Just wish they would get the take out orders correct, everytime.

Decent service pretty clean like the food I like the fact that it’s nearby my house in walking distance and I also love a chicken bowl and avocado burritos there yum :-P

Great customer service! Wonderful employees. Food is alright but it’s not all about the food. The younger employees are the best. They always make the wait for chicken bearable.

I went there last night and the people working were so friendly and nice and accommodating. Their new batch of chicken was not ready so they offered me different solutions and a free drink and apologized for the wait several times! The management should appreciate their employees there.
I’m giving it 4 starts because I feel the food quality of the whole franchise has gone down over the years. The rice isn’t as good and they got rid of their bbq black beans which was the best.
But as for the service 5 stars

Every time I go here, my chicken is so overcooked, hard and burnt that I now have to travel to the far away one on Vanowen Street. I live across the street from this one, but have to get in my car, and drive about 3 miles away. I’ve ordered here at least a dozen times, and the food never gets less overcooked. But, the macaroni and cheese is undercooked? Go figure. Never going back to this location.

Worst El Pollo Loco ever. Been here multiple times every time they forget something on the order and told me its on there. Not wanting to go through 3 bags of stuff I believed them. So annoying. Also the won’t ever give out the hot sauce that they keep behind the counter, they always say «oh we just ran out of that ». I’m pretty sure they are instructed not to give out to much of it.

Do yourself a favor and order the dark meat. I don’t know why everyone in america orders white meat. ITS SO BLAND.
I have vivid memories of eating in Pollo Loco with my mom whenever we would hang out and I have always associated this restaurant with good times. So forgive me if I am COMPLETELY BIASED. but seriously, how else can you go wrong? I know you can even go cheaper if you go to an El Super and go to their kitchen to ask for their rotisserie chicken combo.
But for an everyday meal. Less than 10 bucks. how can you go wrong with this?

i thought that i had finally found a clean El pollo loco when i went there a month ago so i went there again this weekend. The salsa bar was disgusting and there was not one empty table that was clean enough to eat at (my wife had to clean the table). Whoever took over Dairy Queen a few years ago and made it a clean place should buy el pollo loco since it was great back in the day. btw, the avocado, which looks great in their pictures, is always disgusting looking. too bad

I saw my dish and I laughed. I showed the employee and asked her is this the portion and she said rhats all. The picture will say it all.

From all the fast food around, i judt love going there. Its just across the street from where i live and the chicken is sooo delicious. They are a little slow this is the reason why i am giving them four stars instead of five. If you are hungry and you want to feel full its the right place to go.

An okay place. Sometimes the food is good and fresh and sometimes its the opposite!!! The best time to go in for fresh chicken is in the afternoon if you don’t mind the line :)

I loved Pollo Loco in general, but this one’s no good at all. They are always out of everything, No thighs, no corn on the cob, no chicken nuggets, no french fries. All in the same visit! Kind of surprising that the Encino store would be so different than the Sherman Oaks store, since it’s similar economic demographics, but nope. Skip it.

We came here for a quick dinner before a high school basketball game. This was maybe the second or third time that I had been to an El Pollo Loco. I have to say that I was pretty impressed.
I ordered the Ultimate Double bowl with Baja Shrimp, rice, beans, cabbage, salsa, sour cream, and avocado. It was pretty good. There was a decent amount of shrimp and it was seasoned well. I liked it and I would definitely order it again. It also came with tortillas on the side.
The restaurant was fairly clean. We took our food to go, so I am not sure if all the tables were clean but the ones that I saw were clean. The employees were friendly and helpful, especially since I was not familiar with the menu. The server helped me find the right item to order and did not seem bothered at all by my questions. The food came out pretty quick and looked pretty good on presentation.
I walked here so I am not too sure about the parking. There is street parking but it is limited and I think there is a small lot in the back.
I would return when I am in the area and looking for a quick but decent meal.

El Pollo Loco is my go-​to fast food place when I’m getting a car wash across the street or need something quick to pick-​up for lunch. I think is my first review of a fast food chain restaurant LOL.
I don’t usually review or check-​in at fast food chain restaurants, but wanted to share my love for this healthier fast food joint. The chicken is always flavorful and moist.
There’s so much variety at El Pollo Loco and seems they like to change things up. Last visit I ordered something from their baja menu — salad, shrimp, avocados, and chicken. When I’m feeling health conscious, it’s the chicken breast and steamed veggies. Sometimes I just want a plain and simple meal. If I go with less healthier side, it would be their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes.
It’s great option when you’re on the run and want something quick and tasty that’s not McDonald’s or Carl’s Jr. The only issue here is parking. I’ve never had an issue, but the lot is always full. Not a bad fast food option if you work or live in this area.
This is a chain restaurant and very popular during lunch. Set expectations low on ambience or service. It’s fast food, so you can’t expect much. The only place with great service at a fast food chain restaurant is Chick-​Fil-​A.
I would pick this fast food over the McDonald’s across the street any day. I find the reviewer complaints about this place hilarious. It’s El Pollo Loco people!
The chicken also also reminds me of my childhood!

So, I’m on this whole chicken adventure by myself. I would have never stepped foot into el pollo loco, but in my attempt to get a quick lunch to-​go, I thought why not.
The 2 chicken combo with 2 sides was pretty good. I had no idea that they had FRIES as a side since it was my first time ordering food from this place. I was pleasantly surprised on how well seasoned the chicken was, and it wasn’t bad chicken at all. The green avocado sauce was good, and the FRIES was a surprise! It was skinny, super crispy, and yummy!

Increasing the Rating at this location to a 4 due to improvements in Customer Service from a prior 3 rating. If the Parking was better I’d give a 5 «As good as it gets» rating. If this location had the same parking as in the Woodland Hills Pollo Loco and that other location had inside restrooms like this location, would give a 5 rating at both places. :-)

Small portions, long waiting for an order, even though there was no line and the place was almost empty.
It sounds funny, especially for a fast food restaurant, but it feels «pricey» for the level of service and amount of food you get there!

Not attentive servers. Doesn’t know about their own foods. I asked if there’s any bacon in the burrito, she said no. When I got the burrito, it had pinto bean in it (which has bacon). And how can you be out of legs & thighs in El Pollo Loco? And I guess they’ve got the worst salads ever.
Good clean eating/​sitting place, avarage EPL food quality, bad customer service. Only go if you’re fan or don’t have any other option: D

I really takes so little to not have BAD customer service. From the cashier who NEVER made eye contact to the ten minute wait for lunch; I won’t be going back. Too bad because I love the food!
