We just stopped by for a snack and pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious home cooked style. We had carnitas tacos and cevechi, both dishes highly recommend. We will return, thanks!

Horrible carne asada and relleno plate. Both dry and flavorless. Carne had no flavor, was 1⁄16th inch thin and dry like jerkey … Relleno was oveclooked, had no sauce. Service was so so on an Saturday afternoon lunchtime with few customers. Condiment bottles crusted with dry remains of contents and or tips broken off. Wobbly dirty table.

I am here almost every weekend for a menudo con grano sin pata, or a pozole. The torta ahogada is pretty tasty, as well. They have all the fresh juices and raspados and I’m totally ok with that:) If you order white people mexican food, you will probably be disappointed… unless you cover it in their fresh made habanero salsa. Ask for it… it’s amazing:)

I had the fresh fruit with chile & lime– it was so delicious! The little one had escamochas with strawberries, banana & cream & although she’s an extremely picky eater– she loved it! Our intention was to not really eat anything but to just grab drinks. We sat and watched the various delicious looking and savory smelling plates pass us by– we will definitely be coming back to try an actual meal.

I absolutely love this place! From the staff, to the food, to the whole in the wall feel. which makes it ideal to just pop in! It’s not the hugest place nor the best looking, but you get greeted right as you walk in the door & their food is made right in front of you. Especially when they chop up the fruit on the side, you see everything is freshly made. My recommendations? The fresas con crema, pico de Gallo or if you’re hungry for real food the tortas are pretty good!

Just to make this somewhat fair, the food here is gross. I’ve never had a bad quesadilla before, but the chicken quesadilla was super plain and mushy, like it was dumped into water before serving. I couldn’t finish it. The chips are also stale and taste like they just opened a bag of the cheapest chips you can find in the store and served those. The bigger issue here is that someone here very possibly stole my mom’s debit card information and attempted to charge big purchases at Macy’s, right down the road. The bank called before the purchases went through. My mom is positive this was the place that did it, not just because of the proximity of the location to the attempted purchases(Macy’s is less than 2 miles away at the mall), but because she hadn’t used that card in months. The attempted charges happened the next day. So, if you choose to eat here, bring cash.

So pissed. I ordered the chicken nachos and I expected grill chicken not shredded chicken with some type of nasty sauce. Never again!

It’s a fantastic place to come and have some tortas! The employees are extremely nice and the food is great ! I frequent this place with my parents and it’s never been a bad experience. One of the best Mexican restaurants in town !

They have an excelent selection of mexican antojitos. It is the best torta ahogada I have had this side of the Rio Grand. My family is from Guadalajara and this one is as close as it comes to the real deal. Their prices are fair and the service is moderate. Yes, the service could use some improving but, is a self operated taqueria so not everything can be perfect. Besides the tortas ahogadas the milanesas are always on point. Make sure to try an horchata water to cooll yourself off from the heat from the tortas!

There’s not alot of good mexican food places around here… each one has its plate thats good but non have an awesome must eat everything off their menu good… Guadalajara has real good tacos al pastor and tortas… the taco meat for the pastor is seasoned just right. Its juicy and the righr spicy kick(not spicy at all just has good spices flavors) the tacos are small size but they are good. The tortas are good too… the meat is always nice and tender. I usually call in my order and I still have to wait 10 more mins after I get here. If i want tacos al pastor or a torta ill come here.

The food was great. The lady was super nice. They are clean and had my order correct. Not much more to ask for. I will be back to try more from the menu.

