Love coming here for a quick bite and an empty stomach! Have never waited to sit down and the food is always fresh! Good quality sushi for an asian buffet. The family loves to come here for dinner!

I honestly love this place I’m there like so many times I’m pretty sure the workers already recognize me. The food is great, the price is decent for what you get(all you can eat), I haven’t had bad customer service here yet so all in all a good experience every time. The best chow mein from any place I’ve ever had. There sushi bar isn’t so bad either

Great food, great service . Message for the lady who gave this place only one star, «stay away from buffets«and hit the treadmill.

Really good buffet seems cleaner after they fixed it up too. The staff is pleasant. I would recommend this buffet if your looks for good flavor in Escondido.

I’ve lived in Escondildo for a few years now and I love Chinese food. buffets even more. I started coming here before it was remodeled and eat here 2 – 3 times a week. It took forever to remodel and a $ 2 price increase in their meals helps pay for that. The array of food is pretty good although why they serve pizza is beyond me. The management is lacking in people skills as they talk on cellphones constantly as you wait to pay your tab. I’m a very regular patron and was stopped by management on the way out one visit and was told I’m wasting soda. I order a pitcher to ease the job of my waiter/waitress. As she admonished me I thought… you make $ 500 off of a 5 lb box of syrup.(I researched the cost and amount of servings per box)…it costs you .20 per 12 oz glass. you charge $ 1.89 each. I spend $ 50 – 80 a week there… that’s over $ 200 a month and you’re going to tell me I’m wasting YOUR money… this as I quickly pointed out to her all the pitchers full of soda left by families. So much for customer appreciation. the staff changes quickly and inside info tells me it’s due to poor management and lack of people skills. it shows. There is few highlights in the food but overall experience is bad. I’m shopping for a new Chinese place… I hear Vista has an excellent one.

I’m not a buffet person but this is decent. Servers are good at picking up dirty plates quickly and there’s not an overwhelming display of food. You can ask for a to-go box which is why I gave 4 stars. 5 stars for me would be something equivalent to a Las Vegas buffet hope this helps.

Decided to give this place a try after its renovation from being«China Buffet.» I wasn’t impressed with the food then, and it seems to be even worse now. I am not a picky eater, but there were definitely problems here. The wonton soup, for example. The wontons were overcooked which means when added to soup they become soggy. I found myself eating the meat centers while the noodle wrappings collected at the bottom of my soup cup. Trying to eat those noodle fragments was like trying to gather dead leaves. The more I tried to scoop them up, the more they disintegrated. To be fair, I did enjoy the rice and the lo mein(which were relegated to the back corner of the buffet for some reason) so I just stuck with those and the coconut shrimp which was okay, too. The meal was sub-par and the customer service was no better. The cashier was speaking in Chinese on her cell phone and didn’t even look up. She just reached out for the bill and a credit card and then handed back the card and a receipt to sign. I know this isn’t the Four Seasons, but really? Put down the phone; you’re at work. Look your customer in the eye. Smile. Is that too much to ask? She didn’t even need to speak if she doesn’t know English. Just be a decent human being. I would not recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra 20 minutes to one of the nearby casinos if you’re craving a buffet.

As a native to San Diego I have had my fair share of Asian buffets so I feel like I have a good enough reference to review this place. My honest opinion is they are great! My first time at any Asian buffet I have to try the staples: broccoli beef, orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and egg drop soup. Their offerings of each were really tasty! The broccoli wasn’t over cooked to a mush like most places can sometimes do which was a huge plus for me. Their orange chicken had good flavor, but wasn’t crispy. This isn’t a mark against them because the sauce and flavor they used was really good. Their take on egg drop soup was interesting. Chicken and corn in egg drop soup? Must be an Esco twist. Wasn’t bad but I wasn’t expecting that. I also gave their mushroom chicken a spin which was also very good. Well seasoned and very tasty. Their sushi offerings were decent as well. I had a few rolls and the fillings seemed fresh. Sushi rice left a bit to be desired but this isn’t a sushi restaurant. Overall the restaurant was clean, and the staff was as attentive as a buffet staff needs to be. I will be coming back!

