We come here at least once a year amd plan our entire vacation around Samurai Sushi. Seriously, it is the best place for sushi and sashimi. We love the tuna tataki, the oyster shooters, and the forever samurai. It is all so delish. And this visit, our waiter, Justin, was AMAZING.

WORSTSERVICEEVER. I called earlier today to specifically ask if happy hour online prices were for dine in only or could be for to go orders as well. I rarely go to happy hour anywhere so I wanted to check. A guy answered and informed me the prices could be for to go, so I decided to go there on my lunch which is later in the day because I work a late thift this month. I called to place my order as I was getting closer to the restaurant and a lady answered this time and said that I couldn’t order it to go for happy hour. I informed her that I was told earlier that I could order to go from the online happy hour menu. She proceeded to tell me that was incorrect and the guy gave me wrong info. I told her that I didn’t have time to dine in because I was only on lunch and I had to be back to work. She said I could order from the regular menu. I thought that was very unfair seeing that I did not have a budget for full price which is why I called earlier that day and I didn’t have time to stop other than maybe a fast food drive thru. I asked for the manager and a woman with an accent came on the line. I informed her of the information I was provided and she kept cutting me off and talking over me saying that he gave wrong info and I could order regular. I finally told her to stop cutting me off and listen to what I had to say. She not once offered to give any sort of compensation which wouldn’t have bothered me if she handled the situation differently! She did not say anything about making sure the guy who gave me wrong information would be coached or anything. She basically had a too bad so sad attitude. I asked if she had anyone above her or if she reported to anyone else to discuss how the situation was handled. She insisted that she was the owner and no one was above her and she finally indicated that I could order from to go with the happy hour prices but at that point I no longer wanted to give the business any money so I refused. I proceeded to ask for her name and she asked why I needed her name. I told her I wanted to write a review on the business and she said she doesn’t have to give her name and said she’s done talking to me and hung up. I called back to ask for her name and no one answered. This was the WORST customer service I’ve experienced.

What a friendly staff! I talked at the bar with a blonde left lady. She helped me pick out some good sushi rolls but I ended up getting the samurai spaghetti filled with sea food. She told me a few areas to check out since I’m moving out here. Just a great personality for this place. And food? Great price and good!

This restaurant is properly rated. The food is 3 to 4 stars it can sometimes be a bit off depending on the chef or time of day, but it is generally a good value overall. This is very much a full service restaurant, good cocktails, beer and wine. The Sushi rolls have lots of variety. My family consistently gets the C-Webb, the Patrick, the Tuna Bomb, Y2K. It is good for kids, first timers, seniors, big parties, and is not overly trendy or pretentious. We always get excellent service here, especially from Justin, who’s been serving customers at Samurai for a good long while. For large groups, a go to place. Along with Mikuni of course, which rates higher on the fish quality scale. Most restaurants don’t last more than a few years, Samurai is practically a Hwy 50 institution.

I love Love LOVE Samurai Sushi! I have been coming here for six years. After moving to and living in virtually every corner of Sacramento, Samurai is still my go-to(I used to eat at Mikuni’s, but not anymore!). The happy hour is phenomenal, and the sushi rolls are SOFRESH. My absolute favorites are the Folsom Roll, Peter Special, and the Sake Sashimi. I always eat at the sushi bar because the sushi chefs are so cool, especially Gamba and Jun. The beers are always cold and the service always comes with a smile.

I’ve never had a bad time here. The food is pretty good, the service is attentive enough, the atmosphere is pretty cool. I can’t really put my finger on why this isn’t a 5 star kind of place, it just lacks something, maybe a certain livelihood, it’s hard to explain. The sushi is always spot on, maybe I’m just a little miffed that it’s sort of in the middle of nowhere. They have several large tv’s going, the staff is friendly, I’ve never had a bad roll here. Go for yourself, I’m probably just being too picky, it’s easily worth your money, but not the best game in town if you’re trying to get some sushi.

Get the Chef Special!!! I cannot recommend that enough. It’s a huge roll filled with delicious goodies. The 49’er is also great because of the zing of lemon. They have a full bar with great beers on tap. The food is consistently delicious, place is always clean, prices are decent and atmosphere is comfortable. This is a great little favorite spot of mine.

First time @ Samurai Sushi tonight. It can be best described as a Sushi Sports Bar! Pretty cool idea. The décor is very buffalo wild wings-esque… Tvs, full bar and sports/sports fan everywhere. Of course I had to have the sushi. There are several sushi options for those that are real sushi fans but for me, I go with old faithful shrimp tempura. Cool place!

Service by June was the best service I’ve ever had in all my years of eating out. Quick stop in our way to Tahoe and we happened to stop here. Appetizers are good portions. The sushi was ok. But what blew me away was June’s service! Hands down the best

Stopped in after being on vacation for a week because we knew we would get a great meal! My kids love the ninja roll with a soy wrap, I like the C. Webb and my husband gets either the highway 50 or Gamba’s special. We have been coming to Samuari for 13 years and love the freshness and consistency, as well as the price. We are always greeted with smiles and they welcome us by name. They make awesome orange edible creations(art) for the kids to enjoy and have warm wipes the clean hands before meals. They also have chopstick helpers for kids(or adults). Samuari has a bar if you’d like to stop in for a cocktail, a large sushi bar to watch creations being made and lots of booths and tables. They have a lot of big screen TV’s you can watch sports games on– a big plus for my SF Giants loving family!

