friends not to go.

This pizza is excellent! Slices are huge, cheese is tasty, the sause is like no other I have tasted, and the crust is damn near perfect. The staff is friendly, the owner will be you best friend by the time you leave. The restaurant is clean, and looks like it has just been remodeled. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. i will be going back! VERYSOON… like maybe tomorrow soon and the next day after!

Fairly good food. The wings were overpriced. Tasted the carnivore and californian calzones. Good but not Albanos on roosevelt good. Would definitely go back with a groupon.

I work near Pauly’s Pizza-ria, and I must say for the price; it’s a great spot to grab a bite to eat for lunch. The slices are of good portion, and there isn’t much competition in the area for pizza by the slice. Unfortunately, there’s not much of a dine in option, and the few tables they have might be filled. Overall, great food to go.
