I am saddened to say that this looks to be my last review for this fantastic restaurant. We ate here on 4÷3÷16 and the woman that owns the place said that would be the last day for this restaurant after 23 years. This was my favourite of any Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. As I’ve said many times their egg rolls are legendary and their menu all around is just fantastic. From their duck to their many chicken dishes to the seafood they just did everything perfectly. I don’t know the circumstances as to what happened nor is it my business but I wish the great folks that worked here the best and somehow hope that it can reopen someday.

Arrived at 8pm, they close at 9pm. They have a miller light sign in the front window but when i asked for a beer they say they have no liquor license. All very peculiar. Me and my wife sit down at the corner table and the server asks us to move to a smaller table. Felt very uncomfortable.

Granted I haven’t been here since 2007. I would love to come back. They make this Hong Kong Chicken, that is wonderful. I can’t find it or anything like it anywhere. We moved away, and often think about driving over to get some more. Yes it is dated, but quaint. It was always clean, when we were there. We could call in our order and pick it up at the window. The owner is very kind and always seemed to remember us. I hope they are still open the next time we are down that way. Yes they are inexpensive, but when I lived down there the local fire dept, and police always ate there. They always seemed busy, and the food always was fresh. I have never had an issue with anything I have eaten there. I can’t say the same for other places. We miss you!

If there was a barfing emoji I would use it right now. Order delivery because if you pick it up you’ll walk in and walk right out without getting food once you realize how old and dirty the environment is. At lease the lady that works the register is nice.

One of the only chinese food places in NKY that I actually like. I love the pad thai. The place is not the most up to date but we usually just get take-out. Friday nights chinese take-out and a movie are great with Double Dragon. Not very expensive at all.

Two words: cheap chinese! I’d wanted to try this place for a while and finally went out one day for lunch. It’s a good place for lunch — quick and cheap. I got shrimp pad thai(with no vegetables) — it was made fresh and out within 5 or 10 minutes. Hot and sour soup came with the lunch and it was good. The lunch combo was only $ 5 – 6. The furniture is probably from the late 70s, but it worked. The service depends on who you get… I agree with another review — the older woman is not the friendliest, but the younger staff seems nice and all are quick. It passes health inspections… so it must be safe to eat, but don’t go here for a date, unless your date requested a chinese dive.

I love to support local businesses and business owners, but Double Dragon makes it hard. The food is good, no doubt. The last three times I visited this place, I’ve had a bad experience with the same older woman that works there. I’m not sure if she’s the owner, manager, or just an employee but she is very rude. One time we walked in a full half-hour before close and she refused to let us dine in.

While the atmosphere is not the highlight, the food is decent as far as cheap lunches go. The recommended garlic/pepper spicy dish was very nice.

Granted, this place is a bit rundown. However, I feel that the food is excellent. I always order the shrimp fried rice and am always satisified on my way out the door. The owner has also recently remodeled the resturant and it looks much better inside than it did previously. If you’re a Chinese lover then I highly recommend giving it a taste. ~N

Most people wouldn’t be so foolhardy as to eat in a restaurant this dilapidated. If this hadn’t been my grandmother’s recommendation, I wouldn’t have ventured here for lunch either, but I kept an open mind. See, several years ago, Double Dragon was part of our family’s weekly after-church ritual. The food was good and the décor charming. However, by the looks of the exterior, the owners haven’t invested a dime in maintenance since my last visit over five years ago. Inside, things only got worse. The once endearing wall paper was peeling, the salt and pepper shakers grimy, high chair cracked, light fixtures tacky, and bathroom mildewy. All I could think was«If this is what they allow the customers to see, I can’t image what the kitchen is like.» I held my tongue, knowing that this had always been one of Grandma’s favorite Chinese restaurants. I ordered Hong Kong Chicken because it was deep-fried and less likely to cause serious health problems. For a meager $ 5.50, the entrée came with soup and eggroll. The egg-drop soup was inedible, but the egg roll wasn’t half bad. My Hong Kong Chicken was decent, but I just couldn’t enjoy my meal in such depressing surroundings. Next time, when it comes to dining at a shady establishment, I’ll listen to my gut rather than have it grumble at me later.
