Stopped for an early dinner and ordered the crab cake dinner. Could not believe how poorly the crab cakes were made. Was very disappointed. Fortunately the other meals my friends had were ok. Our server was OK at best as well. Not sure I will go back.

Very good food, great service from friendly wait staff. I had the salmon special, boys had hamburgers and grouper reubens… everyone was very happy. The view is just lovely…

Good food, polite people waiting on you. Good quality, and atmosphere. I would go back. Make a reservation, if you want a window seat.

Our evening started with drinks downstairs at the patio bar. Wait staff was attentive, but I was disappointed when our wine arrived in a plastic cup and was only a few ounces. We went upstairs for our 6:30 reservation(on a Friday) only to discover they had mistakenly put our reservation on Saturday. The hostess was very apologetic and said she would still be able to seat us in about 5 minutes. Sure enough even though the place was packed, our group of 5 was seated in just a few minutes. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was delicious. The only major drawback to the evening was the noise level. We were seated on the main floor one row of tables back from the windows overlooking the gulf. We had to talk very loud just to hear each other. I’m glad we tried out the place, but don’t anticipate coming back for dinner.

Great menu(it goes on and on) and great food. Servers are informative and attentive. Oversized portions ensure extra for lunch the next day if inclined. Prime rib is excellent.

Yikes, this was an odd experience for sure… While visiting Englewood from CT, we heard Gulf View was a good place to stop in to have dinner and a couple drinks. We walk n and it there is nobody there save for one older gentleman at the bar, we walk up to the bar, Alex is the bartender I believe his name was, he was relatively new he stated… There was nothing wrong with him, he was totally cool and nice and helpful. But he steps away after taking our drink orders and comes back saying the manager wants to ID us, okay haha… that’s fine I like the fact that I look younger still so we all did a jumping high five at that idea and when we came back down it came to me that the manager was the gentleman to our left, the only one at the bar eating and having a drink… at 6pm? Who cares about a possible late rush right, «I’m having a drink, wooohooo!»… So I try to get a conversation going with him about what there is to do in the area and what he recommends off of the menu. I could barely get a peep out of him, I finally managed a «prime rib» suggestions so I quickly went for that… It was not good, I asked for medium rare and a quick dip in the au jus(bless you), it came out medium to well and lacked every bit of flavor you could think of… I’m not sure what rub they use if any but maybe it was just that cut they forgot to get there rub on with. There was nobody there, we felt like we were a bother to the establishment and you’d think that since we were the only ones there it would’ve been a different experience but unfortunately no… We quickly left after eating and returned to our favorite spot of the week while we were there, Flounders.

My husband I just left this restaurant. We ate upstairs which would probably be nice if you had a sunset but the food was definitely not worth going for. My steak was very undercooked when I asked for it to be well done. I could barely cut it in half because of the gristle. My husband scallops were undercooked and the French onion soup tasted like it was straight from a powdered package too salty and bitter. I will not waste my money again at this place. You would think that if someone returns a steak that and nothing else was eaten that a manager would come out and ask you about your experience, but this did not happen

My wife and I tried the open air Beaches Down Under restaurant and bar down below about a month ago and were very happy. The burgers tasted freshly ground and hand packed. The fries the same. They had wine for 4 dollars a normal 5 to 6 oz pour.(Closer to 7 I thought) Very happy. Last Friday we invited some friends from Punta Gorda to join us. The 4 dollar Glass of wine was noticeably smaller in a small plastic glass. Probably 3 to 4 oz if that. The burgers tasted previously frozen because of their dryness. The fries were ok but barely warm and got cold fast. My friend had grouper sandwich and ate it in like three bites, good but tiny. We ordered onion rings to come as an appetizer, they came out last and greasy. Must have a new cook staff from a month ago. Be careful of lobster roll as one of us asked about it being Maine lobster and the server explained it was what they called 80⁄20. We asked further and she explained it was 80% local lobster, 20% artificial filler. Not exactly what our friends wanted to hear.

Everything was good. The drinks, the food and the service, all good. Very happy with my meal. Had the she crab soup. Lots of crab and flavorful. Also had the grilled shrimp appetizer. Had feta cheese am kalamata olives, grilled tomato and a balsamic reduction. Our server was Kim who did an excellent job. My husband had the chicken in wine also good. Not dry and well seasoned.

Overpriced for the amount of food your served, would have been better off somewhere else. Should have listened to the locals.

Pros: View(4.5), ambience(4) Cons: Food(0.5) — no flavor on all four entrees we had(not talking about spices either); everything was bland — we had snapper, grouper, scallops, and Angus hamburger. I did not mind paying more for the view, but the food needs to improve big time. Go there only for an overpriced drink and view.

Always consistently delicious! I’ve been coming here with my family for years and it never disappoints. Tonight I had the crab soup which is always creamy and rich. Their Caesar salad is one of the best. The prime rib is sublime. Served with a bowl of au jus and some horseradish it melts in your mouth. The sweet baked potato is like candy. I can’t comment on their desserts because we are always too full to have any! :)

The food & service was very bad, the only thing that saved this review as a 1 star is the view overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. I’m definitely not bringing anyone here who is visiting us from out of town, that would be just be embarrassing.

The food was good but a bit overpriced for the serving sizes. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food and we tend to bring leftovers home but there really wasnt that much aftwards to account for such an expensive meal. Cheapest items were still $ 20 or more so I would have expected food on dining plates rather than fitting on a salad plate. It has a nice view and it is the opposite of pub food which is what’s available next to the beach so I can see the appeal. Would I go again, meh maybe.

Don’t waste your time with anything other than the prime rib, It was fantastic! With that said I was not impressed by any mean with the Baby back ribs, you could tell they were pre cooked and then frozen. They came out cold and I had to send them back, but they gave me new fries and tried to make up for it. Ahi tuna was great as well Don’t forget to try the prime rib!

Gulf View Grill. Had a reservation tonight for my birthday. Went with another couple and his service dog. We’re given an interrogation and told to «not cop an attitude» by a surly and ghetto-like hostess. She immediately became defensive when my friend said«Please, call the DOJ and inquire.» She responded with(and I quote) «Sir, don’t cop an attitude with me» in a very confrontational manner. When I chimed in that she was horrifically unprofessional, she told me that I was. I then reminded her that we were consumers, not employees and that wewould call the news or bring our business elsewhere. She literally, stood on the steps and continued to engage in confrontation. We just walked away. Talk about shaming someone that has severe diabetes, two strokes and a small service dog. The size of the dog seemed to confuse her simple mind. And since it wasn’t a seeing eye dog, which needed to be large enough to guide and see, she couldn’t comprehend. She insisted that such credentials could be «bought anywhere online» as she continued to engage in the confrontation… we just walked away. We left disgusted. I will NEVER return.

This was our first visit to this place and it will not be our last. Our server Leslie was very pleasant and spot on. She was pretty much seated all at once with at least 5 tables and she did not miss a beat. We sat outside and the view was lovely. I had a special of swordfish with lobster on top with a sauce that was perfect… not too much. My husband had the prime rib that looked delicious. The meals came with choice of salad and potato of your choice. And the bread was great! And since We couldn’t finish our meals… we both had the leftovers for lunch today. Brandy… one of the managers visited our table to make sure everything was good. Again. genuinely very friendly. The view of the Gulf is lovely. We will be back!!!
