Craving a big fat juicy burger on a warm LA day. This place did not disappoint. Decent sized pattie with several menu options. Friendly staff. Ordered one fry to share– it was plenty. Opted to eat outdoors as I was quieter. Passed Howie Mandel with his staff chowing down.

The best ahi tuna sandwich I’ve EvEr had. On the rare side, just the way I like it. Great garden. And you can have a beer. Lovely and rare outdoor spot to eat and have your fave beer and kids friendly

This is a cool place. Great food, fast service, all around fun family place. I recommend it to anybody who likes hot dogs or fries. My kids especially like hot dogs, so we enjoy this place. They also have excellent hamburgers, and my wife loves the sweet potato fries.

Everytime I come here, I run into Sarah Michelle Gellar. And it always takes me back to her Buffy days… back when the WB ruled TV… and back when her hubby was in «She’s All That»…but alas, I digress. I really love The Stand. The atmosphere is really laid back, they have a fairly spacious parking lot in the back(a rarity in LA!), there’s tons of seating both inside and outside, and it’s really just a great family-friendly place! Besides being great for all of those reasons, the food is actually super yummy! I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, but my favorite thing is probably the steak salad because it comes with a spicy chimichurri sauce that has a great kick to it! I also really like their kale salad, hamburgers, onion rings, root beer floats, and so much more. I could go on and on and on, but all I can say is… The Stand is definitely one of my favorite places to hang out at in the Valley!!!

Came here for the second time to try there burgers, first visit I had a hotdog and it was not bad at all. We decided to go back and try the burgers and let me tell you, they look good on paper but at least my burger was not good at all! Reminded me of the LAUSD burgers we got at school. Tasted almost identical! Meat was hard and dry! Very dry. The cheese tastes just like the costco Kirkland cheddar cheese, took me back to the old school days. 2 stars go out to the friendly staff, thats it.

Love their veggie burger as well as their salads and ahi. Service is great, the food made to order and you can add or omit anything to your liking. Prices are fair for the quality and portions that you get. Clean and simple restaurant, plenty of seating and not too busy when we came in for an early dinner. Huge menu with so many things I still want to try, worth returning.

Eat in the patio if the weather is nice. It’s a great outdoor space. I want my backyard to look like that(minus all the gravel). My must haves: Sides: Sweet Potato Fries or Fire Fries when I’m in the mood for something spicy. Entrée: I like to try whatever specials they’re having. The last special I had was their Lamb Burger and it was awesome. The bf had their Cubano and he wouldn’t shut up about how delicious it was. From their everyday menu: Their Southwest Chicken Standwich/Salad is really good as well. *Note: The patio area is dog friendly! I haven’t taken my dog there yet, but I will one day! They have a water dish out there for your pups.

We love The Stand in Encino. The outdoor patio in nice weather is hard to beat — in the middle of Encino, for goodness sake! I can imagine what they could get for the square footage by selling to a developer. ;-) Thankfully, the garden area with lights in the mature trees is still there for us all to enjoy. Private parking lot without having to pay for valet parking is also a big thumbs up! Food is always freshly prepared and full of taste temptations. They offer some very unique specials — twists on toppings for burgers. You can opt for turkey patties instead of beef, as well as other lighter choices. Desserts like fruit cobbler are yummy and fairly priced. The bottled beverages are a bit high, but the food is a great deal.

This is my second time being here. The first time I order a bacon burger and fries. The burger was excellent. As were the fries. This time I ordered a chili dog and an order fries. Again, the chili dog was excellent. As for the fries, they were horrible. They were beyond well done. If I hadn’t known better I would’ve thought I ordered an order of breadsticks. You know, the hard breadsticks used to get in some Italian restaurants. The fries had a consistency of a saltine cracker. I should’ve sent them back, but time was of the essence.

The stand is one of our go to restaurants. It’s nice because we can just throw something on, go and always count on something good. The coleslaw is a definite buy. It is absolutely delicious. My dad’s favorite is the kale chicken sandwich. He says that it is very tasty, tender, and a healthier option. My mom just loves to eat some potato chips and a salad. I hope you enjoy your visit!

Our second time here– the first time i wasnt yet a vegetarian and we had two reallygood burgers. This time we had theveggie burger, big blue and abc burger. They were all really great! Just the right size(unless you’re a reallybig person), not too filling(i hate having a burger and then having to be carried out because i can’t move), very juicy and well made, great bun! Its a place where you pay and sit down where you like and they get the food to you when it’s ready. Its very spaciousand comfortable. There is indoor and outdoor sitting where you can get a nice breeze. Very nice service, this is a place where the workers appreciate you as a client and treat you with warmth and want you to leave happy. They have a pretty good beer(their own) too! They offer wine and beers and desserts and also hot dogs and sandwiches. The prices are pretty reasonable and worth the quality you get(9 – 11 $) but it doesn’t include the side(which i likw btw. Cause then you can share some fries and not explode).

Hubby was wanting a hot dog for dinner and we needed a place that was pet friendly, so The Stand is where we ended up. The patio is spacious and felt inviting. My dog, Brownie had a nice time and enjoyed seeing the other dogs that were there also. Inside appeared clean and the girl who took my order was friendly. After placing my order I was given a number and told my food would be brought out which it was and in a decent amount of time. Chili Dog($ 4.95) — This hot dog is steamed and comes with chili, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and yellow onion. I asked for the tomatoes to be left off and for mustard to be added. The hot dog was loaded nicely however it ended up having tomatoes on it and there was no mustard anywhere on it. The chili wasn’t terrible, but wasn’t anything memorable like say the chili at Original Tommy’s which is amazing. The hot dog coming out not the way I ordered it is also going to alter the way I feel about the taste since I like certain foods how I like them just like others do. My husband went inside and asked for some water for our dog and was told it would be brought out. After 15 minutes and no water for Brownie, I went inside and ended up getting a cup from one of the employees and getting water from the fountain machine so she could have something to drink since it was a warm evening. I really did enjoy the patio and felt relaxed there, but didn’t enjoy the food enough or the mix up in how the food came out enough to come back in the future.

