My friend and I stopped by for some BBQ and we were not disappointed Lew is a great guy and it was nice to chit chat with him. I had the mac’n cheese with BBQ chicken on top… Yummy!!! My friend had the pulled pork sliders with coleslaw and cornbread… Yummy again!!! Thanks Lew for the great lunch.

This place is ran by one man. He does it all so there shouldn’t be any surprises when the service is slow. Give him some slack. The BBQ sandwiches were good, my boyfriend and I ordered two different kinds to get more variety of his BBQ. The sauce was average, meat was tender, the smokey flavor was perfect. I’m guessing that if you’ve had a dried out sandwhich it was because the meat is cooked at a certain time of the morning and throughout the day *Buh bumm Baah!* it probably dries out. Go at a better time, maybe? As for the sides, they left more to be desired. Very plain, store bought most likely. Go for the sandwiches.

I’ve tried to come here twice, once he wasn’t open and this time he opened 45 min late. He has this crazy no trespassing sign outside which doesn’t seem inviting. He made no attempt to serve us or greet us. When he saw he said he’d open about 5 min later. Then he and his rat tail hairstyle walked off. Needless to say after seeing the other awful reviews we just left. If you want good bbq in Everett hit up Big Sticky’s in Marysville!

Not sure about the food because he never opened! Went by at 11:15 since we smelled the BBQ goodness. We got to the front door to an open door but locked screen door. We walked around back and even yelled in but no answer. We figured he was still prepping so I gave him a call. He answered he’d be open in about 15 minutes. So we decided to wait(supporting local businesses right?). Around 11:40, we go back and still no Lew. We sat out front to give him about 5 minutes but nothing. We walked to our car and saw a guy out back and he said«I’m the guy you’re looking for.» He then said he’d be open in about 5 minutes which probably meant 15 to 20. Not sure what the food tastes like buy based on other reviews, not worth the wait. I’m pretty generous when it comes to small local businesses especially BBQ but Lew doesn’t seem to care much about«customer service» or understand the«open» sign concept. My advice: go somewhere else

Came in and waited 5 minutes for Lew to come out from the back, he asks, «here or to go?» I said here and he pointed at a table and said sit. I said all I want is the lunch… and he says«Not now, I’ll get you in a bit.» 5 minutes later he asks over the counter what I want and then runs out. 10 minutes later I get my food, kinda lame for $ 9.95. Some okay brisket over sauced, beans from a can and a store bought bun. I could have gone to Union Gospel and at least donated $ 10 and ate better. Go to the counter, buzz the door bell, and wait another 5 minutes for him and he pokes his head out and I wave money at him and he says I’ll be right there. 5 minutes later I leave the cash on the counter and walk out. The other people in line do too. Over priced and the owner must be on crack, no really, he must be back there nursing a crack pipe and once in a while slapping some overcooked stale ass food on a paper plate. Oh, you have to eat the crap with the cheapest plastic forks made. Oh, you better like GOD if you are there, and the Lakers. All the walls are filled with thanks to them. That Lou is allowed to have sharp knives is proof the the mental health system in Snohomish County is non-existent. I’ll never be back, this was my second time, the first time there was a counter woman there and I had good service, if still over priced for the food. He must have run her off with his crazy.

We were at the hotel around the corner and wanted something different from the road trip food we had been eating. Lew’s BBQ came up and was close by. The is a true hole in the wall spot! There are about five tables, and interesting decorative touches. Loved the old electric train set. The smoker out front gives you an idea of what you will find inside. The aroma was amazing. I’d never had real BBQ before and was not disappointed! We had the Soul Food Sampler with ribs, a Thursday night special. Lew told us he had tried something different and smoked the Mac and cheese side that day. It was delicious… cheesy, smokey, gooey good! I’ve never had collard greens and they too were yummy. Corn bread and black eyed peas were also included and all homemade. Now the ribs, the ribs were fall off the bone perfect! Would I eat here again? Absolutely! Would I recommend it? You bet!

We moved to Lake Stevens over last summer, about 3 miles across the valley from Everett Wa. I have driven by Lew’s BBQ often, and today I decided to stop in to give the BBQ a try. The Beef brisket was very tasty and tender, bake beans were nice and smoky with a touch of sweetness. Although I am not a fan of collard greens, because my experience in the past was not pleasant due to them being slimy and over cooked. However, Lew had me try his greens and I found them to be tender and still a bit crisp with the carrots adding a sweet contrast to the flavor. I will be having collard green for sure the next time I go to enjoy this wonderful little BBQ place. Lew was very nice and soft spoken and I could tell by the very tasty food, he love his Bar-B-Que. The place is not fancy and kind of plain, but who cares about décor when the food is outstanding.

