The atmosphere in here is very Eugene. Relaxed, a bit dim in some areas, but it adds to the mood. There’s lots of murals covering the walls, so it’s full of life! I went to get a drink and the person who helped me was really nice, patient, and welcoming! I’ve never been here before, so that was great. I ordered an orange vanilla creamosa, and I was glad to find it was one of the best I’ve ever had! Will be coming back again to try more things.

When I visit a new city I often try to find the locally owned and operated coffee houses and restaurants… there’s a personal touch you can’t find in any mass chain. Theo’s reinforces why. Somewhat limited menu, but well priced and very good coffee served with heart. Had the green eggs and ham(scrambled with spinach, ham, and pesto) — never seen it before and downright delicious! So if you’re sick of battling lines and paying for drive-by service from a green mermaid, slow down and enjoy a good cup of Joe with friendly folk at Theo’s.

Love the coffee!!! Love the sandwiches!!! The oatmeal is sooooo perfect! Great area for meeting with people and having enough space so you don’t hear your neighbors conversation as well…

Love Theo’s. Friendly people working there in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Try their lox and cream cheese bagels or the bagel sandwich with egg and ham. They have scones and other goodies too. The coffees and teas are great. I particularly like their spicy chai latte which is lower in sugar than most places. The atmosphere is wonderful. It is a place you could easily spend the day in and I have. They have game boards, a variety of chairs and couches and table situations. The place is so big that you can carry on a private conversation easily. They also have wifi and if you stay through closing in the afternoon, you can continue to sit and enjoy until Whirled Pies starts up mid afternoon. Great place to take the kids. There’s plenty of room for them to run around while you sit and talk.

This place has a cool vibe. It’s right down from my office, and is an nice walk when I need some fresh air. The staff is friendly, and the coffee is well-brewed. My only comment is I wish try stay opened later in the day. Other than that, I try to get coffee from Theo’s at least once per week. Recommended to all.

This review is from a close-by office worker who mostly only eats lunch there. Prices are not bad, but I think their rice bowl is a steal. You will get it faster if you opt for the vegetarian version. I get the rice bowl more than anything else. I love it. It has black beans, tasty salsa and avocado. I don’t feel guilty eating it and it’s fast and cheap for lunch. Their sandwiches are great and I like the variety.

Prices are Okay and the coffee is delicious. Just had a rough batch of employees in the past. Maybe it’s that or all the freaks from the adjacent Internet café, either way, it gives me the hibi jibis.

This review is based on the fact the place is hardly open when I need a cup of coffee. Hours are sporadic and out of step with the rest of the building. I’ve stopped in three times during the day to catch a shot of coffee and no luck. The hours listed on the door are apparently estimates of when it will be open. I’ve been left standing around when the place is supposed to be open. I’m not giving up but when the rest of the building is open serving pizza, tunes and other things you would think the coffee would be flowing. I look forward to a better review when I can get a fresh cup.

Theo’s was a life saver for the first few weeks after I moved here. Free wireless internet access, plus they offer computers and printers if you don’t have your own stuff hooked up yet. Enjoy a beverage(Peach Italian soda, please) and catch up on your email. The vibe is great, very open yet cozy. Plus, Cosmic Pizza is in the same building if you need something a little more substantial. There’s also a funky used bookstore downstairs that’s worth browsing.

I have been a patron of Theo’s Coffee House for six years. The staff is very friendly and they get to know their customers. Doug and Brian are two of the nicest guys you’re going to meet in Eugene, and they make a mean chocolate hazelnut espresso shake too!(By the way, if you go to Theo’s for the first time, you are morally OBLIGATED to try an espresso shake! Best beverage in the city for under 4 bucks!) Theo’s doesn’t only offer the standard coffee shoppe favorites, although they DO thoroughly cover all those bases. They also serve the best bowl of oatmeal in the city, as a recent Best of Eugene article in the Eugene Weekly described in detail. There are two versions of the oatmeal: basic and deluxe. Get the deluxe. For like a buck-fifty extra you get fresh fruit(whatever is in season), and real cream on top. Either way it’s amazing. They offer other delicacies for breakfast as well, and they have a limited but hellatasty lunch menu as well. The atmosphere of this place is quite cool too. They went to a great deal of trouble to convert this old warehouse into a comfortable place to hang out. Murals decorate the walls, banners hang from the high-ceiling rafters, and comfy couches are strategically placed to be intimate without feeling too cramped. The concrete floors are an interesting contrast to the lavish decorations that adorn the walls and dangle from the lofty ceiling. The patrons of this establishment run the full spectrum of people in this town. From teenage runaway mallrat to elderly retiree, from college student to white collar worker, from habitual knitter to aspiring musician, it’s truly amazing the variety of people that appear daily at this café. Let’s just say it’s an interesting place for those of us who enjoy people-watching.
