I’ve been getting Brazilians for over a year and have been to many different salons. I bought a groupon for 3 Brazilians and couldn’t have been happier with my decision. Vicki is the best lady to do the job! I highly recommend her! My groupon deal is over and I will continue to see her!

Vicki used to do my eyebrows for several years, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to catch her, since her schedule is so restrictive. Sunny is now responsible for eyebrow waxes, but she is not as good. Sunny shortened my eyebrows without my permission. I don’t know why she removed so much hair from the outside corners of my eyes, and it looks really weird. I won’t be going back to Salon Lotus anymore. It really is too bad because I’ve been a customer for so many years.

I had a color and cut with Sunny this morning and I couldn’t be more pleased. The color looks vibrant and is exactly what I wanted. She then trimmed my hair and gave me a great blow dry. The folks here were friendly and laid back. I liked that a lot.

I have been seeing Karin at Salon Lotus for around seven years now, and she never lets me down. I go to her for haircuts every few months and Keratin treatments every six months. Karin does a great job on both, taking her time to get the Keratin done right. While I rarely have a problem, I know that if I do she’ll always make it right. The salon itself is professional and modern but laid back. I feel comfortable going in and knowing I’ll come out looking my best.

Five stars for Vicki, Salon Lotus’ resident esthetician. One of the best waxing experiences I’ve had and a complete bargain when purchasing the 3 wax offer groupon had online.
Vicki is pleasant, good at making conversation to distract you from what’s going on down there, thorough, and best of all, FAST. 15 – 20 minutes from start to finish after shaking her hand and saying hello. While I dread my monthly wax appointments, with Vicki, I know it will be over before I know it. Highly recommend!

I get Keratin treatments and blowouts here all the time. They do a great job for blowouts — the woman I get it from is a real perfectionist and my hair comes out smoother and shinier than any other blowout I have ever gotten — which is a feat trust me. Super good deals and discounts for Northwestern students. Super laid back atmosphere and the staff is really nice and friendly.

Best waxing experience I’ve ever had! Vicki is an angel. My brazilian was perfectly completed in 20 minutes. She is confident and professional, and not a moment was spared. She was totally prepared for the appointment and very timely. I love it.
The regular price is very good, but I was using a deal which lowered the price tremendously. I will be back many more times.

I came to try out the place with a groupon as well and I was pleasantly surprised. The esthetician, Vicki did a good job over all and made the service comfortable. The salon is located two doors from GNC and opposite Northface. It is easy to miss unless you look carefully though. I was in and out within 30 minutes so it was a good experience.

After a hiatus of three years, I came across Heather who is an esthetician in training at Salon Lotus and decided to come back and give this place a second try. Since she is new, she did take a while but I will admit that she was very thorough and pleasant. If you’re looking for a waxing place, call here — she’s currently offering discounted rates because she’s still in training but definitely set aside sufficient time.
I look forward to coming back to see Heather in the future especially since Salon Lotus is so close by.

Let me start by saying, I tried this salon on a whim after seeing a groupon special when I was in town for the holidays. I have been getting Brazilians for over 5 years, and have been going to the same aesthetician for 4 years back where I live.
$ 75 for 3 Brazilians is a great price, especially for the service received.
A. This salon was able to fit me in the same day I called.
B. Vicky, the main aesthetician, was pleasant, detail-​oriented, and cleanly. She provided tips on how to better take care of my skin, not trying to push aka sell salon products. In addition, there was minimal to no discomfort or pain during my waxing, which says a lot for a Brazilian!
I will be going back to this salon if I need another waxing while in Chicago. Reason for the 4 stars versus 5, this is not a full day spa with tea and coffee or a separate room to change.

Just had a great experience here with Karin. I have LONG dark hair and wanted ombré and a cut. After explaining I’m a color virgin and showing a picture, we got to work. The color wasn’t exactly what I envisioned but it’s GORGEOUS and I love it. Karin took lots of extra time to make sure everything was blended perfectly and had to do my tips twice to get them really blonde (and got me tea while we waited for the color to set), and the effort really paid off. It looks completely natural, despite the fact that nature could never recreate this on an Asian person. The cut, although fairly minimal, is also lovely. I usually end up tweaking my hair myself once I get home, but not this time. And from what I’ve read about ombré coloring, the price was pretty good too!

I have been going to Salon Lotus for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The haircut and color that I get here always looks perfect. I’ve had 4 stylists over the years and they have all been professional and delightful. I am currently seeing Christine, and she is great — energetic, attentive, and does a great job making my hair look just how I want it. I highly recommend this salon!

