Had the sushi a couple weeks after the Ramen. It was ok. I’d designate this spot as the nearby Ramen when I’m not feeling like driving to Seattle. Service could be better though.(Outside of J)

This place is a little forgettable. In fact, I ate there months ago and forgot to review it because nothing really struck me as special. May be one of(maybe THE) only ramen spots in Everett but I wish it stuck a little better.

We had to actually stop going for a while — just a short while. We were going at least twice a week for a time. The food is totally delicious and the staff is warm and friendly. Don’t miss the pork belly. And they do the most amazing chicken karagi(Hope I spelled that right.). The garnish that comes with this fried delicacy is every bit as good as the main attraction. We’re also a fan of the gyoza; lighter than most and delicious.

I love the sushi and the alertness of the server! I’ve never tried the ramen but my table mates thoroughly enjoyed theirs!

Happened to run into this place while driving around. Lemme just start off by saying that the service is phenomenal and the food Is pretty good. I usually get the shoyu tonkotsu ramen. The broth is nice and rich, the fatty pork is flavorful, and plentiful. The noodles are so so. They could have been a bit more flavorful as they didn’t suck up as much flavor from the delicious broth then I would have liked. Definitely a place to swing by if you’re in the mood for authentic ramen and are too lazy to go to Kizuki Ramen in Seattle or somewhere in Lynnwood. Tip: The appetizers are great, but it’s quality over quantity for sure.

I’ve waited until I have come here at least twice to leave a review. Both times I have ordered ramen. The ramen is pretty bland. I have gotten miso ramen and shoyu, two of the most popular ramen choices and wasn’t fond of the lack of flavor. Friendly service, the sushi is really good.

I ran across this place while waiting for my brother to get out of a job interview. Ordered veggie ramen(in pork broth). Veggies were roasted and crisp. The noodles weren’t soggy. Broth was great, with an even consistency. I am usually not a huge pork fan in general. In broth it can get kind of gamey and overly oily. Not here. Polite service. Cooks came out to talk since things were slow. I would definitely come here again.

I have been to this place several times now and each time the experience has been very good. The owner is very personable and always greets us with a smile and hello. We have taken several friends here and they have all enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back. I always get the ramen when I go but the sushi is just as good. I am a big fan of the escolar but I will encourage you to try his speciality sushi rolls. They are tasty as well. The décor is simple but modern and the wait staff is fairly attentive to your needs. The ramen takes a little time to prepare but it is well worth the wait. P. S. While you wait don’t forget to to try their appetizers. The prices are very reasonable and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good bowl of ramen.

I came here on a Sunday around 5ish after a friend had recommended this place saying it was comparable to Kukai in Seattle. As someone who obsesses over a good bowl of ramen, I was eager to try it out, especially in a city like Everett. We came in and although the servers were very sweet, they seemed to not know what to do with themselves. I’m assuming the restaurant had been picking up because the first lady greeted us and pointed us to the back to sit then walked away. We stood there awkwardly waiting for another lady to show us to a table. We sat down and had a look at the menu. The first thing that caught my attention was their poke on the appetizers and I knew that was a must-try. We both ordered the Garlic Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen and the poke. The poke came out and it was pretty good. It was flavorful and had a good balance of raw fish and vegetables. When our ramen came out, I was instantly surprised by the size of the bowl. It was a pretty hefty serving so I was excited to dive in. For having ordered a garlic tonkotsu, I was super disappointed by the flavor of the broth. It was very flat and bland and tasted almost watered down. When going to a ramen place, I almost expect the soup to be high in sodium content but this was very lacking and the exact opposite. There was a good amount of noodles in the soup but I found that it was too overcooked and more on the soggy side. The order did come with corn, pork, mushrooms, and chunks of garlic but I wished the garlic was chopped so I didn’t mistakenly bite into a big pieces. Since they also fry their pork, I thought it was pretty dry and hard to enjoy. I really wanted to like this place but there were a lot of things that were lacking and I probably won’t be back. They’re poke was good though!

Where do I begin??? Place was empty on Saturday for lunch, but give it the benefit of the doubt it’s still early. After getting our food I now know why it’s empty. We ordered a Dragon Roll which came with fish bones and a piece of hair and we also ordered dehydrated noodle in plain flavorless broth, but apparently they call it «Shio Ramen». Final Thoughts: Thanks but no thanks, I am good with Safeway Sushi and Top Ramen.

