Rainier Bar & Grill

Every time we go to the Rainier the service is great! The clam chowder and French fries are absolutely to die for!

The quality of the food was mediocre and the service was poor. We reviewed our order twice and yet it was not right.

Amazing food! Great wine and beer list. Awesome servers. Will definitely be back!

We go here 2 or 3 times a month. Wednesday night we went and the first thing we noticed as we walked in the door, was the smell of cooking oil. Next we were disappointed in the poor selection of IPAs. Then the men’s room smelled like a sour dishrag. Fortunately our bacon blue burger and fries was good as usual and the service was good. We will give it another try, but unless the above negative conditions improve, we will probably find an alternative to visit.

This is about my fourth trip here and «EVERY“single plate I have ordered has been outstanding!!! The line to get in can sometime be a little long but goes pretty fast. The customer service is awesome and you can tell they care. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a great meal, great customer service and a great atmosphere!!! To top it all off the brownie desert is craaaaazy delicious !!!

Been here several times over the years and is usually pretty consistent. Love the Maui wowie love the blue cheese burger and always had a great beer selection. However lately that consistency and quality seem to be slipping a bit. I’m not sure if they got a new cook or what is going on but is definitely not as good as it used to be.

We love it at the Rainier! The fries are always crispy, hot and fresh. Good daily specials and consistently decent service. We have been really happy with:
1. Kobe Bacon and Bleu. It’s perfectly seasoned always a hit.
2. Maui Wowie– Delicious! This is usually a test if the kitchen knows what they’re doing… I’m always worried that the bottom bun will be soggy with too much sauce or a super juicy pineapple. They do it right at the Rainier! It was a tasty, juicy piece of chicken with just enough sauce and even my bottom bun didn’t get soggy at all. Woohoo!
3. Wraps– so far I’ve only tried the buffalo chicken wrap, but this one was a winner too.
I haven’t had anything bad yet! Can’t wait to go back!

Food was about what you’d expect from a middle of the road bar & grill, but I was tired and easy to please after a day of skiing.
What I didn’t expect was the service, which was incredible.

This place was great all around! Good was tasty and quick. And the service was very friendly! Will definitely eat here again.

Nice stop for lunch

Make sure you save room for dessert. The foods are great but the desserts are the best kept secret on the menu. Prepare to wait for a table for dinner as it gets quite busy at night. The food is worth the wait. The service is always great. One of my favorite places to eat in Enumclaw.

Ray: Since this Thursday past was also my lovely wife Libby’s birthday, Josh and I (being most dedicated son/​husband) we decided we would be remiss if we did not include her in our regular Thursday night out.
Josh came down to Enumclaw (my stomping grounds) where the three of us set out the Rainier Bar & Grill. To be fair, I have eaten there several times. I ate there when they were a disgustingly filthy dive bar (once), then several times after their remodel (in around 2001 or 2002 I think). The remodeled place was FAR better than the original!
We arrived at the Rainier around 5:00 and noticed right away how busy the place was. When we eat at around 5:00 in Seattle, we are usually the first folks through the door, and sometimes it seems like they fire up the stove as we walk in. Not so with the Rainier. They were real busy and stayed that way for our entire visit.
I ordered an IPA and the Kobe burger. I hadn’t tried that yet, so at least there was something new. Our waitress was quite nice and took our orders and delivered the beers in a reasonable time. The meals arrived in around 10 to 15 minutes. I have to admit that the burger wasn’t all that great. I mean it was pretty good, but I hear all this about Kobe beef and all and, well, I just didn’t really see anything all that special about it.
The Rainier Bar & Grill is a pretty nice place with a pretty nice interior and a pretty nice wait staff. The food was also pretty nice! Four stars for the Rainier!
Josh: This Thursday we did something a little different to celebrate my mom’s birthday; we headed down to Enumclaw to celebrate by taking her out for our Thursday ritual. This lead us to The Rainier Bar and Grill.
It has been several years since this place underwent a very dramatic transformation. It used to be a nasty dive bar that would probably rival most dive bars in how very dive-​y it was. Not anymore though, the Rainier was gutted and is now a nice hip spot right in Downtown Enumclaw.
We walked in and were seated right away. It’s interesting to note that most of the places we go to dinner in Seattle are almost empty when we arrive at our normal early dinner time (around 5:15 or so). Not The Rainier, this place was already hopping when we got there. The menu is fairly extensive, lots to choose from, and everything looks pretty good. I went with the Western bacon burger which is described as «piled high».
The food arrived, and they were not kidding about this thing being piled high. Two tall, thick onion rings stacked atop one another, making the burger look cool, while also impossible to actually eat without a manual deconstruction. This is irritating to me. It was even served with a small plate that seemed to be strictly for the purposes of deconstruction. It would have been easy enough if the top onion ring had nothing on it but the bun, but there was mayo and tomatoes to deal with before moving it to the second plate. It was a mess.
Fairly delicious though, after the work was done. Deliciously tangy BBQ sauce made my saliva glands sting in anticipation of every bite. Despite the ordeal with the deconstruction, I like that place, and I could definitely see going back. 4 stars.

