Tonight was my first time there-it was highly recommended by a friend who claimed it to be the best hamburgers in San Diego– As good as the hamburger was, my friend did not tell me about the fries which were better then the best! The people that work there are so nice and really take pride in their product. The manager was telling me about the quality of the bread, and the meat, and the freshness of all the ingredients. I am sold on the place!

I had great service last night. Everything was just right. Ordered the little burgers and they were big enough to satisfy. The ingredients were tasty and fresh. Large fries can feed three people. Two little cheeseburgers, one little burger and one large order of fries cost $ 25.

UPDATE — I went back yesterday and got my order to go… Burger was fine when I got home… My hot dog which was supposed to be onions and light relish had light onion and NO relish… Again, seems like a small thing but these few guys keep screwing up my order. I WON’T be going back. chick filet for me or I’ll go to island or in/out or smashburger Normally I have no problems here but just placed order for my usual burger(that I always get) extra bacon, onions and pickles on a bacon burger… I got lettuce, tomato, 2 pickles no onions and bacon. Took it up to get onions and now have to wait for my burger while I’m eating my dog… May sound silly but I always eat my burger first… It just throws me off and is making this an unpleasant experience. Call me a princess… But meh review

I gotta give them credit… they have one of the best burgers I’ve had. Fresh and tasty. Really no complaints. I particularly like that this location has one of those automatic coke machines that spits out dozens of different drinks. I was going to have water until I spied that machine, then I just had to order a drink too. Drinks aren’t cheap and I hate to pay a couple bucks for something that costs the vendor a few cents, but I’m a sucker.

favorite burger joint by far. new to the area and stopped in. Employee by the name of Alejandro was genuinely polite and friendly. food was on point as usual and didn’t seem very busy so no wait at all. highly recommend a burger with bacon, mushrooms and A-1 sauce

I have been to five guys before but it was during its grand opening phase. I don’t remember the prices back then, but they seem really expensive now. The little burger was good, the meat was juicy and I really enjoyed the topping I chose on it. I ordered the hot dog just to see try it out and see what it looked and tasted like, it was nothing fancy. I’d rather had gone to Costco and spent $ 1.50 instead. The best part of the whole meal was the Cajun fries. I think that would be the main reason I come back to Five Guys is because of their fries. Other than that, I don’t think I’d wanna spend almost $ 20 on three small items.

This has to be one my favorite burgher places of all time. Order the small fries, because you can’t finish anything bigger(trust me). This location has motivated chefs. Don’t go on the day the little dude with the glasses is working, though, because his constant whistling, which you can hear piercing your eardrums despite the loud ambient music, is incredibly off-key and doesn’t correspond to anything playing, apparently.

Have eaten here a few times. Usually, good, tasty burger. Last weekend I tried to have a quick lunch… as I approached the restaurant, the piped in music was loud heavy metal. Thought it would be quieter inside, but even louder. Could hardly hear the person to take my order. so, I left but not before I told him why I couldn’t eat there. LOUD, HEAVYMETALISNOTMUSICTOEATBY.

Mediocre cheeseburger. It was pretty oily in general. Fries were over-salted and I had to wipe off the salt with a napkin before consuming them. The major turnoff was how pricy it was compared to its competitors(In N Out). A double cheeseburger alone was over $ 7! They claim free toppings and sauces but in reality they factored that into the base price so you would be a sucker if you didn’t want all the toppings. And the fries were $ 2.79? Way overpriced. It’s funny how they flash a lot of «awards» that were dated a long time ago. Like voted the best burger which was awarded in 2008. What happened after? Surprisingly their restrooms were pretty clean and had a pleasant smell. The dining area was very messy and full of peanut shells all over the floor. I’d reserve your classic burger and fries elsewhere.

Used the app to place a pick up order for the first time and loved it. Food and service are always great, place is clean and the servers are always friendly. Definitely recommend this location.

Love this place, burgers are great! I skip the bun and they are the only ones who have figured out how to wrap the lettuce so you don’t get mustard all over your hands… ok maybe you still get a little. Fries are great too. Buffet of soda options is nice. The only downside, no chicken so my husband who doesn’t eat red meat wont join me for one of these. But otherwise, highly recommend.

