My Uncle’s Steakhouse

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years, I simply love it, I always get the parrillada para uno, Queso fundido, and flan con dulce de leche. I always take my family and have a wonderful dinner here, plus the staff is very caring and warming, especially the server with the mustache, I forgot his name but he has been there for over 10 years, very nice guy

Skirt steak. Skirt steak. Skirt steak. One of the better skirt steaks I’ve had and the portions are generous. Mixed drinks especially white sangria meh. Sides meh. Steak excellent especially the chimichurri sauce.

Bad attitude, server lied about credit card minimum. Poor customer relations we’ll never go back !

If you love skirt steak. You must try this place at least once. I’m sure it’s going to be one of your favorite locations after your visit. I usually order the Complete Skirt Steak. It’s that GOOD! Been here several times and never wrote a review until now. It’s definitely due and deserves one. The staff is very nice and polite. Very attentive when their not busy. The place has a nice feel to it and if you go on a off day. It’s a quiet and relaxing place to eat and watch TV.
I’ll definitely return for some more Skirt steak.

Five stars all the way.
A cozy place to have dinner. The waiter was friendly and engaging. The empanadas were light and fluffy with just the right amount of spice in the filling.
The mixed salad was a nice size to share and we were offered both balsamic and traditional vinegar without asking.
We both had the skirt steak which was delightfully seasoned and cooked to our desired temperatures. The chimichurri and hot sauces were very good.
Desert was excellent and the coffee came with steamed milk.
This place is a keeper for sure.

I had the half skirt steak with rice and beans on the side with sangria to wash it all down. This is my first time trying their food and I must say it’s very delicious! The waiter was very attentive, well spoken and friendly. The food came out very fast and I had a great time out. I didn’t try my friends lobster ravioli but it smelled and looked good!

I came in with my famly and orderd a few different kinds of steak and some sides one order of steak was like rubber it was not eatable so I ask can I return it and all of the staff got wild and start shouting and saying racist comments and the rest of the food came ice cold and the older guy followed me outside came in my face and said «let me take a close look at your face because I will never ever serve on you again and your kind of people «this place should be shut down for being RACIEST

My uncles is one of my local favorite steakhouse. Every time I come here I order skirt steak, I love my steak well done and it’s pretty hard finding a steakhouse that their well done steak isn’t dried. The service is great, servers very attentive and friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere makes you feel as if you were home. Thumbs up!

For our anniversary diner we decided to come to this place because of the grilled Sweetbread included in the Barbecue for two. They brought drinks, bread, meat, and then no grilled Sweetbread. I asked for them. they said that they don’t have them anymore because the supplier raise the price. What??? Why did not they change the menu? Why did not the waiter let us know? If I knew this I never ever had sat down.
Update: AFTER THIS REVIEW, the manager came really aggressive to our table and request to modify this review. Here is my comment to you mister, the price I paid for the barbecue even when I did not eat it was Almost $ 40 that included a side dish,(Russian salad) you did not include it in our take home bag. So, now you owe ME a side dish! My uncle’s management should concentrate in at least to accomplish what the menu says…

Came here with family. We had the skirt steak which was good. Their hot sauce is super hot… bro in law thought he could handle it but started sweating like crazy.

Pork chops were over cooked but still has nice. They definitely need a baked potato

The food is great but their service is terrible. Great steak, great chimi sauce, but as much as I love their food I no longer tolerate their poor service. Dining there takes forever, slow service. The fastest delivery I’ve ever gotten from them was 1.5 hours. There was always something wrong with our order, like forgetting a dish, or the wrong side dish. I admit I miss their food, but I’ve given them too many chances.

the steaks. my god the steaks. this is the home of fantastic meat. if you’re a carnivore like me you crave a delicious well seared steak with lots of flavor and none of that fancy frilly stuff (veggies)
steaks are served with a side, your choice of potatoes such as fries, mashed, and their own style or a baked wedge potato. they also have rice and beans which are amazing. appetizers aren’t that amazing, we had calamari but they tasted pre made frozen (commercial) and it was an extremely small portion (like 10 small rings).
regardless, if you’re hankering for a slab of beef this is the place for you to visit. forget those chains across the street.