Another amazing Friday night at the Rainier. The staff is Amazing. Jill made our night the most special evening we could imagine. The special was wicked good and the prime rib was tender beyond belief.
Tip: order an oyster shooter with a vodka shooter. Thats the way to kick off the night.

I probably would have never come to this restaurant if it wasn’t for the hike in Mt. Rainier area. Some people from our group suggested it, as it was on our way back to Seattle and it took about an hour to get there after our hike.
The food that they serve is a perfect post– hike grub: some comfort food, burgers, sandwiches, wraps and salads. The menu is very extensive and you can get a healthy option or a treat.
I opted for the second and got a cup of clam chowder followed by the fish wrap with two giant onion rings. The clam chowder was one of the best I have ever had! Not too creamy and with good amount of clams. I bit into a piece of lemon wedge that was used for cooking it. I guess that’s what gives it very balanced flavor with a little tang to it. The fish wrap had good amount of flaky fish (it didn’t taste as it was fried as per menu, which was even better with me), lettuce and tasty dressing. I usually never get onion rings, so these were a fun addition to me. They were really delicious too.
The servers that helped our group were smiling, efficient and had no problem with splitting our tab as many ways as we wished. I will be happy to visit that place again when in that area!

Came here after a long day of hauling stuff off to the dump. Was looking for a quick bite and a drink during a slow part of the day (a little after 3). By the time we left it was almost 5 because of many factors. The waiter forgot to put our appetizers in. By the time we had gotten our check we had been sitting there ready to pay for half an hour. We had to get up and ask for boxes and the waiter wasn’t smart enough to bring the check at the same time so we had to get up a second time to ask for that. While another waitress was working on bringing us the bill she was stopping by all the locals sitting at the bar giving them hugs with our check in hand. That made me furious.
Sadly the service was not the only poor attribute to this restaurant. We ordered the onion rings which were absolutely delicious. However the bbq sauce I ordered with them tasted more like balsamic vinegar and was very runny. I ordered the fish tacos which came with a miniscule piece of coda and a mountain of romaine lettuce (which should never go on a fish taco). The chowder that came with it was very good. My mom ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was good in flavor but lacking in substance with how little meat was used.

Busy place on a weekend but worth the drive to Enumclaw for a Friday night dinner and drinks. The food is awesome!!!
I will be back and highly recommend.

Bar CHECK, grill CHECK, vegetarian options? Not so much. They do have the obligatory veggie burger, as well as sweet potato fries. An okay beer selection, although no the most extensive in town. It seems to be a very popular place with the locals. I can attest to the fact that Enumclaw as a whole doesn’t offer many options for the herbivores, and salads and veggie burgers are almost a sign that the kitchen staff are limited in their knowledge in culinary arts as a whole, but what do I know? I can’t eat much of what is on the menu here anyways.
If someone visited town and just wanted to grab a few beers and a light snack I might consider stopping here, but if they made something more exciting like a grilled zucchini sandwich or a veggie Alfredo even, I might visit fairly often. Until that day… Meh, I’ll wait.

Shockingly… The best clam chowder I’ve had. Shhhhhh… Don’t tell my friends in Newport, RI. Cod fish n chips gets 5 stars because of batter and the tartar sauce. Another 5 stars for service, atmosphere and choice of local brews. Oh-​even the ice water is good.

Came here after a long day of hiking at Mt. Rainier & I was so disappointed in my meal. We ordered the calamari, the steak, & a burger.
My steak was dry, not juicy at all. At least the cook on it was right, but it was not a good piece of steak by any means. The calamari was fine. The burger that my boyfriend got was just sad. It had sauteed onions on it & the onions were slimy. The burger bun itself was flat & looked really weird.
We also ordered Sierra Mists & for some reason, there wasn’t any syrup in our sodas. It just tasted like carbonated water with gross sugar. We complained about it, our server gave us new sodas that tasted exactly the same as the gross sodas we already had. And still charged us for them.
The main problem I had with this place is that it’s soooo overpriced!
Not worth it at all. Thankfully I don’t live near Enumclaw so I won’t ever be back.

The Rainier was a pick for a Saturday lunch by my dad. We were all in the area to go to the local pumpkin patch and wanted some food before we headed over. My dad had been to the Rainier on many occasions with his friends and he said they had a good dinner so we figured their lunch would be pretty good as well.
The place was very cute and had a local vibe to it with a long bar and a good amount of seating for large groups. There were five of us and we found a table in the back. We all ordered burgers and fries. I got a cheeseburger and it automatically comes with lettuce, onions, tomato and mayo. I added on BBQ sauce and it was delicious. I ordered mine medium and it had a good amount of pink color throughout which was perfect for me. The fries were good as well, not too over salted and overcooked.
They had a good selection of beer as well. Many Seattle places don’t even have my husband’s favorite beer, Mac & Jacks, but this place did which was great!
The staff was really nice and our waiter was great. He kept checking in on us making sure our food was good and asking if he could refill our drinks. We were probably at lunch for a couple hours just chatting and eating. It was a great place to grab a bite to eat.
