You will found every filipino food that you needed and there are not pricey if you will compared to Phil-Am, but one thing I notice here; was the Cashier has a bit attitude. ” Sorry Ate pero medyo masungit ka and suplada” Smile ka din minsan pag my time. Di yung babalik ka na agad sa computer mo pagtapos ko magbayad!”

There’s an eating area in the back of this grocery store serving luke-warm, home-cooked style Filipino food by people who look like they would rather be somewhere else. The taste of the food isn’t bad at all, though. Try their bicol express and chicken BBQ. The chicken adobo wasn’t bad either. Prices are very reasonable and portions are filling.

This place is really convenient if you live near Middle Village or near Queens Center Mall. I usually drive to go to Phil-Am to buy my Filipino necessities but ever since this place has opened, this is my to go to place as it is closer to my home. They may not offer as much products as Phil-Am does but they sure deliver to what you really need. They also have a carinderia styled restaurant at the back with different delicious choices in a weekly rotation.

So I was at Bank of America and starving. Fired up Unilocal and found out this place was across the street. What a gem. In the back of the store there is a great buffet which they took their time explaining. Had some great slightly spicy beef stew, rice noodles, surprisingly tasty pork with shrimp sauce and water crest. Amazing!

Location of this place is incredibly convenient! If you’re ever up for something a little out of the norm and feeling a little bit adventurous after you’ve done your shopping in queens center mall, stop by here for novel food items not easily found outside of certain neighborhoods! Filipino food is up there for me at least in terms of uniqueness and variety of foods, this place does the trick, but was just average in terms of quality for me. I ordered a bbq pork kebob marinated with a sweet and tangy soy based sauce, which was good, but not really anything to write home about. The meat was chewy and had a nice spring to it, but the fact that it was a tad bit cold was a bit off putting. the Sissig was pretty good here, different than what I’m normally used to at other places, but still good! had a great combination of bacon like smokiness with a generous helping of onion, consistency was a bit slimy and temperature was lukewarm the other dishes were incredibly forgetable, one was sliced up pig ears in a vinegar and tomato sauce, which had way too much vinegar for my liking. the other dish was a beef stew dish that tasted too much of tomatoes and too sweet for my liking as well. for cheap and convenient food for when the mood strikes, this place does an okay job… just don’t expect anything other than average here

Cool little Filipino grocery spot that also serves food in the back. The BBQ is great, and I always make sure to pick up a couple of pouches of Calamansi juice whenever I pop in. The Halo Halo is not all that great, though happy to have this place in the area.

Really great Filipino food here. Lots of choices and very tasty. I have come here on many Sundays after church. Portion sizes are quite generous as well. I particularly like their Bicol Express. Also has a grocery store.

Want some cheap, good filipino food? this is the spot! Food here is cooked already & you just got to pick which one you like. They have lots of choices. I’m suggesting to get their sisig or pork bbq! Its really good. They have lots of vegestables too. If you want to get some filipino groceries & goodies like crackers, junk foods & desserts, you can get it here too! Its a mini grocery/mini restaurant type of store. Love the location too! Very close to where I live so if I’m lazy to cook this spot is just a few blocks away & my filipino craving is solve.

I found this place has the deliciously spicy and AUTHENTIC Bicol Express. It is affordable to eat the real deal menus. It is self serve, but at least must have a clean table for the next customer. They have 1,2&3 items with a bowl of white rice. We bought 1&2 items and each item comes with a rice bowl. I suggest 1 more extra rice because 1 item is good = 1 bowl of rice. So yum!

This place is the real deal, family-style Filipino food. Get the lechon, BBQ, and sisig if available.

I never liked Philippino food but one time I was so hungry and I decided to avoid all local food venues including Nunoodle which right next to them and my fav. I picked a combo that includes soup, rice, and side portion meal. Perfect size and so delicious. It has turn into my place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the weekends when I am stuck at home working on assignments