I accidentally stumbled upon this place while driving down Ventura Blvd and was pleasantly surprised with this discovery. I must say, the ABC Burger was one of the best overall burgers I have ever had. Avocado, Bacon, and Cheddar atop a perfectly cooked medium rare beef patty blew me away. Every bite was pure bliss. This burger alone is why I give this place 5 stars. As for everything else: the fire fries were very spicy(almost too spicy), and I was disappointed that they were out of draft root beer. The space is quite accomodating with a great outdoor seating. Service was excellent with ordering done at the counter and served to you at your table. I will definitely be seeing myself here more often.

This is an awesome place to come for a quick bite at a good cost. I’ve come here a few times during the week for dinner and once on the weekend and service is pretty efficient. I usually sit outside when I come because it’s dog friendly! Their patio is nicely decorated with strings of light. Just a note, the floor is basically all dirt and it can get dusty so if you bring your dog, don’t forget the wipes! They have a wide variety of hot dogs and burgers but I usually order a regular chili cheese dog which is pretty good for the price. Also, the fire fries here are a must! It’s basically fries with buffalo sauce on top and tastes fantastic. All of their other sides are between $ 2-$ 6 and are good to share, so you and your party can definitely order multiple things and have a taste of everything. The inside of the place is a little chaotic, but I noticed the staff working very fast while still maintaining a hospitable vibe. One thing that happened to me last time I was there though was a buslady was cleaning off our table and accidentally spilled a full cup of water all over me. Normally I would have been really upset, but she felt bad about it and offered me a few free desserts for the slip up. I’d say she handled it pretty well!

Yup… this place is a must!!! I can now say I have been here 2 days in a row for lunch… and I got to try something new on their menu. The service was really friendly and fast which was great. I ordered the ABC burger, which was amazing and shared steak fries with my sister which was really good. Of course, burgers and beer made for a great pairing so I had the stand’s blonde ale. Cold beer on on a hot day hit the spot. I also had the ice cream sandwich for dessert. The ice cream was good, but the cookies were the best part. Today I went again… but this time I got the Chicago dog! That was a really big dog but I conquered it!!! Accompanied it with some stand fries and a corona… all in all… a great meal. The Stand hits all major points on what I want for a restaurant: good food, good drinks, a variety of sides, and plenty of seating(indoor, outdoor, and patio). I’ll definitely be coming back… maybe to try a sandwich next time!

I came there last Friday just day before independence day for my lunch. When I went there last week, I ordered Ahi Tuna Sandwich and steak french fries as i posted couple days ago or so. Here are my reviews of each dishes that I ordered and had last Friday during my lunch time. 1. Ahi Tuna Sandwich —(5⁄5) I was so thrilled to try this dish since one of my friends recommend me to try this unique one as he posted that sandwich pic on the strand Facebook pages. This one is served with Ahi tuna aka half cooked tuna fillet that’s raw inside and outside is cooked just like rare steak and Prime rib, string onion, japaleno, coreslaw and orange sesame dressing. After one bite of ahi tuna, it melts in my mouth and make me crave for it for my next visit there. Crispy string onion and orange sesame dressing makes great combo for the ahi tuna and jalapeño gives a nice spicy kick after few bites. I like the fact that they use orange sesame dressing for this sandwich instead of soy sauce. Another best dish here in the Strand I would definitely recommend to the others. The price for this dish is 11.95. P. S. I would suggest you order extra corn salad for your ahi tuna sandwich. 2. Steak Fries(3⁄5), it served with sriracha sauce, cilantro aioli, string onion and melted powdered cheese. I was little disappointed that the steak was kinda rubbery and hard as rock. However, cilantro aioli and sriracha sauce makes great sauce for the fries. Therefore, it’s mediocre at the best. The price for this dish is 7 dollar. Based on my reviews for each dishes I ordered, I would give this place four stars. I will return this place for sure but not gonna order steak fries for sure as meat was kinda overcooked.

The Stand is primarily known as a hot dog joint but I mainly come here for the delicious apple slaw turkey burger and house made potato chips. The interior has a 40s diner kind of feel. The outdoor patio is large and dogs are welcome. They specialize in comfort food but there are actually a lot of really nice healthy salads on the menu too and they bring new ones in seasonally. I like that they have the choice of a plain or poppy seed bun for the dogs. They also sell burgers and sandwiches. For dessert the peach cobbler is a must! Warm and comforting with ice cream on top. They have a lot of free parking in the back. It’s not a fancy joint — you go up to the counter to order and they will bring your order out to your table. I’ve been to three Stand locations and I think this is the nicest with the most neighborhood feel. And ps they give out yummy sliced pickles if you ask for them.

Bomb! A touch of lemon zest was just perfect on the chimmy sauce which was on the chimmy steak. Reminded me of my days in morocco. This food is a travel experience in itself. SPLENDID. P. s. Not for amateur foodies

Overpriced old fashioned American food but it’s pretty damn good. Came here for a lunch date with one of my girlfriends because I had always wanted to stop by. The menu is typical American fare– hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries– however there are little gourmet additions here and there. I ordered the big red dog with guacamole, spicy aioli, and tortilla chips with a side of fries and a fountain drink. Spent just over $ 10. The dog was delicious and I could barely finish it with the fries. It’s not really priced right for an everyday lunch but a nice spot to hit for lunch on the weekend or after a long day at work.
