Updates: 1. The Rueben has gone from great to good and is now smaller. It helped to add pickles and pepperoncinis. 2. The toilets smell strongly of pee pee. 3. The people behind the counter don’t wear gloves and never wash their hands. Guy #1 plopped sauerkraut down on my sandwich from his bare hands and guy # 2 then rubbed it around with his bare fingers. Maybe I didn’t care in college?

I used to go here quite frequently. My last visit was a terrible. I bought a sub and after I had already bitten into the bread, I noticed there was mold on the bread. Yes, you heard it, mold! I told them and they refunded me my money. That’s the least they could do. The guy behind the counter didn’t seem very shocked either. Having mold on the bread just goes to show you how much they don’t check their ingredients. I will not return ever again and suggest every other student to give your business elsewhere.

Came here close to closing for tasty snack before bed. The server was a lovely individual who didn’t criticize my group of rowdy girls when we were acting silly. The place smelled like onion, which was okay for a sammie shop but not the most amazing thing in the world if you’re getting some fro yo. I like it way better than the girlier pink place downtown, but the fruit was probably frozen and, like I said, onions?

This is just about the worst thing I’ve eaten in Eugene. Took three bites, had to throw it away in disgust. Bread is bland mass-produced dough-conditioned, all the ingredients are similarly plastic-like and made in a factory some place. All of this put together by three clueless stoner dudes, which wouldn’t be bad in itself if they actually cared about what they were doing or knew the first thing about food. If you are in college or don’t know anything about fresh food compared to mystery meat fast food, this might be fine. But if you are looking for a real sandwich with the least bit of quality, don’t bother.

I’ve been a fan of the Campus Sub Shop for years now. Service is quick and friendly, the bread is deliciously soft(unlike Subway, which bakes in house yet still seems to have stale bread with a crumbly exterior), and the deli meats and cheeses are great, they seem freshly sliced(I don’t know if they are or not). I also love that they have sauerkraut, something I can’t get at most sub shops. The one thing that really is missing for me is CHEDDAR. My favorite sandwich: Salami, provolone, sauerkraut and tomato. Mmmmm They’ve expanded their yogurt shop as well, so now you can get an array of soft serve flavors and then load your cup at the toppings bar. There may be better places around campus, but when it comes to subs, the Sub Shop is, without a doubt, my #1 go-to place.

The sandwiches are pretty decent. The frozen yogurt I don’t come here for anymore because it’s the same price as nearby Yogurt Extreme and they don’t have as many flavors. Plus, they discourage sampling. A few times when I was there and sampling a flavor I noticed the staff eyeing me suspiciously, which was a little creepy.

It’s sub sandwiches vs. frozen yogurt. Makes for a weird smell upon entering… kind of like pepperoncini brine mixed with artificial sweeteners. I’ve been here mostly for the sandwiches, which are ok. Simple subs with a variety of meats and toppings. The subs come in 2 sizes– 6″ or 12″. Bread options are white or wheat, not baked on site, toppings are conventional and unadventurous, but I do like shredded iceberg lettuce on my subs. The cheese options are limited, and I think the salami tastes a little off. Also on the menu are some green salads topped with sliced cheese and meats, and individual containers of Reeser’s potato or macaroni salad. One can grab a lunch here, adding chips and a drink, for around $ 10 easily. I’m not much of a fro-yo person. When I do have the urge, I go for simple flavors sans toppings. While I can’t tell you how their yogurt tastes, I can tell you they have a bunch(6 – 10) rotating flavors, and tons of toppings(sauces, candy, fruit in syrup or fresh, cookies and cereals) which I assume are relatively standard. Priced per ounce. On two separate occasions I ate sandwiches from here which weren’t welcomed by my digestive system. Maybe it’s the quality of the product, maybe cleanliness, who knows. I probably won’t be back any time soon.

the sandwiches are okay, but could use more condiments if that’s what you put on it. Also, the bread is just pre-packaged stuff, nothing spectacular. It is basically just pre-packaged items and assembled when you order it. It’s pretty busy usually, so make sure you have time. A little overpriced. I’d almost rather go to Subway and get what I get there(it’s about the same price).

Sandwiches that are taken back in time and are made simple again. This place has a lot of variety and is extremely good for those people on the run. Although they put a lot of lettuce on their sandwiches it does not take away from the goodness of the sandwich.(I mean you can always do what my friend Mark does and scrape off half of the lettuce) That’s the beauty of a sandwich: they’re dry enough that you can just take the things off that you don’t like. Anyways, the place is extremely clean and they always have people who wipe down the tables. They always put out fresh lettuce when it starts to wilt and their meats are freshly cut when you ask for them. I’m a fan of their number 13, the salami pastrami sandwich with all the fixin’s and perhaps a little extra pepperocini’s. I hate when places skimp on the pepperocinis. They’re my favesies. My friend Mark recommends their BBQ Chicken sandwich(move your eyes over to the hot subs). Their barbecue sauce is sweet and has just a little hint of sourness that makes it extremely good. I don’t know if they make it fresh or if they even make it themselves, but however they do it, it’s extremely good. Their yogurt is good as well. If you like the«do it yourself» style that places are all over now, then this is the place for you. Their fro-yo is $.40 per ounce and is sooo worth it. Their candy is always tucked away and when they run low, they put it now. Their candy is never stale or too gummy or hard. I made the suggestion to one of the managers that he should grab fresh bananas for those people who wanted it, and voila! What do I get when I go there the next time? B-A-N-A-N-A’s! It was quite exciting actually.(: Overall, I would recommend this for students who need something quick and something yummy. I love this place and would totally go here over subway ANYDAY. Happy Eating.(:

The prices are very reasonable. However, the bread they use keeps me from going very often. It is just a cheap prepackaged french roll. If they had better bread it would improve the sandwich dramatically. I haven’t had the frozen yogurt, but they have a ton of toppings and flavors available. They don’t take AMEX.

Amazing self-serve frozen yogurt! They have a wide variety of flavors, including some special seasonal ones, and a hugeeee assortment of toppings. You can also sample the different flavors, which I take full advantage of. It is also very reasonably priced. You can get a huge cup with tons of toppings for around $ 3, the same amount of toppings and yogurt would cost at least $ 7 in San Francisco. I haven’t tried the subs here but if they are anything like the froyo I’m sure they are great!

The star of the show at Campus Sub Shop is not the subs, it’s the magnificent self-serve frozen yogurt bar. Pick from about a dozen yogurt flavors and create a sundae with a mind-boggling selection of toppings, including fresh fruit(mango, peach, kiwi, mandarin orange, blackberry, pineapple, strawberry…), dried fruit, nuts, sprinkles, candy, cereal, cookie pieces, cone pieces, and all kinds of syrups. Pay by the ounce. I got a huge serving of yogurt and a pile of fruit for $ 3.23. Check out this week’s EW for a buy one, get one free coupon. Sweet deal!

A bit better then Subway, in my opinion. I would choose this place over subway for a few reasons: 1. They have ICECREAM 2. Meat is freshly sliced 3. Cheese is freshly sliced 4. Local 5. ICECREAM! [With toppings too!]

They’ve got a good lunch deal with a small sub, drink and chips for around $ 6. As far as subs go, these aren’t terrible but they aren’t very good either. The bread and meats are cheap and not very flavorful, and the veggies are typical food service quality. Fine for a quick, cheap lunch.