I’ve been here once before the new management, but it was more than two years ago, so I have little memory. Anyway, my experience today is pretty good. The chivito steak is filling and tastes great. The steak is tender and very juicy, and nicely balanced with ham and eggs. The garlic sauteed vegetables is also mouth watering. They also have great chimichuri sauce. The staff here is very friendly and attentive to customers. I just hope they can improve the quality of their french fries and Russian salad.

So I haven’t been here in awhile and realized it’s under new management since the last time I was here. Décor is pretty much the same and so is the food, which is great. Same staff too. Little things that changed I think for the better. The presentation of the food was a little better. They serve two dipping sauces with their bread, and those were presented better. To be honest, I didn’t have an issue with this stuff before but now that it improved, it is definitely noticeable and appreciated. The staff here is great. They know us because we have been here tons over a long time and they are always polite and very attentive.
The name sort of changed. It used to be Mi Tio’s Steakhouse. Now it’s My Uncle’s Steakhouse which is what Mi Tio means. As far as the food here, I can only comment on the steak. I never have anything else. I either get the Chivito or the Mixed Grill. The Chivito has a steak, ham, eggs, salad, potatoe salad and fries. The Mixed Grill has all types of meat. Steak, sausage, blood sausage, chicken (I think, it’s been a awhile). That comes with either fries or rice and beans.
Either choice is filling and is great tasting.
There are two TV’s in the dining area which usually has sports on. They cheese cake is good here too. The price is right I think.
Parking can be tough as it’s across the street from the Queens Shopping Center?(not sure what it’s called but it has Target, Best Buy, Cold Stone, DSW, etc)) and a few blocks from the Queens Mall. It’s metered parking on Queens Blvd but there are free spots around the corner. I always find a spot at least within a few blocks. Sometimes I might have to circle the block a few times but I always find a spot. It’s a few blocks from the Woodhaven Subway Stop for the R and M.

First thing I ordered two items from the menu and the waiter informed us it was not possible they did not have a cook that could make a steak sandwich. Food was not good, I asked for my dish to be taken back because it tasted like frozen breaded chicken that was over heated in the microwave I felt everything was over priced two coke cans came out to be over $ 5.00 plus I was charged for the food that was taken back. Do not recommend this page to anyone.

Empanadas in this place tastes great. We got the chivito entrée, which could feed two people. And don’t forget the chimichuri. So all in all, great food, decent portions, and affordable price.
Edit: This is an update to my previous review. It’s not so affordable anymore. When I first started coming to this restaurant, the Chivito was $ 17.95. It’s currently $ 24.95, a nearly 40% price increase. A notch off the review.

I appreciate them seating my party of 7 with no reservation as quickly as they did. However through the course of having dinner, the waitress barely attended our table and it took forever for her to refill our drinks. The food wasn’t all that great… We ordered five ½ skirt steaks, filet mignon and the rib dishes. From the beginning before ordering we asked for two separate checks which at the end when receiving the check it was all in one. We asked again to separate it and the waitress said they’d handle it at the register, in which I went up to have it adjusted with the owner (found out after several minutes). As I explained the split of the check, he brushed me away telling me to go sit. This was extremely rude of him! I politely sat and waited another 10 minutes which the waitress finally came over with the checks. We noticed the split came out more expensive the the original. I went up to talk to the owner and he didn’t want to help fix the problem and left the restaurant. Another waiter did help us, which it took another 20 minutes to resolve the owner’s mistake. Overall it was a terrible experience and would never dine here again. I believe this is just an overly priced Latin restaurant in an area they feel they can overcharge their patrons.

It is now my go to argentine restaurant. The sweetbreads are to die for! Decent prices too.
