Yum this place had great sushi, excellent service and nice atmosphere. Road was under construction in front of it.

I just don’t get it… Mortons is cheaper and you actually get good food. This place is a trendy place, so it survives on type. The food is average at best but is top dollar. The waits are crazy as well. Will not go here again.

My family and I had dinner here yesterday and the server had served our food to the wrong table that was in our line of sight, right next to ours. The other table had an older gentlemen that was coughing. The server realized her mistake and attempted to serve us with the food from the other table, thinking that we did not see what was going on. We refused the food. She had gone to her manager, which gave the okay to serve us the food from the wrong table. We refused again. Common sense! Do you think you would want food served to another table given to you? Who knows what they had done to it? It obviously couldn’t get through the minds of the server, nor the manager at this location. Do you think I want to endanger the health of my young family? We have been patronizing this Mikuni and many of the locations throughout Sacramento and had never had a situation like this before. We always had a positive experience, but I was forced to write this review in response.

Best sushi place we have in town! All the reviews speak for themselves! You can count on Mikuni to always deliver delicious & fresh sushi, great service & a cool atmosphere to hang out in! You can’t do wrong with their menu. Some of my favorite items are the Freaky Edamame, BBQ Tuna, and the Michi Roll! I order it every, single, time. And no, I don’t get tired of it. I don’t ever try new sushi places, because I get so disappointed, especially while traveling. I know where to find the best! Thanks for that Mikuni! Always a fan!

Absolutely the best sushi in Sacramento. Been here 4 – 5 times and it’s always delicious and great service. Must have the garlic edamame — nothing like it anywhere else I’ve been. All the rolls are good — don’t be afraid to try something new.

I’ve been coming to Mikuni’s since the late 1990’s, back when the only Mikuni was the one on Hazel. This remains my favorite sushi place! I no longer live in the Sacramento area, but every chance I get, I go to one of many locations to get fresh, quality, and unique sushi. I’ve loved everything I’ve ever eaten. Everything is so very delicious!

This place is really a find. Food tastes good and service was really fast. Will be back if I am in the area again.

This is still a respectable location, but has gone down hill somewhat. Little things add up and boy do they ever. There used to be time when edameme, miso soup, tea, rice all came free with an order, but not here. You pay for everything. Also in the past, the chefs, waitstaff, and reception station people were all Asian, but not always the case now. Kinda too bad.

Yummmmi-est freshest sushi in the area hands down! Food & selection of sushi is way above par. We always sit at the sushi bar, the chefs are GREAT! The will make you custom sushi if you’re feeling a little adventurous but if you stick to anything on the menu you’ll never be disappointed.

I really enjoyed the train wreak sushi roll. The server was very friendly and frequently checked on us. I had the chocolate mousse and it was so good.

I have heard people rave about Mikuni for several years but really didn’t give it much thought. We decided to try them out for lunch and see what all the fuss was about. Originally I thought there was only 1 location DT but apparently they have become so popular there are now multiple locations across the city. We arrived around noon to find the place packed, which was surprising for a Sunday. A small 15 minute wait wasn’t too bad and before I knew it we were seated. The menu is extremely large so it took us awhile to decide on the rolls. Eventually the little one went with the kids menu, older one ordered the lucky 7 nigiri combo, she just had to copy me :). My gf ordered the soft crab roll and a spider roll. But to start things off we had the BBQ albacore tuna as an appetizer. 3 pieces lightly grilled with two amazing sauces. Everything we ordered on the menu was fantastic and worth the wait, price, even the freezing cold air conditioning that was blasting. My favorite was the sake sampler, 4 different sakes for only $ 10. Mikuni is now my new favorite sushi place in the Sac area, cannot wait to come back!

Mikuni is our absolute favorite sushi place in the Sacramento area. They prepare the best rolls, have the best ambience, and best service of all sushi restaurants in the area. The miso soup is always tasty as well as the spicy etimamae. Every role I’ve had is good from the 49er roll to the Japanese mafia role they are all prepared perfectly and no one ingredient overwhelms the other. Vegetarian rolls are tasty as well.

This was one of the first restaurants my husband and I went to after moving to NorCal 1 year ago. We only went the 1 time, but I have been raving about it to anyone who will listen since then. The service was phenomenal. Very attentive wait staff. Food was excellent– great flavors and textures. Alcoholic beverages– $ 18 summer time mojito pitchers are to die for! As soon as this summer special comes back I am definitely going to budget for the month so we can return! Woohoo Mikunis :)

I’m not really the best person to rate a sushi place – you know, since I’m vegetarian and I have a deep seated hatred of all things fishy. What I order: — Tempura — Veg Ten Roll with soy wrapper(add Fair Oaks sauce) — Freaky Edamame Pros: — Restaurant is huge. Lots of seating. — Semi-private seating area — Tshirts available for the avid Mikunis fans — Consistent. Your experiences here rarely vary. — Friendly, prompt service. Cons: — If you have a group, reserve a table ahead of time. This place is always busy. — PARKING.

I usually only come here when we have a work outing, but the food is really good! I usually get the rainbow roll and always found the fish fresh and good! I’ve also had their chirashi bowl(I don’t believe it’s called that on the menu, but that’s the general name for the dish) which is just sashimi on top of rice. Also really good! Will definitely be coming here on more team lunches!

I love this spot! Went in for a late lunch and it wasn’t crowded which I love. Didn’t have to wait too long, we were there around 2. Our server was John, he’s very friendly :). I got a bento box with veggie tempura and chicken teriyaki listed under the lunch specials. This is the original location! I love going here but I rarely come to this location, haha but since I was in the area I went here!

I really like this sushi restaurant!!! I usually go at off times, so that there isn’t s big crowd of people. This time I ordered the chef’s combo, which came w/10 different pieces of sushi… all were fresh & delicious w/the perfect amount of rice! As always we ordered pan fried gyoza, which personally, I think Mikuni makes some of the best! I usually order the nigiri… All of the different types I’ve ordered are fresh & bursting w/flavor. Not once have I encountered a problem w/slimy or over powering fishiness(which can be a sign of the fish going bad). The staff is friendly & always greets us(the whole staff) when we are being sat :) my waitress made sure our drinks were full & was coming by regularly to check on how we were doing. All in all, a great lunch or dinner spot!
