Great value, especially for a small town. The Coconut Shrimp was awesome! The selection was large and most of the food was good. We arrived late and a few of the items had been held too long, Service was good; tea was excellent and we would eat there again.

Service– I was pleasantly surprised that the waiters and waitresses were Chinese and could speak mandarin to us. However, it made me uncomfortable when I was making my plate and someone who worked there started stirring all the dishes around me. Kinda strange. However, the service was pretty quick. Our water arrived quickly and our plates were cleared quickly. Ambiance-the first thing I see when I walk in is a little pond in the building, presumably for fish. However, the water was murky and smelled bad. The chairs are clean but mismatched and the booths are clean. Fr where I sat, the conditions were pretty good for a buffet of its kind. Food: I was disappointed that the selection was so small, and that there was no seafood. However, given the price I would have been shocked if we had gotten seafood. The usual fare was present: fried noodles and rice, broccoli beef, coconut shrimp, various meats, etc. What was present was well prepared. I was surprised by the Sautéed leafy greens. They are a kind familiar to Chinese people but I had never seen them before in buffets. It was very tender and flavorful if a tad oily. The sushi selection was almost nonexistent though. Only three types, with no seafood. The sushi is made of mock crab and fried chicken. Overall– the food is alright, considering the low price. The environment is good too. I just wish there was a bigger selection of food.

Unsatisfying and flavorless food. I’m disappointed that this place has the same rating as Oriental Buffet in Arcata since that buffet is at LEAST twice as good as this one.

I hate writing bad reviews because I feel like people think I just had a bad experience or I’m just picky. But that’s what Unilocal is for. My eastern Asian cuisine enjoyment stems from having close connections to Filipino and Mandarin friends of family back home in Sacramento and the best Chinese food I’ve ever had was in Tijuana, Mexico. Living in Eureka and experiencing the small variety of food has been a disappointment to say the least. But this buffet really just was… Scary? I mean you hear stories of dried out mystery meat swimming in oil, a few rock hard grease lined dumplings, and watch families of tired americans pick it out and continue to eat like this a totally normal or even sanitary thing to do. But I watched it happen. And its probably not the worst in America but the worst I’ve personally ever had. The taste isnt bad, its just not fresh. At all. Maybe if they cleaned more often and changed food more often it wouldn’t be so bad, but it’s just so unsanitary.

The food was greasy and just ok the place needs to be cleaned and they need to take some pride in their business. It’s a buffet. But the fish pond with dead fish in it when you enter and filthy carpets and bathrooms turned my stomach! The owner should be ASHAMED!

We drove from Seattle and stopped by this place for dinner. The foods were great, the variation was also good. The food ingredients were fresh and in good quality. I’ve had a lot of Chinese buffet and this is the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely go to this place again if I come back to Eureka in the future.

China Buffet usually has a nice selection of foods available for almost any taste. Keep in mind that this is a buffet and not fancy Chinese food. I enjoy bringing my children here as a special treat. Every once in a while they will be picked over and the selection will be poor so avoid slower times between lunch and dinner. Overall it is worth a try.

One word… noooooooo! Food was cold. I was there just after they opened so I expected hot fresh food. Perhaps I got what was leftover from last night. The soup was warm and had good flavor. Very unwelcoming staff. I had to use the bathroom before I sat down to eat. Big mistake. It was filthy and full of graffiti on the walls. A truly eureka class act.

Again, most unsanitary restaurant in Eureka.

Place is a little better now that they’re under new management but the meat is still chewy and you still feel like crap after eating it. Frozen potstickers and veggies. The buffet is better in Arcata but not by much. But if you’re craving greasy Chinese food(I admit at times I do) then it’s a good little spot to stuff your face at. Trust me though, you’ll pay for it later lol

Yuck. We went there for dinner and should have gone across the street to Sizzler instead, but my boys were insistent so in we went. Horrible food. The food has been sitting out there for so long that it’s so dried out. I think the only thing I really ate was the chow mien and the pot stickers. My son needed to use the restroom and we went into the ladies room. Oh my gosh. It was so dirty. Yuck again. If I ever come back to visit in the future, I will never come back here to eat; that’s for sure.

Good enough, especially for a couple of hungry hikers. What a convenient location, being across the street from Red Lion hotel. They have a good selection of food, and they seem to have a steady stream of diners.

I’d like to put in a good word for this oft-maligned spot,. While it is true that NO food improves sitting on a buffet, we ordered food for a party from their takeout menu(you have to ask for it) and the food arrived well-packeged and piping hot. Suggest you get two pans of potstickers, they go fast. They delivered right on time, too, and we will definitely use them again.

I stayed at Shoreline RV Park and walked here. No place to park the RV here, but you can walk here from Shoreline RV Park. Decent buffet, lots and lots of items. Lots of people eating there. So many people that I got seated at the end of a long table that had two people sitting at the other end. Never had that done before. Buffet price on Sunday was $ 9.99.

Among all the places I’ve gone to within Humboldt County, this is probably the one I frequented to the most. I remember a little plaque on the wall at the entrance of the restaurant after the little koi pond they have saying«best Chinese food …,» and I would say so, too. There are a couple other Chinese buffet within the County, but this by far was the best among them. Food is great; lots of selection location is right off of the 101, and there’s a lot of parking behind the restaurant building Décor — meh, i guess they could work on this one Service: nice and friendly. This is the safest choice to go to when dining out in Eureka(to my estimation) because you know you will get your money’s worth(and it is cheap), and there’s a lot of food to choose from, and they are of good quality.

Great Chinese Buffet at a VERY reasonable price($ 12.07 with soda). The buffet had a large variety of items(including crab legs, lobster rolls, sushi bar) and it tasted great. Servers were very warm and friendly. Would come back here in a heartbeat!!!

This place is right next to my hotel that night, and it was 13 dollars for all you can eat. Why not. I’m Chinese and I’ve been to my share of my Chinese buffets. They are all the same, including this one. Though, this build really plays up the Asian theme. That part threw me off though. Extra star for the cute waitress there.

Paid $ 13 when I was here with the tour. Their chow mein is most delicious one I’ve had at a buffet or anywhere.

Judging by the hit and miss reviews, it occurs to me that this place can seem wishy-washy. You ought to know though, the good days were the ones I hit and I don’t mind this place one bit. A bit of tarnished excellence, there’s an old poster that ranked this place in(the 6th annual at the time) the top 100 Chinese buffet restaurants. How can this place get such lackluster remarks? I won’t pay so much attention to ALL the reviews, most aren’t even seasoned Elite members. Try for yourself, you might thank me later. I’ll tell you what, the«Chinese» food part is legit. Honey chicken is where it’s at. New York pork chop? Yes please. I don’t see much New York in it, but it’s pretty darn good. Eat any and all on the Chinese section, I can definitely vouch for them. The hand rolled(for the lack of a better term) sushi however, I wouldn’t gravitate to. I’ve paid my share of visits and failed me every time. At $ 41 for 4 people? Gotta be kidding me… Have you been to this place? You can tell how good the food is when you see the customers, they’re pleasantly plump and seemingly pleased. I’m all business when I’m in a buffet, try all spare none… This ere’ masseters of mine sure got some serious PT today.