Delicious ramen in a good looking restaurant but in a weird location. Not as good as Kukai in Northgate/Bellevue but also much cheaper. Worth checking out when your near downtown Everett.

*This is only for lack of vegetarian options* Firstly, let me say that this place looks wonderful and I am thankful to have a place like this in Everett. Their meat options look as they should. It must be stated though that there is hardly any vegetarian food in Everett but Ramen and Japan have a long history with vegetarian diets so, I was disappointed to learn that there was none. I am hoping that me telling them via this platform that if they had veg options they would have hundreds of my dollars by now. I’m also hoping that if they get a veg option they don’t shove it to the bottom of the menu as a consolation prize like most restaurants. I wish J Ramen all the luck in the world and I hope I can participate.

This place is adorable! It’s very clean inside and inviting. The waitress’s were sweet and prompt with grabbing dishes and bringing water. The sushi was fresh and cold, and I would totally come back for more. The ramen was amazing and comforting. I will be back for sure :)

Since going to Japan and having sushi there I was really disappointed in fish quality and freshness around the greater Seattle area. J’s sushi is the best quality and freshest tasting I’ve had since being back home. The ramen is very close to how it is in Japan with Daniel’s personal touches and is priced very reasonable. Please do yourself a favor and make this a regular supplement to your dietary choice.

Yum! Couldn’t wait to try this new Sushi spot right by my office! I actually tried the Chicken teriyaki(looking for something a little higher in protein today) and their Salmon Teriyaki wasn’t available yet. OMG! So yummy and fast service! I got mine to go. I also got a co-worker a Cali roll and she said it was delish! Can’t wait to try some of their rolls :) Downtown Everett needed a sushi spot soooo bad. Thankful they are here! Note: It was white chicken meat on top of the most delicious bed of cabbage(sauteed with oil and spices). Flavors were perfect! I purchased the seaweed salad separately and just dumped it in with my chicken.

What a great new addition to Everett! Honestly to the Puget Sound area as I feel we are in dire need of more ramen everywhere. The service is great. Every week they have a new unique dessert. I’ve had two, loved them, and cannot WAIT to find out what the next deliciousness will be. Sushi is spot on! Fresh and tasty. You always know a good sushi place when you can see the fish they are using right at the counter, which is true here. The Ramen is to die for! Wonderful broth! I’ve tried several different ones but for now my favorite is the seafood with a big piece of salmon in it. So far since J Ramen has been open, we have eaten there twice for lunch, once for my birthday AND took my 77 year old father for his first experience with sashimi and ramen. Every single time a great experience. Please go!

Wow! I just visited Japan recently and have been aching for ramen. Well this was a great fix. I mean it’s no Japan but a really good place holder. A great option for the area for sure! The service was amazing.

This place is great! The service was super attentive, the place is clean, tons of parking options, the food is delicious and the prices were good. We ordered the potato croquettes with tonkatsu sauce to start and they were awesome. Maybe this is weird but it reminded me of eating a giant french fry with ketchup haha, super good. We both ordered the tonkatsu garlic Ramen and completely enjoyed it. The noodles were nice and chewy and the pork is fricking good! It’s slightly fried, so there’s a nice little crunch with it and full of flavor. The special dessert this week was a plum wine custard and holy moly, it was amazing! It had some sort of sweet sesame seed crumble crush on top too, so good. I’ll totally be back!

This is a new spot and their ramen is amazing. I got the tonkatsu ramen and the pork belly was crisped up to PERFECTION. They topped it with crispy garlic slivers and I had a hard time not licking the bowl. Do your self a favor and go. Today.

Went to this place on opening night, the food was spectacular and by far made up for the kinks they’re obviously still working on(card reader went down for a half hour and some of the food took a bit long). The hand made pork gyoza and a complimentary sushi appetizer was a great opener. However, best part hands down was the bowl of ramen. This thing was full of flavor and, while I won’t pretend to be a ramen expert, there were tons of different flavors and textures at work, all equally amazing; this definitely ain’t your standard cup-n-noodles! Servers were knowledgable and friendly, and the owner was fun to talk to and discuss the restaurant, the city, and his history with cooking. I’ll definitely be back!