Once again, when I got home with my take out burger, it was missing veggies I ordered, this time mushrooms and green peppers. I did get the extra grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and jalapenos. It was not busy, no line, so I don’t understand why my order was wrong… again. The one star is based only on this. I love Five Guys burgers so would give them a 5 star for taste and their customer service is great… very friendly but is it worth it when order is wrong too often. My order #35, at 8:05 p.m. tonight

Not impressed… The venue was completely lifeless, as were the workers, and the product left me with nothing but buyers remorse. The burger was average at best, yet was priced as a sit down restaurant yet it’s fast food. The fries were great ranch fries, but when I asked for ranch they said they didn’t serve it, but offered BBQ sauce instead… That’s just offensive for some reason… As I said on my check-in that day, I shamefully admit that I wish I would have put on my largest sunglasses, hat and bowed my head to go to McDonalds instead. The people who compare this place to In-n-Out should be ashamed.

What can I say? The burgers are always freshly cooked and delicious, the toppings are plentiful and flavorful, and the fries are addictive! My 97 yr old grandma makes me take her here whenever I come to visit — that’s a mark of how good it is!

Wow, NOTHEALTHY but oh so good. I had the veggie sandwich– mushrooms were delicious! Piping hot which I love. Cajun fries were delicious. Definitely need to run a mile after eating here though.

Five Guys makes a good burger. No doubt about it. Love the different options to customize– my husband always gets jalapeños for a spicy burger. Kids love their hotdogs. Endless peanuts! Fountain drink machine has tons of sodas and flavor options. Employees are always very friendly and helpful. My only wish is that it was just a little($ 1/burger) cheaper. Doesn’t keep me from coming, but it hurts a little to pay $ 7 for a double cheeseburger with no fries.

Awesome friendly service, just like at every Five Guys location I’ve been to. The burgers are delicious, and you can have as many toppings as you want on it, all for the same price! I like that the burgers are so customizable as far as the amount of toppings you can choose from. I think this is a good place for a burger when you want more than just a simple bun with meat and cheese.

Five Guys serves up an excellent burger. They use good quality ingredients and you get to build your own burger so if it sucks, you’ve only got yourself to blame. Everything is usually prepared well, prices are reasonable, and the staff is always really upbeat and happy. They remind me of the staff at Jimmy John’s, if you’ve ever been to one of those. As a chain, one of their unique items is that they always put the place where the potatoes are from that they use for fries. I’m not the biggest fan of them myself, as they are on the spongy side and I’m a crispy fry guy. Their restaurants have a clean red and white color scheme. They offer free peanuts to those who dine-in, which I’ve never quite understood. Inevitably, they end up all over the floor. This particular location is good; never too busy, plenty of parking, and plenty of seating both inside and out. If you’re looking for a good burger, this is a good place to go.

The food is good but the prices are way too high for the quality of food. I feel like I need to eat more peanuts to justify the price for a burger & fries. Thank God Encinitas will have an In-N-Out soon for my occasional burger cravings:))

What’s my one guilty pleasure each week? Why enjoying some warm, spicy, and salty loving between my legs as I drive home from the beach after surfing! I’m talking french fries of course(what else would you think?)! Five Guys Cajun Fries rock, and they give you lots of them! You can walk or call in your order but they always make sure to cook your fries fresh in person, which means you have to wait a little longer for the goodness but it’s worth it! I like to visit different places for my once/twice a week salty pleasure release and Five Guys remains one of my regulars! Maybe what make Five Guys fries so good is that they cook them in yummy peanut oil! A regular order of them literally means you score a ½ a paper bag’s worth, not the tiny little sleeves you get in other fast food places. As for the burgers, they’re good. Not especially big but more than sufficiently tasty. You can also choose as many free toppings as you want. Steak sauce, grilled mushroom, onions, etc, you can really load your burger up but, if you choose too many wet ingredients, you’ll end up with a soggy mess. I usually get the sandwiches since I don’t eat very much red meat. The veggie sandwich is the burger bun with lettuce, tomatoes, and whatever other toppings you might like. The grilled cheese is the burger bun with cheese and whatever other toppings you want. Five Guys doesn’t have veggie burger patties, but, oh well, I usually come again and again for the fries any way. As other reviewers have said, the drink machine is hella cool. You can mix and match flavors of drinks and even come up with some creative combos. And the free bulk peanuts are tasty too, that is, until a little kid walks up, bypasses using the scoop provided, grabs a handful with his/her bare hands, drops some on the floor, picks them up, and puts them back into the bin for other to eat(seen on several visits), gah!!! I wish there was a way rope off the peanut area off so parent’s could patrol their kids more, sigh. See you again soon Five Guys, for more guilty pleasure between my legs!!!
