McDonald’s

Bottom Line: Nice for a McDonald’s but still a McDonald’s.
I pretty much only go to McDonald’s for three things: (1) coffee, (2) diet Coke and (3) a bathroom break on a road trip. I must say that the recently remodeled McDonald’s in Encinitas has a nice interior and an efficient double-​wide drive through lane. Basically its perfect for my purposes. Service here seemed fine. The only downside to this McDonald’s, aside from offering low quality, highly processed food like all of the other Golden Arches, is that getting out of here to head west on Encinitas Blvd. is very difficult.

I have never been treated so HORRIBLE AS THE CUSTOMER IN MY LIFE… LUIS the «shift leader» as soooooo rude to me when I went and asked about the fries that were missing from my order. LIKE HE THOUGHT I WANTED IT FREE… just because I am not driving a Mercedes or carrying a Michael Kors purse doesn’t mean I am not willing to pay for food if it was MISSED ON THE ORIGINAL ORDER… IF YOU HATE YOUR JOB THEN QUIT BUDDY… I was just trying to get my kids some food after a long day of fishing… we will NEVER STOP HERE AGAIN!!!

This location has been remodeled after there was a fire a few years ago. It’s now very modern and clean. I’ve been inside only once, and usually use the drive thru. As like many newer McDonalds this location also has two drive-​thru ordering stations. Every time I’ve come here the staff is very friendly and nice. They some times offer samples for people in the drive-​thru which I’ve never seen before at a fast food restaurant, a nice change! This location also has some outdoor seating.
The food quality is the same as every McDonalds, enjoyable and easy to know the flavors and quality you’re going to be getting. A little known fact most people don’t know is if you want the happy meal toy but don’t want their food, you can buy just the toy for $ 1 plus tax!
Only con is the parking is very tight, but since it’s located next to Sprouts and another shopping plaza, there’s additional parking feet away.

I was given apples as part of Happy Meal which had a «use by» date which was 5 days prior to my visit. My conclusion is that this site has poor food safety practices. If they fail to follow food safety practices for a clear date on a package given to customers, imagine what may be going on with food for which customer does not see expiration dates.

Lived near for 3 yrs and never sampled out this Mickeys Ds until now. Great double lane drive-​thru, ordered some trashy chicken nuggets, the 10 piece, although the meat is conventionally raised and the coating system hasn’t been revised in 30 yrs, they were solid.
The girl at the window was nice; I peered in through the 1^st window and the place looked clean. Good experience. Solid work guys.

Tonight was my first visit to this location since it was rebuilt, and it will be my last. I’m not sure if this is corporate or private owned, but either way it was embarrassingly unclean. Most of the tables clearly needed wiping, and there was a flock of gnats at the drink station. I think they were mostly feeding on the ketchup dispenser that had clearly not been cleaned in a while and had suffered a blowout or something. Nasty! Anyhow, I should have taken pictures to share, but my recommendation is to see for yourself, and ask for a manager if something needs to be taken care of. There were plenty of workers, but not one came out to do any cleaning for the 30 minutes or so that we were there. Disappointing.

Was craving their breakfast sandwich and stopped by during my break.
The lady taking my order didn’t hear my order and wasn’t saying anything. Then told me to order when I was ready, so I repeated myself. I wasn’t told the total for my order.
Got to the first window, the guy didn’t repeat my order. He told me my order was $ 7.00. When I receive my receipt and drove forward I realized I was charged for someone else’s order.
When the lady at the second window handed me my food, I informed her of the mistake and showed her the receipt.
She barely glanced at the receipt and just brushed it off. She told me it was basically the same price and that if anything she thought the orange juice I got was more expensive.
I don’t care about if it was more expensive or not, without having my original total how would I know? The matter could have been addressed in a far better manner. They should just be lucky I have a hankering for their breakfast sandwiches every now and then. Will probably stay away from this location though and suggest everyone does the same.

If I could give a negative zero review, I would.
Pulled up to the drive through, the automated message came on asking if we would we like to try something new that they were trying to pawn off to the publix, and when I responded, waited for an answer… then they rudely turned the lights off.
Not even an ounce or courtesy to say «oh, we are closed now».
No, just shut the fucking lights off without saying shit.
You weren’t the first choice, anyway.

I posted the pictures of how disgusting and dirty this McDonald’s location was. I would think being located in Encinitas at a high-​traffic huge shopping center this place would at least be clean. This was the most disgusting place I ever walked into. It was not busy when we visited this location, but to start off we walked in and saw wet floor signs everywhere even by the tables but the floors were not wet, in fact as you can see in the picture the floors were dirty and all spotted up like they hadn’t been mopped or swept all day. Something had went wrong with the ketchup dispenser when I walked up to it to use it as you see in the picture that is what it look like and that is what it stayed looking like for our whole visit. The trashcan was hanging out of the trash bin and it also stayed that way for a whole visit. Our food order was wrong also! This place needs an actual manager! It looks by the other reviews that no one really expects a lot out of a McDonald’s and neither do I… but this was just atrocious please see pictures and if I was the owner of this business… I would definitely want to know what the heck is going on at this location. Don’t go here don’t walk into this place it’s disgusting.

The cashier was polite and fast, even though it was busy during lunch time. Food was good and order was right.

This mcdonalds has probably the worst service of any mcdonalds, especially when they get busy, the crew is often getting yelled at when the little things don’t go their way. You can tell it takes a toll on the crew and that some of them really don’t want to be there. They used to have a young gentleman that worked there who seemed to do his job well I don’t what happened to him. He would stick up for his fellow crew members and most of all would not let anyone disrespect his co workers let alone himself

I love the remodel, nice, clean, efficient, they even video games for the younger folks.
Definitely a more upscale McDonald’s geared for adults.
Two lanes for the drive-​through with limited parking but there’s a big shopping center parking lot next-​door.

It was confusing to figure out how to get to the parking lot from El Camino Real. Then, after I requested my food item, the cashier got confused and had trouble understanding that I wanted a cup of water to drink. She ended up voiding my entire order and then, after another person gave me a cup of water, she re-​entered my order incorrectly.

They have revamped their place after the fire a while back. Instead of being connected to their neighbors via playpen they now have 2 drive thrus. Its like a mcdonald island with cars driving around it.
Its a lot cleaner and looks more modern than before.
Other than that just your average McDs with friendly employees.
