Let’s see: — First major US chain to offer health insurance for part time employees. Check. — First major US chain to offer tuition assistance for part-time employees. Check. — Dedication to the industry(true dedication and loyalty to their coffee growing partners with a caring, hands-on CEO). Check. — 3 kinds of great iced coffee(cold brew, iced coffee and iced americano.) Check. — Fast, consistent service. Check. I could go on and on. The deal is, as a coffee roaster myself, who owns 3 cafes, I love Starbucks. They are good for the industry and a responsible company. This specific location is great.

Okay so I am a Starbucks junkie and like most people who like Starbucks we like consistency in drink preparation as well as service. Like Four Seasons or McDonalds we like to experience the same level no matter the location. This location receives three stars due to their service consistency. The customer service has been fairly consistent and most are very helpful. In some cases the service has been right funny. This location is often busy and has a nice drive thru — it will be packed by 7:30AM if you are trying to get a coffee/drink before work so expect a line in person and in the drive thru. The drinks, however, have been all over the board. Perhaps its because I am from California where maybe Starbucks are better prepared for their customer load/volume. But Seriously? I have been here at least 3 times in three months(since moving to Eugene) where they are out of key ingredients like Berries or the Cool Lime Refresher mix. ummm what? Its a basic inventory function so I am not sure where it comes from — better planning maybe? Additionally, I generally do NOT prefer Starbucks hot coffees as I find their coffee often burnt in flavor — however I sometimes splurge and get a sweet coffee. Twice now when getting the caramel Flan Latte and ordering a Venti HOT coffee the cup is received and paid for(in the drive thru) and handed over feeling a bit light. I check and it is literally only 2⁄3 full. Now here is my problem with this — I JUSTPAID $ 5 for a dang cup of coffee that probably cost you a mere $.20TOTAL with the cup and you can’t even fill the thing up? I didn’t pay for a tall, grande or smaller size I paid for a venti. FILLITUP. I don’t like calling customer service and complaining about these things but twice I did this because the brand consistency isn’t there… just not too impressive.

This Starbucks has bigoted management and is clearly an anti-homeless and anti-humanity establishment. I deliberately avoid shopping here and I am a regular Starbucks patron, I have a «Starbucks Card» and am a «gold member.» I don’t believe homeless people are«trashing» your bathrooms. I believe you think homeless people are trash. I believe you do not allow anyone who looks poor or tired access to your bathrooms. I believe this Starbucks is ridiculously and hideously classist. These policies of barring people who look poor bathroom use is disgusting to me and I refuse to patronize a business like Starbucks that does this. Starbucks is famously available to the public and I don’t know this branch of Starbucks would want to reflect so badly on the whole of the company when Starbucks in general is a non-discriminating entity and a safe place for any person. That’s what makes the machine-like mindless consumerism Starbucks promotes more tolerable and seem more human. I really don’t care about your«location» as I was told is the«issue» here or how many homeless people are near your«location.» I avoid your«location» at all costs. I don’t give my money to classist or hypocritical establishments. I’ve had at least two really nasty drinks here from the same person who is clearly not ok with homeless, when maybe he should not have his job. That’s the cold hard truth, not that homeless people shouldn’t use bathrooms inside businesses or sit inside for many hours when they are not asked to leave. This Starbucks clearly represents the worst of Eugene, the bigoted redneck quotient of Eugene I’ve come to know and hate. I always expect to see homeless people at Starbucks. It shouldn’t bother me, or anyone else. If it does bother you, maybe you have something to learn and the solution is not to humiliate or degrade these people but to instead look at yourself and how you are dehumanizing these people. It is always awkward and uncomfortable to spend time at Starbucks no matter who decides to be there, and I’m sure others share that experience. I always get out as quickly as I can because the clientele and atmosphere make me feel uncomfortable. Homeless people are a non-mention. Unless there were like eight homeless people who absolutely reeked in a very small store and I couldn’t get away from the b.o. I wouldn’t care. Is this branch really so bigoted or greedy that it has to implement draconian and passive-aggressive tactics to keep«certain people» away? Learn what the people want and get over yourself, is my advice to this branch. You clearly do not understand your customer base. Starbucks is not for classy and monied people no matter how welcome they are. You are definitely losing customers with this classist behavior. I’d like to see this business shut down, honestly. As if Starbucks doesn’t make enough of a profit to even hire a janitor(or three). The people who work here can just lose their jobs and go sit in a Starbucks that’s too good for them. That would be justice.

Ordered a decaf mocha at 820 pm and they close at 930pm. Pulled up to the pick up window and I was told that they had been slow so they cleaned the machine that does decaf espresso so we could only get decaf coffee. Not a very good business practice.

Everyone pretty much knows what they’re getting at whichever random Starbucks they step into, so I won’t spend too much time discussing the obvious. The reason why this Starbucks, in particular, is worth visiting is the atmosphere. The interior is quite beautiful — 30 ft(maybe?) high ceiling with exposed rafters and ducts and the entire south and east walls are composed almost entirely of windows almost all the way to the ceiling. There are a multitude of different seating options, from couches and comfy chairs, to your standard tables, to a bar with high chairs along the south wall, and to smaller high tables with stools along the east wall. The interior is so spacious that even with all of these, it still feels uncluttered and roomy. Additionally, there are a number of tables and patio umbrellas outside as well. All of which make this a favorite location for studying, reading, daydreaming, people watching, or just generally killing time.

I really like this new location. It’s huge with vaulted ceilings and windows for walls. It manages to stay very light and airy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Enough of them recognize me now so that my drink gets started before I order it. This is my favorite monster corporation location.

First let me say that I am addicted to Starbucks coffee(especially their mochas). I love this Starbucks! The employees there are great; very funny and fast(even with a lineup going out the door in the morning). And I have never had them mess up a drink order(no matter how complicated I make the drink). The employees always remember me even when I haven’t been in for several weeks. There are plenty of comfortable seats and tables to work at or have meetings and the atmosphere is never too loud. Unlike other Starbucks I have visited, there is also an ample supply of power outlets near tables, a definite bonus. This is a great Starbucks and I always enjoying going here. Note to Starbucks Corporate: Please bring back the Jones Soda, I enjoy those much more than the Izzi’s.
