Tucked in the back corner of a shopping center i only noticed when i went to the Peets next door. Seems they are a chain mainly in Missouri and Illinois but now several locations in SD. I had never heard of them. Pretty good selection of healthy, green and protein foods. Ordered a small bowl which would have been very adequate but they accidentally ordered me a medium I did not finish. Good clean no fat and healthy. Fairly decent pricing for such healthy fare. Im pretty sure the small bowl for $ 6.50 would have been fine. Good selection of healthy teas and juices. Will be back

Its sad to say that 11days after my first review which is below this review. I need to amend my review from 4 stars to 3. The staff at this store is getting worse they are not customer service oriented. Iris said she was brought over from Carlsbad because this store wasnt doing good but she nickle and dimes every order but doesnt care enough to get the orders right. We ordered a small and a large cyob they gave us 2 smalls and the cook was standing there when we ordered, then she was irritated that we asked for extra terriayki and wanted to charge us for the extra. But if they werent so stingy with it to begin with we wouldnt need extra — they have really good food but the owner doesnt know how to hire good attitudes. Reduced to 3 stars for bad attitude. —first review— These guys have a great product always clean and fresh good tasting food. But the reason for 4 stars is because the people at this store are mentally in capable of getting an order correct. Seriously 8 out of 10 orders we have placed have been wrong. People who wont make a point to remember an ingedient requested from their menu are loudly saying«I dont care!» The saying is usually«its hard to find good help these days» but that now«its hard to find people with a hint of self respect and dignity» the sad thing is these folks would respond with pay me more and Ill remember. Therein lies the problem entitled people dont realize that you have to prove yourself before receiving a raise. Be prepared to double check your order and you will have a great meal.

I love CBW. I am constantly searching for healthy but tasty lunch options. I have honestly had lunch here 2 – 3 in one week multiple times. I have tried lots of different options on the menu. I normally get the high protein bowl. I like it with chicken and steak and I love the ginger sauce. But I always load up at the«salsa bar» that has way more then salsa. The staff is very friendly. The portion size is just right and the price is not inexpensive but I feel like you get what you pay for. High quality ingredients and a clean and happy environment!

I usually have the high(double) protein bowl. It’s great and vegetables are Super fresh. Good assortment of sauces, salsa and hummus in a «salsa bar» staff is friendly and well trained! Highly recommend this alternative for healthy eating out.

Awful experience. Service was awful. Food came out in drips and drabs despite only 6 other people in the whole place. They forgot two of our main items. Food tasted like it had been in the fridge too long: steak, chicken and tofu all tasted like that. Sauces were institutional. If I’d been at a hospital cafeteria, I’d give them a pass but not at $ 9 a wrap. Don’t waste your money, we won’t go again.

I’ve eaten here on three occasions now, and really enjoy the fresh, healthy alternatives. As a vegetarian who eats limited dairy, I appreciate the freshness of the vegies, salads, and the wide choice of proteins which include tofu, quinoa, and beans. I don’t enjoy fake«meats» that other vegetarian restaurants offer, so to be able to find reasonably priced, healthy food, and the ability to customize your salad or bowl is great! If you’re not a vegetarian, there seems to be a good range of other proteins. Plus they have a great salsa bar and good drink options including iced green tea.

I came here about a month and a half ago. Interesting idea for s restraunt but I think they just need to narrow down the menu. I ordered a steak and chicken bowl and teo different sauces and it was just very bland. Could’ve steamed my own veggies at home and cooked chicken at home and had a 10x better dish. Chicken was overly dry and steak was rubbery. It was all so bland. I feel like this place definitley has the potential for success just need to sort out the menu a little bit.

Tried CBW for lunch today. I liked it, didn’t love it. Love the idea of a fresh, healthier place to grab a quick lunch or dinner. And I love the options — different grains, proteins, and veggies served up however you like. I got the steak fajita bowl. The small size was plenty big and I actually couldn’t finish it. And the price was spot on($ 7.50), except for the charge to upgrade to steak($ 1.25), which is fine, but the portion of steak in the bowl seemed a little small to me, especially considering the upcharge. The bowl was mostly rice, with beans, peppers, zucchini, avocado, pepperoncinis, and steak on top, with a yummy cilantro-jalapeño sauce. The flavors were really good and the steak was tender. I didn’t like the pepperoncinis though, the flavor didn’t really meld with the rest of the bowl and it was kind of weird. I’d get it without next time. I got my kids their quesadillas and I feel like those were WAY over priced. $ 5.25, which is high, and it wasn’t even that big or filled with tons cheese like I’d expect. The employees were friendly and the place is super clean and modern! Parking is kind of a pain, only 4 spots right in front, and the rest of the lot gets filled from the other stores nearby. Loved the unique salsa bar with dipping sauces, fresh lime and mint, corn & black bean salsa.

Food here is fresh and fantastic. Staff a little green, which I suppose is to be expected, but friendly none the less. Can’t go wrong with the fajita bowl. Load up on the cilantro sauce, it is exceptional!

I love their Mediterranean wrap. You get to choose the grain and protein. I usually get the Quinoa for the grain because it is organic. I wish they also had organic rice, but so far they don’t. The wrap is served with chips, although I would prefer some other healthier choices. They have a nice selection of dressings you can help yourself to including hummus, a corn mixture, salsa, and a spicy buffalo dressing to name a few. My friend likes the bowls including the stir-fry, power bowl and fajita bowl with chicken and rice. The price of the wrap with Quinoa, which costs extra, is around $ 9 not including a drink. With the bowls you get a choice of 2 sizes. The smaller bowls start at around $ 6.25 and are actually fairly good sized.

What a great addition to the Encinitas community! I’ve eaten here several times, and am officially addicted their Quinoa salad. The greens are crisp and fresh, the chicken moist and full of flavor, their dressings are all delicious, and I’m thrilled they have a selection of organic iced teas. I’ll be back again and again! Also, the staff is very nice and friendly and the place is CLEAN. Love it!

Remember the lyrics«I want it all, I want it now»? Freedie Mercury would be happy with CBW. They ahve elevated fast food to a new level. I think of it as modular food, the menu lets you create exactly what you want to eat. Pick the size, grain, protein, vegetable and sauce. This is a win win for picky eaters like me! i love the focus on nutritious choices.