This is the only Mexican restaurant I’ve tried in Fairfield, so I don’t have much to compare it to. Parking: Street parking available right in front, there is also a lot right behind the shop if street parking is limited. Ambiance: Came in a few minutes after they opened, so we were pretty much the first ones. It got busy during our dining experience, but not crowded by any means. Food: I had two shrimp tacos with everything and my friend had four carne asada tacos with everything as well. The pieces of shrimp were very tiny and not full pieces of shrimp, I think they were chopped up pieces of shrimp. It lacked flavor and was on the drier side. The taco meat was similar, it had more flavor, but definitely lacking marinade. I thought it was pretty dry as well. The only upside was the fact that our food was not ridiculously oily, but maybe if it had been, it would have tasted a bit better. I didn’t like any of the salsas they brought to our table. All three were too salty and too watery and the basket of chips was small. I ordered a large bionico, which is essentially the mexican fruit salad. I paid $ 7.00 for my large and thought it would be enough to share between two people, but I was wrong. It was good, but the fruit wasn’t as sweet as I hoped it would be and the portion was not as big either. I had a bionico the day before this and I paid half the price for the same size. The best part of it was the crema(cream), it was pretty freaking amazing! Overall: This place is authentic, but the food lacks flavor. The dessert was pricey for the portion they gave me. I would come back and try other items on the menu, just to give them another chance.

Mexican little shop in the downtown of Fairfield. We were standing to look at the big menu that was hung up, and the guy insisted we take a seat and gave us each individual menus which was nice of him. We were hungry for snacks, and that’s exactly what we got! I ordered a cup of cut cucumber & jicama drowned in chamoy sauce as well as lemon juice and topped with salt. Can you say YUM? I was a little disappointed they did not have mangonadas on the menu, but everything else sounded good.

MYMOUTHISONFIRE! I think there’s a good reason why the sauces are in bottles instead of them being served on the top of the tacos immediately. The red sauce in the bottle reminds me of any other sauce that the other Mexican restaurants put on top of their tacos.(Pictures of sauce bottles posted bellow) If you want to be more daring with the level of spiciness, I recommend the brown sauce. I felt my eyes watering and sinuses clearing up after the first bite. I couldn’t handle it that drank all of my water when I was done. Overall, the tacos taste great with or without the sauce. The al pastor and carne asada meat is a lot juicier and moist compared to other Mexican restaurants in Fairfield. There was also a fair amount of cilantro and onions on top of the tacos. The only thing that didn’t deliver was the chips and salsa. I feel Alejandro’s Taqueria across the street makes better salsa because it tastes more fresh and authentic. On the other hand, I LOVE the customer service and atmosphere of Guadalajara Fruit Bar. The ladies serving me were friendly and attentive. They made sure I left their restaurant happy. Also, the atmosphere is very clean, welcoming, and homey. I felt like I stepped into someone’s abuela’s home because the aroma of Mexican food filled the room while Spanish soap operas were playing on the television. Will I be back? Sure, why not. I’ll remember to avoid the brown sauce and try one of their fruit smoothies next time. :)

I used to know nothing about Fairfield, except for the Jelly Belly factory, but now I know of this gem of a Mexican eatery in a town that just doesn’t seem too exciting. The salsa is soooo good here! The tacos are authentic, the caldos are just like what I imagine a Mexican grandma would cook up. This place reminds me of the taquerias in LA where authentic, unpretentious delicious food is served. I also love the fruit bar– Mexican style. I got the ‘diabolic’ slushy– tamarindo slushy with chili pepper mixed in. Soooo good. Call me crazy– but I might actually drive an hour to Fairfield, just to dine here!

This place deserves very much to be recognized as one of the best restaurants in Fairfield, perhaps even Solano County. Food quality’s excellent, service is superb, atmosphere’s calm and relaxed, and people are generally happy to be here and let their hair down for a little bit. One thing I regret(which I hope to do before I leave out of here) is I haven’t had their fruit cups yet. I have full faith that it’s going to be very refreshing. However, I’ve had their enchilada plate, fajitas, and tortas, and everything was above standard. The food on the plate is the perfect amount, the prices reasonable, and the service perfect(if it could ever be). I recommend everyone in the area to definitely try this place out.

Where else can you get a fruit escamocha? They have authentic tortas and the usual Mexican fare as well, all good and all cheap!!! Owner operated and very friendly. The food is fresh and clean.