This fairly new and remodeled place advertises, «We are the best Chinese buffet in town.» It’s the only Asian buffet in town. But slightly different from the rest of the offerings around North County. The lunch buffet is only $ 7.99(not including drink) and the offerings include items not normally served during lunch buffets; peeled shrimp, steamed clams, salt n pepper squid(my favorite), stuffed mushrooms, Thai chicken, green-lipped spicy mussels, several kinds of fish(not just baked salmon), and lobster rolls. The restaurant includes a Mongolian BBQ, which includes fish fillets(most others buffets only offer sliced chicken, pork, or beef.) They also have a sushi bar. The only weird thing was the staff; hostess, servers, cooks, and buffet line re-suppliers. They looked bored and/or mad with frowns on their faces, except when they individually came to the table to refill drinks; then one would smile and be pleasant. Most of my restaurant reviews contain comments on these two items: COKEALERT: Nope, they serve the P crap, not the real thing. TOILETPAPERNAPKINALERT: Yes & No. The original napkin was of thick good quality. But the tableside napkins were one use, thin as toilet paper.(Many cost-conscious restaurants nowadays, thinking that the cheapest napkins save money. They don’t when one has to use 20 napkins in one sitting.) However with my lunch, the one thicker napkin did just fine.

I took a bite of the noodles and there was a chunk of dirt it was a lot. That was what I got out. I thru up because the dirt was everywhere in my mouth. The manager or head lady or who ever she was didn’t even wana give me a refund. Said we were done eating anyway and it was our first plate. While she was talking to my friend something flung out of her mouth and onto the table and she didn’t even try to wipe it off. It was nasty.

Great selection of fresh food! Sushi is delicious and fresh. You can put your own stir fry together from a huge assortment of fresh vegetables and meats and have it made while you wait! Delicious fresh assortment of desserts too! I will definitely come back!

This place was disappointing. I thought it would be different from Old Town Buffet and The Buffet as it has been previously but it was not. The signs about billing you for«wasting food» are kind of nerve wracking. It does not specify how much is actually considered«wasted food». The wait staff were grabbing plates before we were finished and then gave us our bill after a few plates as if to say, «it’s time for you to leave now». The food was typical buffet food and the sushi is as expected from a buffet(sitting out for long periods of time). The only reason I give it 3 stars is because of the Hibachi grill. You are able to choose any raw ingredients you want and they will grill it right there for you. It was by far the best part of the restaurant. The chef did a good job there but I don’t think I will be returning because of the other aspects. However, they are always crowded so other people may feel differently. Decide for yourself.

San Diego has a dire lack of Asian buffets. That in mind, this one falls in the middle of the pack. about 70% of their offerings are deep-fried. There is a distinct lack of noodles, dumplings, or other steamed/sauteed options. The sushi is really dismal, but what buffet has good sushi? They’ve recently added a hibachi, which expands the offerings a bit. The renovation is nice, but the food hasn’t really improved. The dishes are greasy, and the whole place smells bad. There are ominous signs everywhere, warning you not to waste food or you’ll be billed for it.(Is that legal?) The cheapness even carries over to the candy dish at the exit.(ONEPERPAYINGCUSTOMERONLY) Good if you want a salty, indulgent heap of food.

I actually really enjoyed this buffet. It was pretty good for what it was. Love the soups. The best buffet sushi I have ever tasted. You can also build your own mongolian noodles and they cook it right then and there for you. I don’t think I tasted anything I didn’t like.

This place was awesome. Escondido needed a place like this. Its very clean and the food was really good. A friend convinced me to go here. Normally I wouldn’t go to a Chinese buffet. I’ve heard to many people have gotten sick from these places. But I went and wow was I totally pleasantly surprised. It was really fresh and they had something for everyone. I highly recommend it. My only disappointment was that I didn’t see the salad bar until I was leaving. And that was all my fault. I can’t wait to go back.

My parents live in Escondido and the restaurant choices here are slim. This was a pleasant surprise and my parents love it. They had a huge variety of hot dishes, limited sushi, decent salad bar, and even a small Mongolian BBQ station. Dessert was hit and miss. Overall thumbs up.

Came on a Sunday and even though it was very busy. It was worth the wait, because the food is so good. Their sushi bar is the best part of this buffet in my opinion. The place looks nicer after the remodel and food is still as good as before. Definitely worth coming back.

So good! Our new favorite place. We didn’t taste a single thing that tasted like it has been out to long or over cooked. Even the salmon was juicy. They have sushi here too. I didn’t try it but my husband said it was good. The place was clean and the service was friendly. We will be coming back. I think this is going to be one of our family’s new places to eat.

Food here is delish… especially for these prices. About 9.00/lunch, 13.00/dinner(not including beverage). Newly remodeled. I experienced friendly people at the front desk. Workers were constantly refilling the food, so it was always hot and fresh. Best teriyaki chicken ever. Not quite as many dishes as their other location(Pan Asia in San Marcos), but all the main dishes are there. Crab, stuffed scallops, fried shrimp, sushi(which isn’t bad for a buffet), Asian pork ribs… they even have a grill. Awesome. They have a back room they use when the main floor gets filled up, or when there are parties. This place is definitely one to try.