Went here for the first time after driving by several times. Not disappointed that I did. The brisket was very flavourful. His sauce is great. Potato salad and beans both on point, too. Cornbread slightly dry, but that’s what beans and extra sauce are for. Will return for sure.

My wife and I found Lew’s BBQ on accident on day and decieded to stop based solely on the amazing smell coming from the smokers. I ordered the brisket sandwich and my wife the pulled pork. The food was amazing! We loved it. Even met Lew himself. Very highly recommend stopping in and trying it yourself!

I agree with Jeremy. The owner acted really shady and weird, and overcharged me. I actually called when I got home and he confirmed that I was overcharged. His recommendation was that I should go back and he’d give me more food the next time. Over-priced regardless. Uncomfortable as well. BESTAVOIDED.

man people are hard to please. I thought this place was great. like others I was in town for work(which makes it REALLY hard on a restaurant owner as their livelihood depends on repeat customers) and needed something tasty and satisfying. I got the brisket sliders and collard greens which were OUTOFTHISWORLD. the owner is a bit standoffish but once I treated him with respect he warmed up to me. can’t say the same for the older couple who pulled off the freeway looking for food and were extremely impatient, following him all over to see what he was doing. give the man a break. I’d definitely return here if I’m back in Everett and hope he has good community support.

In town for work needed to go to Lowe’s, when I spotted the little house on the corner. Decided on the sampler to get a feel for the food. Heavy smoke notes on the food, you’ll be re-tasting all evening. Meats, beans all over sauced, no contrasting flavors. I get worried seeing over saucing, makes one think there’s something to hide.

Had the brisket sandwich. Was really looking forward to it as I could smell the smoker from my hotel. The meat was at the moment right before it gets dry and had no smoke flavor. The sauce on it was so-so. It came with one side and I chose the beans. They were right from the can… or at least that is the way it tasted. Big disappointment and I would not recommend it. It is also a one man show so plan on waiting if you go. Not worth the 10 bucks.

I love the hole in the wall atmosphere it screamed good BBQ from the moment I saw it I had the Brisket which was excellent you can tell it is cooked over wood and the potato salad was good I could really taste the pepper in it however it worked really well. My girlfriend had the Big Papa she seemed to really like it however found the raisins in the slaw to be a different touch. Lew himself was not the warmest of characters but I did not feel deterred, I would eat here again

BBQ flavor was okay… meat was fatty. Sides were awful! Mac n cheese was mushy, beans were bland, corn bread was super dry. Service was bad and the owner is arrogant and quite rude. Gave it 2 tries, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Terrible! Plus the second time we went there, we were grossly overcharged. We will not ever go back… it’s too bad, we really wanted to love this place!

Great BBQ! I went to Lew’s with my work team of 4 men who have high food standards and this place got overwhelmingly positive reviews from each one of them. The atmosphere is an old house with eclectic décor everywhere. Lew himself assisted us and delivered excellent customer service. You can tell be takes pride in his business and cares about the customers and their thoughts about the food he serves. Overall VERY good. Best BBQ from a restaurant that I’ve had!

I went with the soul platter while my husband did something like the ‘big boy.’ Basically I had ribs, black-eye peas, greens, mac and cheese, and cornbread. He had baked beans and a hot link/pulled pork thing. Lew(I’m assuming he’s Lew) — seems to do all the work at this place. He was extremely friendly, and the food came out quickly. We chose to take it to go because it was lovely out. Ribs were meaty, and the sauce was the kind I like — not too thick, and more vinegary than sweet. There were 3 on the platter. I thought the greens were very good — still a bit crisp, not stewed beyond all recognition and devoid of flavor. I liked that the black-eye peas were mixed with corn and tomato, which is not a way I’ve had them prepared before. It worked well. The mac and cheese wasn’t mind-blowing(it’s usually my favorite bbq side), but it was passable. Believe me, I’ve had bad mac and cheese and this wasn’t it. The corn bread didn’t really do anything for me, but again that’s something that can always be hit or miss. For my husband’s food, I’m not really a baked beans person, so I don’t have anything to say. He seemed to be pleased. I did try his hot link sammitch and was really impressed. I think it may have been the best hot link I’ve ever had. Usually they wind up being more like a polish sausage with a bit of heat. This link was a completely different texture with a really decent kick. The pulled pork topping with melted cheese was a nice touch. I think next time I’ll just have the link. Coming from the Midwest it’s good to know where the good encased meat is for when I need a fix — I think I’ve found my first go-to. As an aside, for those of you griping about the location being dirty — have any of you ever been to a real bbq joint before? This place was immaculate by comparison. Lighten up.