The food here is very hearty and authentic, and the flavor is a little bit stronger comparing to the several Filipino places in Woodside. Their pancit bihon and grilled pork are both delicious. However I would be happier if they can have more beef and chicken dishes.
Catering Review: 6÷6÷15 My wife and I decided to cater for our daughter’s 1st birthday. We went to the actual location to try some of the food, particularly the pancit palabok and the bbq. The pancit palabok came with thick noodles, with a very delicious sauce, meat and shrimp, and sliced hard boiled eggs on top. Thank god for no weird seafood pieces like chopped squid like I’ve found at other places. The pork and chicken bbq, on the other hand, were just okay. We opted not to order for catering at a pricey $ 2.50 a stick. We did sit down for lunch and tried the pork adobo as well but it was way too oily and the pork had too much fat on it. For the party, we ordered: 100 pieces of lumpia shanghai– standard, crispy, a hit with the kids especially. 25 pieces of turon– fried banana/jack fruit dusted usuaully with brown sugar wrapped in spring roll paper and fried, yummy! 1 tray of pancit palabok– as memtioned above, very good. ½ tray of Beef Kalderetta– spicy beef stew with chopped peppers and carrots. The beef was very tender, moist, easily cut with some but not too much fat on it. Very delicious. ½ tray of bicol express– spicy pork dish– the only dish I did not get to try much of as we were hosting the party. I did not hear anything bad about it though. We opted to make our own lechon kawalli(fried pork belly) because catering for that was too overpriced here. [check out my Unilocal review for Fortune chinese supermarket] Note: ½ tray is really the way to go here. It’s not that they have only one sized tray that they fill half of. Instead it is a slightly less deeper tray which in my opinion holds almost the same amount of beef/food/etc and at about half the listed price of the full tray item. We still had so much leftovers for the next few days after the party which had about 25 guests. As the closest location to us here in Queens, this business is definitely a great place to cater from and one we will keep in mind for future special occasions.

The salvation of this place is the Porchetta! As I was about to go home, they brought out a big piece of roast pork belly wrapped in crisp looking and evenly roasted pig skin. They sell this by the pound. I brought it home for dinner. The meat is tender and juicy encased in evenly roasted crisp pork skin. What a treat! It is like an Italian Porchetta but better! Another dish they sell which I like was the small butterflied fried fish. Although dry, it is crisp. I could eat the whole thing without removing any possible fish bone left over. Although they gave me the traditional Philippine sauce for roast pork, I prefer eating all the above with garlic vinegar. If you eat it at their restaurant, they do have garlic vinegar. If you take it home, they can give you the special lechon sauce for the pork. The other dishes are prepared in advance so it is not so fresh. The place is very reasonable. For under $ 10 you could have a full meal. The place is inside a grocery store. Hence, you enter the restaurant through the store.

I love that my neighborhood is chock full of specialty ethnic markets, such as this one. Located right across the street from both the Target shopping center and Queens Center Mall is this market/buffet style restaurant. I was really pleased to see that I could easily get ube ice cream from here as opposed to trekking out to Woodside. Filipino food isn’t exactly vegetarian friendly, and the one veggie dish I got ended up having pork in it, but the food certainly looked vegetarian friendly. Would love to come back to the market, though, to stock up on Filipino seasonings and snacks.

Buffet style Filipino food with lots of options for carnivores, but I won’t hold that fact against them. The food here is pretty good, and authentic but there were more than a few occasions when the food wasn’t hot(I for one am not very fond of warm meals). There is a lot of oil in the food, especially with the pork adobo, and certain dishes could use more flavor. The prices are inexpensive and is a good option for a quick lunch, dinner or snack. The service here was hit or miss, but the fact that it is always clean makes up for it. Not bad, but certainly not the best. Still Sariling Atin is a great addition to the neighborhood.

Well, well, well !!! What do you know. !!At last a well awaited Filipino store /mini restaurant is now in the hood. Certainly a pleasant addition to a variety of ethnic cuisines here in Elmhurst . What more, the food is unbelievably delicious ! There’s always a line for it and very affordable !! And the selections. !! you can always find your favorite Filipino Food everyday, like Kare Kare, Dinuguan, Pinapaitan, Adobo, Sinigang, Paksiw etc. They also caters & take orders for lechon !! A dozen dishes that includes everything on the menu is a steal for $ 375. So there you are folks… it is conveniently located on Queens Blvd, near the Queens Mall. & the now defunct St. John’s Hospital. Last but not least, everybody there are very Pleasant !!!

I consider myself a very picky person when it comes to Filipino food. To me, if my dad didn’t cook it, your dish is not good enough :) But now being 2,800+miles away from my dad’s cooking, this place is the next best thing. The front portion of the store is a grocery store, which is great because I like to create desserts, and some of my dishes are filipino desserts, so there are certain ingredients I’m not able to find in Manhattan’s typical grocery store. The second portion is is where you can eat, they have a «turo-turo» style of ordering. If you don’t know what turo-turo is, it means ‘point-point’ because literally, you point to the item you want to order. Concept=point-point. Great portions of the ulam(main dish) and rice. I’ll definitely will be back to eat and shop.
