Drove in from far away and when we ordered they turned us away saying they decided to close even though there were others eating and have ordered.

A new fav for sure! I am glad I drove the distance from west side Eugene. Only issue was finding the place as it’s tucked inside the YMCA. I had the Bim Bap, yummy! Plus is it is a gluten free kitchen!!!

Vegan heaven. Epic fusion flavors here, I haven’t had anything yet that I didn’t love. The kahuna burger is the best(non seitan) burger I’ve ever had. I think it might have even been gluten free, but I couldn’t tell that by the bun, it was absolutely delicious and perfectly toasted. Lovely diner, fresh yummy innovative ingredients, friendly owner. I’ll be back asap. (Located within the ymca building but is open to the public.)

I went to Eugene and had lunch with a friend from there that took me to this place near her apartment. Small place inside the ymca but super friendly staff. I forgot what the name of the food I ordered was but it was thin noodles with curry sauce. I also got a smoothie and it literally tastes like chocolate shake with bananas, it was so delicious! Even my non vegan brother liked it, it’s that good ! Before i left I got the coconut tapioca. It taste like arroz con leche or sticky rice from Thai places I’ve had. Definitely good snack or desert. I’ll have to learn to make it at home. Will stop by again next time I’m in Eugene.

This place was awesome! When I travel I hit up vegan/vegetarian places and I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place in Eugene sooner! Cornbread Café isn’t my thing(doesn’t seem too healthy). Also I’m used to ordering two entrees when eating at some vegan places, but these plates were very filling(one entrée is plenty). Other places I’ve been are super salty or have too much sauce, but this was light, great texture and tasty. Looking forward to making this a regular spot. It is tiny and the atmosphere is like a deli, but I loved it.

Friendly staff serving excellent vegan food – this was a dream lunch! Practically everything on the menu looked amazing to me, so ordering was quite the deliberation. I finally settled on the bi bim bap. I think I’ll probably dream of the sauce that topped this dish. And who knew mung beans could be so flavorful? Everything, from the spinach, to the tofu, to the rice, was infused with great taste. I wanted a little bit of everything in each bite. I don’t live nearby, so I will just have to make to stop by the next time I have an excuse to be in the area!

Unexpectedly… perfect. The veggie burger was delicious, even on a gluten free bun(which would normally be awful). Topped with tomato, pickles, and lettuce, the patty below was chickpea based and delicious. I had curly fries on the side, which were crisp, plentiful, fresh, and delicious. They were topped in a cashew«cheese» and, together with the burger, made for an excellent $ 11 meal. This was in my top 5 all time veggie burger/fries meal!!! The only thing that would have made this meal better would be to serve the cashew«cheese» sauce in a little dish on the side so I could add it to my burger or dip my fries in it instead. I don’t live in Eugene, but when I am visiting Oregon again and traveling down i5, I will stop at Tru Veg again. The bonus was the warm and friendly staff. Be sure to visit, whether you are going to the YMCA or not – this is open to the public.

Bi bim bap is heartburn served on rice. Tofu is mushy. Service is good. Might try something else if I ever recover.

If your body thrives on REAL food, then this is the place. If you’re paleo or SCD or gluten and soy free, this is the place. I’ve LOVED everything I’ve had there yet.

Great place! The location is unusual inside a YMCA and without natural light. The great food makes up for this though — very tasty and fresh. We had the tacos and a rice bowl. Extremely nice staff.

This place is wonderful. A great variety of beautiful healthy and delicious dishes. My family shared the curry dish, the Bi Bim Bap, the RBG, and the live pizza — all were excellent! And the presentation was outstanding. Definitely was some amazing edible art. You could taste the love and care they put into the food with each bite. It’s also awesome that they’re a gluten-free kitchen and source organic and vegan ingredients. The(I’m assuming) owner Krystal was warm and inviting, and made the experience even more comfortable and enjoyable. If you’re in the area, stop by!

Gluten free and vegan, this little gem of a café is full of living foods and ethnic flavors! The chefs know how to make you a customer for life! They also have weekly specials like GF vegan ravioli which was a treat! Other menu items like Bim Bim Bap I loved and highly recommend! This little café is located in YMCA with small but decent seating area. Great food, great service! Chefs have a GF vegan cookbook out called The Maui Vegetarian with lots of amazing options as well.

It’s a bit confusing because it’s in the YMCA but the food is amazing. I had the Bi Bim Bap and it had a wonderful Miso sauce. The biggest bonus is that the walk to the bathroom smells like chlorine(from the YMCA pool) and reminded me of my childhood.

Hey y’all! A couple friends and I spent the weekend in Eugene(down from Portland) and of course we checked out Sweet Life Patisserie and Cornbread Café — Organic Vegan Comfort Food on Saturday. Sunday, though, we stopped and had lunch at a place we hadn’t ever been and really haven’t heard much buzz about, but let me tell you it was delicious! I had the Singapore Noodles(a tasty mung bean noodle dish with veggies and added tofu tossed in a curry seasoning/sauce) and a gingerade(ginger lemonade drink). One friend got the Bi Bim Bap bowl which I tasted and also thought was great and the other friend got the taco bowl which had a mild but good chipotle sauce and cashew cheez. I, and we, would highly recommend checking this place out the next time you are in Eugene. Don’t look for a stand alone storefront though as they are found in the Eugene Family YMCA. So good! :)

Affordable, healthy, vegan, and raw and served at Tru Veg. Come in and you’ll be guaranteed to come back. We are very lucky to have this friendly local run conscious restaurant right here in Eugene. I had the live pizza that came with a kale salad. They also have organic hot sauce for those who want to spice it up a bit. My friend loved his Bi Bim Bap Korean stir fry dish. I will be back to explore more of the menu and will be a regular for sure! It is also worth noting that they are located in the Eugene YMCA which offers great classes and is a great place to workout. Tru Veg also sells organic produce and take home items all vegan with many raw selections. Check them out:

This place is not a food cart anymore — it’s located in the Eugene YMCA. It is as good as it gets. Really. The food is delicious, and everything is vegan and gluten-free. The cook is a chef from Hawaii, and you can tell that he puts a gourmet flair on everything — even when you’re just getting a quick meal for take-out. My favorites are the curry bowl, the raw tacos, and the raw burger. There are also simpler options, like bean and rice bowls, and two sizes for most dishes — so you can select based on your appetite and your price range. I always get the large though! Why not indulge in healthy, delicious vegan food?
