Driving up I-5 and my husband says, «I could really use some great juice and coffee». Sure enough, a quick google maps search turned this gem up and we were so happy to have found it! My husband and I got the green coconut smoothie and a custom smoothie while my son had some of their cold pressed juice. Everything was delicious and fresh. The coffee was also awesome. My husband loved their cold water extract espresso and thought it was delicious. The owner was so friendly and helpful, if we lived closer we’d be here all the time. If you are in the area this place is totally worth a visit!

I love the juice. I adore the coffee. On a good day, life is fantastic. A lot of my fantastic days include hydration at New Odyssey. Coolest clientele in the hood; love the regulars and people watching. One of Eugene’s most Eugenie places. In a historic building, around the corner from Kesey Square.

What a wonderful place to go! Had the best juice today and the owner was so very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Wow. What an incredibly bad experience. I don’t even know where to start. The woman took someone elses order and then when we got to the counter, she sat down and started using her smartphone. She eventually took our order, but constantly said«I don’t normally work here». The guy making the smoothies was incredibly rude. Made the smoothies for the people behind us before ours, so we thought they were ours. We started drinking them, and then he abruptly took them away from us, made us feel horrible for drinking someone elses smoothies, and started slamming things around. Then he was so frustrated he took the Open sign out of the door window. First time there… we didn’t know how they were served, or if they were ours. The food took FOREVER and was«meh». He was obviously overwhelmed(there were only three other people there). Me thinks he’s in the wrong business. Reminded me of a Seinfeld episode… just replace the word«soup» with«smoothie».

Owner was incredibly rude. Yelled that drinks were ready and some people went up there and grabbed them. Awhile later he realized they had grabbed what was suppose to be our drinks. He gave them a guilt trip about it and started making our smoothies again slamming stuff around the entire time. It was super awkward and unprofessional. When drinks were ready he yelled at us that our drinks were ready for the second time. Also gave me a lecture about how using debit cards is why our country is in debt. Great smoothie though, but because of the owners attitude I will never return.

Funky atmosphere and convenient location have nothing on the great service and selection offered. We had a wheat-grass shot, the 15-bean soup, a veggie sandwich, and a smoothie with tropical fruits in it. All were amazing! I loved how informative and helpful the man at the counter was and extremely friendly as well. I now know to take a sip of water before wheat-grass shots! Also, the soup really had at least 15 types of beans in it and was tasty too.

New odyssey has become our go to place for fresh juice and smoothies. The owner Walt is very friendly and makes one feel very welcome. I’ve had several different smoothies and juices here. Having found out that I am expecting Walt informed me today that I will be getting a free shot of iron in my smoothies. How kind is that?! It’s this kind if personalized service that keeps one coming back. That and the fact that they have amazing juices and smoothies. I’ve tried some of their food items too and I would recommend the veggie burrito. If you are looking for a place with friendly service, that is vegan friendly and uses fresh organic ingredients then this is the place for u. I will definitely keep going back.

I always appreciate a freshly made smoothie in the morning to start my day so having New Odyssey located in downtown Eugene certainly makes my day easier! It’s a small casual café with a very humble and down to earth vibe. The owner, Walt, and his employees are charming, amiable, and always willing to create a smoothie just for you. I’m a fan of expereimenting with their smoothie ingredients so, I typically like to customize my smoothies. I also like their fresh vegetable juices. The one downside is that their selection of ingredients are not that extensive so anticipate standard smoothie concoctions. New Odyssey also serves espresso beverages and a menu containing a variety of salads, sandwiches, soups of the day, and various lunch entrees. I typically like to take my drinks to go because my prefered outdoor seating is usually unavailable. There is seating available inside but not a huge selection of tables. If you’re looking for a quick smoothie or juice fix, New Odyssey Juice & Java makes for a convenient stop. Support a local Eugene business, take advantage of the sunshine, and grab a smoothie!

The owner, Walt, is a gem. Genuine man with good quality food and the best smoothies in town. Period. There’s a list of options in the wall, but you can make any combination you want, and ask about the green smoothie! Having been a downtown business owner for over 10 years, he has his system down and the coffee doesn’t disappoint.

Eeh… 3 stars because it’s a fresh juice place and I was happy to find my daily juice while passing through Eugene. The juice we got was good(straight up grapefruit for Husband, the carrot blend — carrot and lots f greens — for me.) BUT. I found the variety sorely lacking. The smoothies are fruit, no green mixes. At least you could choose two to mix. The juice options were disappointing. All one flavor and only two blend offerings(the carrot blend and an apple blend.) Why not more blends and choices? I’d have paid more to add ginger and apple or beet to the carrot juice.(NO juice options with ginger, huh??) Why not a «make your own» option? The carrot blend I got is GOOD and healthy. But I really wanted my carrot beet ginger juice and you’d expect to be able to get that at a JUICEBAR. But as I said, the juice we got was good, fresh, and organic. And if there aren’t many juice places in Eugene, it’s great that this place is here.

I returned to New Odyssey after a long break, excited to get the juice again. I really liked the juice, but.. . Dude was operating with three used blenders and didn’t even give one a rinse before tossing my stuff in. He was(again) monologuing conspiracy-style(seriously, check him out. He seems factually correct until he starts using numbers. «Did you know 30,000 people died of.. .») I was kinda taken back and didn’t say anything. I mean, maybe the person before me had the exact same drink? F that, I don’t really care. It’s a business – clean it up before you use it again!

A hangover is just your body’s way of telling you it’s time for a smoothie. Nothing short of a saline drip(I imagine) lifts me from the depths of a night of session drinking Hamms(why, god?) like a Blueberry and Banana smoothie w/yogurt and apple juice. Get the 20oz, you sissy. It’s all organic. The food looks good, too. They’ve been in business at their current location in the blighted heart of Downtown Eugene since 2001, which frankly surprises the piss out of me.

I think it took me moving away from Eugene after five years of living there to try this place. On Saturday I tried a smoothie that was quite tasty: mango, papaya, apple juice and a shot of ginger. A 16 oz. cost $ 5.25 and that’s about right for what i got. Next time I’m in Eugene I’ll definitely be back for a 20 oz.

The BEST smoothies ever. I don’t think Jamba Juice or these other supposed smoothie places even make smoothies — just high calorie smoothie impersonators. New Odyssey is genuine fresh fruit smoothie goodness. They are totally good for you and taste AMAZING! My son and I come here once a week, and it is always a special treat!

I love this place! Best place in Eugene for a glass of freshly squeezed juice. I am so sorry that they aren’t able to sell their juices in super markets anymore! Everything needs to be super pasteurized, in order for it to be on the super market shelf. I love getting carrot/apple or carrot/orange with just a little bit of ginger juice. Amaaazing!

This place is awesome. A perfect restaurant to put in your weekly rotation for lunch, too, as the prices are scary-reasonable! Veggie sandwich? $ 4.95. The same in a burrito? How about $ 3.50?! And, it’s organic, bordering on the obsessively so. Simply put, this place is Eugene lunching at its finest. A must-stop.

Excellent juices and smoothies, particularly in the summer when they offer peach and other interesting combinations. The food is not very good, unfortunately, so we just come for the juice.

This place is all right. The food is good, but they had incense burning inside which killed it for me. I like incense, but not in a place where you want to eat! You should be able to smell the sweet aromas of the food, not patchouli. If I do go here again I will definitely eat it somewhere else. That said, the BLT sandwich was amazing. A little pricier than I’d hoped for, but the ingredients were fresh and it was a very healthy meal(with slices of fresh fruit on the side).