This place is always great. Sit at the sushi bar if there is a seat open. Order the 5 star roll or the lion king. The jimmy special is good too. If you can’t decide, just tell one of the sushi chefs to make you a «special roll of there choice» you won’t be disappointed.

Purchased a groupon for Samurai Sushi; all in all a tasty meal. I ordered a sake maki and a scallop hand roll. Boyfriend ordered the Patrick roll, we were both satisfied with our choices. He was especially excited about the special sauce that came on the side of his roll. They only reason why I gave 3 stars was because my boyfriends tea cup had a smudge of lipstick on it; not pleasant. Other then that the service was good and we would come back.

Friendly staff, tasty food, high prices. Poke salad, 1 pint, 6 piece nigiri, tax and tip= $ 50 Poke salad was a little heavy on sesame oil, but good none the less

Mikuni’s downtown yesterday for lunch. Wasabi in Folsom for dinner last night. Samurai for lunch today. Results: #1 Wasabi in Folsom: Best product, service and price. Food served fresh & fast, drinks always full. #2 Samurai: Food was least impressive, price slightly less $. Staff was friendly, but either understaffed or not as interested. #3 Mikuni: Not bad, but the bar was set high with all the hype. They were on par with everyone else, but I wouldn’t drive passed any other place to get back there

The thing about this place is that it is workman-like. These folks know their niche and fill it nicely. Service is a bit slow and spotty. We’ve taken to asking for the check, at lunch, as soon as we’ve finished ordering so we can have a change of getting the check in anything under 20 minutes.(You’d think folks would like to be paid!) The sushi is ok but not spectacular. My wife, the real sushi lover, thinks its because there are too many items on the menu. You can be great with a moderate number of menu items but not will a menu the size of a small encyclopedia. The non-sushi items from the kitchen are okay too. The soup broth for the Udon was just plain insipid. No real taste although the ingredients placed in the soup were good. I also like chili paste with my Udon and they can’t seem to find anything but sriracha. Don’t get me wrong I like it but not with soup. SS is a place I will continue to patronize because they are convenient and honest about the place but there are many things that could be easily fixed. Also be prepared, the parking lot is rather small for the number of seats in the restaurant. We always scramble for parking at lunch.

This restaurant has been open for so long. I remember going here over 10 years ago with all my siblings. This was open before all the other sushi restaurants opened in the Sacramento and Folsom county. I really enjoy their samurai spaghetti, it has udon noodles, scallops, prawns, and mussels covered in a creamy sweet sauce. Definitely one of my favorite dinner entrees. As for sushi rolls my old favorite as a kid was the Hole in One because I love cream cheese in my sushi rolls. Lion king roll is a great roll for kids because it is a roll that is completely cooked and my little cousins really enjoy it. Another great roll is the Folsom roll which has a lemon slice on top giving it a fresh twist. Five star and titanic are another favorite. If you are feeling adventurous, the tender rose is another great sashimi dish to try. The service here is so-so. You sometimes have to flag down the workers if you need something but they do get waters out quickly and the food usually comes out within 10 – 15 mins during lunch hours.

This place is wild, far from mild, I had a nice smile on my face leaving this place. I love the great crisp Sapporo beer. The shooters are great too. She let us sample the beers they had here too. That was really cool of them. They have a cool wheel to spin for your bday. I“d definitely say this is a great place for groups. There’s a lot of room here and the temperature is just right. I love the ambiance and the décor. Great overhead music in here, I heard some really rare songs I haven’t heard in a long time. I love the sushi here. They have the 49er roll which is great because I am a niner fan and I am from the sf bay area. The customer service is great so tip good they deserve it. I used that groupon. I am glad I did so now I know how great this place is. This place is connected to a motel so if you eat soo much that it makes you tired don’t worry you can take a nap here.

We came here for dinner and waited to be seated for more than five minutes. Two workers saw us and didn’t acknowledged us at all. Instead of walking away, we stayed coz we have the Groupon lol. Finally someone came and sat us. Server came and she was very nice. We ordered our food and it was very good and tasty. Server was very attentive and keeps checking our table which is plus. If I’m in the area, I’ll come back again and hopefully next time better experience in the waiting area.

Would say this place is Average… Started out with the salad, miso soup and garlic edamame. The souls wasn’t hot, the salad had watery dressing, and the garlic edamame seemed undercooked. I had the beef sukiyaki and tempura and it was okay! The beef was dry and over cooked in the broth… The tempura was okay, nothing special. My lady ordered the beef udon and she did not like it and said it was blend… The beef was dry and tough! We ordered a titanic roll and again, it was so so! We would only return if we were getting treated!