My natural hair color is dark brown. It had been a few months since I had been to the salon, and so my faded, drab color had grown out quite a bit. I used to have it dyed dark ash blonde, but had cut it and done back to brown due to damage. It had grown out about 6 inches, which was nice because that’s virgin hair, and I wanted to go light brown and knew the color would take very well to this part of my hair.
I told Christine multiple times that I wanted to go light brown to blend my darker natural color with the faded ends. Apparently she had her own plans for my hair, as I came out with a darker brown than my natural color all over my head, including the 6 inches of virgin hair that I was looking forward to taking advantage of.
What’s more, since I had not been to the salon in a while, I had a ton of split ends. I did let her know I wanted as little taken off as possible, and wanted just enough cut to get rid of the split ends, but I walked out with hardly an inch trimmed and about half the split ends still there.
I paid $ 120 to look like I belong in a grunge band. And that was with the 20%. Overpriced and I think Great Clips could have done a better job. Avoid. I am staring at my bank statement and I still can’t believe that such mediocre service cost me so much money. Do not let the 20% off entice you. Their services are so overpriced to begin with it doesn’t matter, you will still pay too much.

I went to Salon Lotus today for an eyebrow tint and wax. Diana did a great job — she listened to what I wanted done and she checked in with me during the appointment about the color and the shape of my brows. I thought the staff was great. It was good experience. I’ll be going back for sure.

This is for all you ladies who like to keep it bare down there.
The place that I normally go to just uses a honey wax that was starting to irritate my skin, so I hopped on the deal train to shake things up a bit. I found this gem as a Living Social deal – $ 25 for a Brazilian that’s normally $ 50. So glad that I took a chance.
The resident aesthetician, Vicki, is both adorable and very professional. She’s fast (yay!), and uses an incredibly gentle wax that did not leave me with my usual verrrrrry tender skin. It was one of the least painful waxes I’ve ever had. Vicki asked all the right questions (no hair, some hair, would you like the back done?) and at the end was sure to point out the oil and the baby wipes that I could use if I needed them.
I left a happy camper, with no hair, no residual wax and minimal tenderness. To make it even better, the receptionist had already done everything with Living Social, so all I needed to do was tip Vicki and be on my way.
Will definitely go here again.

I’ve been going to Salon Lotus for years, and it’s the only place I go to get my hair cut. While i’m sure I could find another great salon to cut my hair, I’ve had consistently wonderful haircuts at Salon Lotus over many years.
My previous stylist moved away, so last month I went to Karin. I loved what she did — it was subtle, sophisticated, and sexy, and she even curled it for me since I told her I was going on a date. The whole experience was lovely, and my haircut continues to look great over a month later.

The haircut: Christine cut my hair and she did the best job ever. I have thin fine hair but prefer for it to look big, full and wavy. She accomplished this better than any other stylist, ever. She accomplished exactly what I asked for. And, she was funny! (Am I the only person who wants the person cutting her hair to be nice or cool?)
The salon: The aura was clean and modern. For a place that sells bumble & bumble, they were incredibly down to earth and not super snotty. I appreciated this.
The receptionist: The gal that checked me in was neither nice nor unkind; she was just doing her job. The gal that checked me out must have been new and struggled at figuring things out. I don’t fault her for that. Seemed to me that someone should have still been by her side, explaining how things worked.
Overall? Awesome haircut, nice salon.

I phoned in a request for the most experienced stylist the day of my appointment (Karen) and brought in a picture to clearly illustrate the final hair style I wanted. I walked out finding a more experienced local stylist, who matched my desired haircut for the most part but could have enlivened my hair with more layers. Maybe next time I’ll find a stylist that has experience with Asian hair. They offer a 20% discount card for the second visit, free bang trims, and a 10% discount for NU students.

I had a Living Social deal for a kerastase treatment and blowout. My experience making an appointment was great and I was booked with George.
The vibe I got when I walked into the salon was weird — almost like I was wasting their time. George just seemed distant and barely consulted with me. We spent almost the entire treatment silent. Also, the salon was almost silent with a few other customers as well. George just seemed «done» with me. He walked away and I was almost unable to give him a tip. My hair looks great, but wouldn’t they want to woo a potential client? Something just seemed off.

I am so impressed by Salon Lotus. I recently moved out of Wicker Park to Rogers Park, and I missed my waxer at Reina dearly. I have been scouting livingsocial and groupon for brazilian deals in my new neighborhood, so I can say that I am used to being treated in a certain manner (not exactly positive) when attempting to make an appt. to redeem these coupons.
Not so here… I felt just as important as any customer. The receptionist was fantastic. Immediately offered me tea or water. My aesthician (sp?) was one of the best I have ever had to date. Her name is Vicki. She is super friendly and didn’t treat me like her 10^th Brazilian of the day. She made sure to do exactly what I wanted, and even helped get out some icky ingrowns. As far as pain– well, of course it’s going to hurt, but not horribly so. I have had MUCH more painful experiences. Clean sticks everytime… no residue wax left behind. Super professional.
I am ecstastic to have found my new regular brazilian gal. I will be back, and I encourage everyone to see Vicki :)
