Best Chinese restaurant near Turfway. They have non-fried food options, unlike Bamboo Garden down the road. They have been helpful to describe what ingredients are in what dish and have always provided me a satisfying meal, or two as I usually get two servings from their entrees.

I ordered General Tsos, an egg roll, and spicy salmon sushi roll for delivery. First it took 30 minutes longer then they said to get the order. The chicken was ok I didn’t think it was spicy enough for General Tsos. The fried rice was ok, until I found indistinguishable meat in it. The egg roll tasted like a microwave egg roll. The Sushi was actually the worst thing about this meal. It was not rolled very well, and it was really small for the price. The only thing I can really give this place is that if you want a lot of food you will get it. They are very generous. There are much better Chinese take out in the area

Eaten here three times and each time something has been wrong with the food. The first time I ordered delivery Lo Mein and when I opened it up it was already dried out and the noodles wouldn’t separate from each other. This tells me the noodles were cooked several days ago and they’re too cheap to throw them out and cook fresh noodles every day like they’re supposed to do. Not to mention the delivery took one hour and 20 minutes when it was no more than a 5 minute drive away. I figured maybe it was a fluke day, so I ordered again a few weeks later. I got General Tso’s chicken…85% of which was stringy and full of tendons and all sorts of other nasty hard stuff which tells me they don’t know how to properly cut and fry their chicken. I thought I’d be graceful and give them one more chance… I’m eating sweet and sour chicken right now and just crunched down on some hard gristle piece that is blackish brown and not at all supposed to be there. Red Pepper, why is it so hard to hold high standards for your restaurant? It’s obvious by your food that you are cutting corners, sacrificing quality in order to make quick, cheap money. I will never eat here again and I’ll be sure to tell others to avoid you.

My husband and I ordered delivery on a Tuesday. We waited an HOUR and a HALF and live less than 5 miles away!!! I will never order from there again! They didn’t care when we called to find out what happened to our order nor did they offer to give a discount for the ridiculous wait.

I placed an order for delivery after I received a recommendation from the hotel front desk clerk. My experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had from a delivery, and that’s saying a lot when you take into consideration the number of late night deliveries I’ve ordered in various cities. I placed my order at 12:20 pm and was told it would take 30 – 35 minutes. My order arrived at 1:25 pm, 30 minutes after the estimated time. I ordered a lunch special, which I made sure to ask first if was valid for delivery. I did not receive the soup that was supposed to be part of the lunch special and was told that was because I didn’t specifically ask for it when I was ordering. I had originally ordered a spicy tuna roll and received a call a few minutes later saying they were out of tuna, so I opted for a California roll instead. When I received the rolls they were warm, like they had been sitting in a warm car. When I expressed my concern about this I was told their sushi rolls were made with warm rice and were served warm. I noted that this was a different practice than most places that serve sushi rolls, that generally they are chilled, and in a few cases room temperature, but not served warm. I was told they have never received any complaints about this before and my concerns were dismissed as not being valid. Next, I had ordered Sprite and received Coke. And finally, I went rounds with the guy on the phone about the delivery charge. I was not told when I ordered that there was a delivery charge at all. The menu says«We Deliver, Min. $ 10.00». There is no mention of a delivery charge on the menu, and again, I was not told about it over the phone. The gentleman that took my order and that I talked to about my concerns basically dismissed my concern saying that lots of places charge for delivery and most charge more than they do. I told the gentleman that my concern was that I was not told about the charge and that it was his responsibility to tell me about it upon ordering. To this I was told that the menu didn’t say«free delivery», therefore I should have known there would be a charge. He did not understand why I was taken aback by the charge and nothing I said could change his mind. Furthermore, the delivery charge appeared on my receipt twice, so it seemed like there might have been a billing error. To this I was told that because I was 8 miles away the delivery charge was double. Not only was I put off that I was being charged for a delivery charge that I was not made aware of, but I was being charged twice, and all the employee kept saying is, «ma’am, you’re 8 miles away». I had to remind the gentleman that I placed an order from a hotel, so clearly I am a guest in this city. I have no idea where your restaurant is located in relation to my hotel, just that you deliver here with a minimum order of $ 10. I asked for a refund for the warm California rolls and the delivery charges($ 8.25). I was told that they could refund me for the food if I brought it back to the restaurant(they would not come back to pick it up because I was 8 miles away and would not refund the food without receiving it back, even though I tried all of it, which is how I discovered I was dissatisfied), but they could not refund me for the delivery charge. I then asked if I could get a refund for the lunch entrée and the California rolls instead($ 9.65), which the employee agreed to as long as I returned the partially eaten food to them. I waited for my husband to return and hopped in our rental car and went to get my refund out of principle. I just couldn’t justify paying almost $ 20 for such a bad experience. Overall, the experience was horrible. Not only is the food not good, but the customer service was even worse. I don’t generally call to complain and this is the first negative review I have ever left on Unilocal.Usually I don’t even bother to complain or get money back because it’s not worth my time. However, this place frustrated me so much because I was basically told that all of my concerns weren’t valid and were quickly dismissed with quick rehearsed responses, which made me think that this was their normal method of responding to customer concerns. They never asked or offered to redeliver food that would satisfy me, which I would have taken and would have left the delivery charges alone if they came back out to make my order right. Advice: Eat somewhere else.

Friday night delivery to local Hotel. Time frame was 35 minutes, which was fine. Crab Rangoon was very greasy. Generals Chicken and fried rice very greasy. I didn’t finish. I don’t think I will be calling again. I know everyone has a bad night, but I should have stopped at grocery and got a microwave meal.

My cousin loves this place. He recommended the chicken fried rice. The rice was ok but the chicken was cut up into small parts, mostly the parts I would have discarded had I been cutting up the chicken.

The lunch specials are fairly priced, they are pleasant on the phone and they deliver quickly, but outside of that there really is nothing I can say that is positive. I ordered and shared some of a friends meal and the entire time I am thinking I should have went elsewhere. To be honest, I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews first and that was the main mistake, my bad. The shrimp was slimy and glossy, the soup(hot and sour) was really neither and had very little in terms of content and the rice was stiff and oddly colored. I am generally a person that finished his meal and if not, will put a good dent in it, but in this case I could not. Two shrimp one mouthful of rice and one green pepper piece later, I was done.

My friend and I decided to stop in to Red Pepper to grab some quick food to take back to work. There was a teenager working the front counter(likely just got out of school for the day) and he’s the only negative comment I have about Red Pepper. He was rushing my friend(who ordered before me) and after she paid for her order he just sat down in a chair and started to read a book. I just stood at the counter for a minute and he said«oh, you want something too?». Um yes, I do.. .so he took my order and all was good. My friend and I were pleased to actually see chickens and duck being cut up in the back of the shop– no pre-packaged stuff. After a few minutes our orders were ready and an older gentleman brought the bags out to us and gave us the customer service that the teenage employee was lacking. He thanked us for our business and wished us a good day. I ordered bourbon chicken and fried rice, and the portion was huge for the money! When I got back to the office I dug right in and it was delicious! I will definitely be ordering again!
