Have been wanting to try Tony’s for some time! My guy brought some home this evening. He had the brisket ends sandwich, and I had the chicken meal. The sides we had were the sweet potatoes, and beans. Let me start off with how good the burnt end pieces are! Big mistake on my part for getting the chicken instead of the brisket. I’m usually a beef head anyway. Not saying the chicken was bad, because I scarfed that baby down! It had some good bbq flavor. I was just like dang. This guy knows a thing or two. Now for the sides, we are both picky about the sweet potatoes because not to toot my own horn but I make some good Kahlúa sweet potatoes. And the ones at Tony’s were pretty darn good. The beans were average. All in all I’m impressed and will be back. I have been back several times. Not really by my choice. I have chose a few different things on the menu in hopes I would like what I had. The first time I had the food it was great. The second, it was ok. The third seemed like was going down hill from there. I want to know, are the baked beans, and sweet potatoes from the can? And are they just reheated straight from the can. Yuck! Not sure how I liked them the first time! The only thing I like here is the burnt and pieces. The only bbq chicken in town I like is no longer available. It was made by the great people at Kunfusion who used to own a BBQ truck at the Duck games. I still crave it till this day. At least I knew they had homemade sides. I really wanted to like it here, and have given this place many chances. It just seems like the quality is going down. Sorry. :(

We stopped by the new express outlet for lunch. The staff was great and very helpful. But unfortunately it just is not my style. The chicken was thigh meat and slightly underdone(chewy) to my taste. The sauce was good but too much of it. The fries were excellent. My friend got the fish and chips made with catfish and again the fries were the best part. Maybe other people would enjoy it more but I’m not going to go just to get fries.

A little too sweet for my taste. But the selection is great. Maybe next time ill order with no sauce.

This place is so delicious. In my opinion it blows Papa’s Soul Food out of the water. I’m biased, I’ll admit that, but for real. Just check it out. I love the ribs here, my wife equally loves the pulled pork. It’s pretty awesome. If you eat here and hate it message me and I’ll find you and refund you the $ 8 or whatever your meal costs.

After having Papa’s Soul Food, this place just doesn’t compare. I feel really disappointed with this place. For the same price, Papa’s in heads above this place. I got the tri tip dinner with Mac n cheese and candied task and nothing stands out. The tri tip was dry and chewy with the sauce the only thing that I enjoyed. First and only time I will come here. I will definitely stick to Papa’s for my BBQ fix

The food I got was good(had beef ribs & chicken), however the pieces of chicken I got were not good. Supposed to be 4 pieces of dark meat, and I got 1 leg, 1 wing, and 2 backs. Who serves backs as actual pieces? Not much meat on them, nor is there much on a wing either. The price was fair at $ 11.00, I just thought there’d be more meat. The sides I had were BBQ beans, corn bread muffin, and potato salad. Potato salad tasted like Reser’s store bought, but was fine. The ribs were very good, and I’d definitely eat there again. Friendly staff, takes MasterCard and Visa, small, covered outdoor seating area(some minor fly/bug issues). All in all, a good place to get BBQ!

My husband and I are originally from MO, so we know good BBQ. This is, hands down, the Best BBQ we have had in Eugene. The pulled pork sandwich is amazing!

Holy cow! Authentic Southern BBQ, Tony is going to give Papa’s Soul Food a run for its money! This is a food truck type situation, with outdoor covered seating. When you walk up it smells like summer! It also reminded me of hole in the wall restaurants you randomly find while traveling in other countries. I got flashbacks of amazing foods I’ve had abroad. I had the chicken dinner, which was the most perfect, tender BBQ chicken and the most perfect spicy BBQ sauce, with two sides of your choice. I had the mac and cheese and the beans. It was a great deal too, with the chicken you get a drumstick, a thigh, a breast, and a wing. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich that had sausage links on it. Delicious! Tony was sweet and helpful, and although River Road is one of my least favorite places in all of Eugene, I will be coming back here to eat EVERYTHING!
