I was excited to try a new place especially Mexican. Unfortunately, my tastebuds were very disappointed. I should have taken the clue from other reviewers that it was a chipotle knockoff. Chipotle tastes better! I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It was flat very bland tasting. Everything needs seasoning. Salt and pepper ever hear of it? Try it it will make your food taste better!!! Inside was too green, has anyone even seen a Mesa? Reds and Browns and desert tones would have helped the Incredible Hulk paint. Sorry won’t be back.

One of my new favorite spots! It’s kind of like a Chipotle or Moe’s but way better. They make all of their ingredients fresh every day and you can definitely tell. I’ve tried a lot off the menu including their margaritas and chocolate flans and have not been disappointed. The price is also very fair. Service has also always been very good. I absolutely recommend this place and have brought my friends to try this new place.

folks, this is the only review worth reeding becuase i wont be compairing mesa grande to chipotlay or moes. insted, ill be compairing it to subway do to striking similaritys between the too. first off, i want to say the restarant is a little boring to look at. i mean, it looks like a cgi studio with pictures of mexecan restarants. but on too the food. much like subway, mesa grande is loaded with lots of opshins to chose from wich is great imo. i luv the nachoes and quality. i am dissappointed at how they had to call there chicken rice, yellow rice. it really offendid me bc i am asian. i have to say tho, dispite all the opshins here, i found the food too be a little underwelming. not saying its bad, but not super impressd, sort have like subway, imo. pros: opshins, good price, satisfying. cons: racist rice, ugly walls. cunclusion: bring your mexacan friends here to impress them

Try the nachos! Love them! They are made with authentic chips(fried corn tortilla). Chocolate flan is also good plus they have margaritas!

I thought I loved Chipotle and Moe’s. I was wrong. This new place blows them out of the water. I love Mexican and I frequent Mexican restaurants and places such as Chipotle and Moe’s for something quick but that isn’t a drive thru. I hope this place lasts in Perinton Plaza as the plaza itself has been dying down slowly for years now. The prices are reasonable and yes, they are«just like the others» but only in the sense of it’s the same style of eating(buffet style line, fast casual). Mesa Grande offers yellow rice and pulled chicken which is the first difference I noticed. I have not seen those any place else! It was quick, fresh and well worth it! Go Mesa Grande!

I am a self proclaimed Chipotle-aholic, and I have found an equal… If not better at MG! Only exactly like Chipotle, same cafeteria like ordering, nice casual atmosphere. GREAT spices, delicious burrito bowl— also can add cilantro and chopped jalapeño ! The best part– dessert!!! Try the homemade flan and the Tres Leche cake! Delicioso!

So I’ve eaten at Mesa Grande a couple of times now, usually going for the chicken options, and I am just not feeling it. I can applaud them for being eco-friendly and not using throwaway utensils but that’s probably the only positive thing I have to say about it. I’ve had a burrito and burrito bowl and they are skimp with the filling from everything from the beans to the protein to the cheese. Worse yet, every time I’ve gone the chicken breast or pulled chicken has been dry and stringy, and the sauces that coated them have tasted extremely watered down adding a significant, unappetizing amount of wetness to everything. Their prices are honestly comparable to the nationwide fast food chains with a very similar menu, but if I had to pick between one or the other, I would choose fast food over this any day. They say their ingredients are fresh daily, but on all of my visits, everything’s tasted like it was a day old, or had been sitting on the heat all day without being monitored for freshness. A huge thumb down for me. If you want Mexican on this side of town, just go to Penfield instead where you’ll actually find something worth savoring! That or the Eastview Mall’s food court for something just as fast, but infinitely better.

Very similar to chipotle, but with a twist. Loved their shredded chicken… Great smoked flavor. My husband did a steak rice bowl… while we thought the chicken was better than chipotle, chipotle wins out for the steak. Kids loved their cheese quesadilla. Food was super fresh.

Food very fresh… Portions are very generous… The servers let you try a particular item if you are not sure if you will like it or not… Prices very comparable with other fast food Mexican… Great for take out… Highly recommend it if you like Mexican! Oh — there are many items that are not spicy if you don’t like or can’t eat spicy food…

I was expecting like Moe’s or Chipotle but this was so much better and the margaritas were amazing lol the meat here is higher quality than both Moe’s and chipotle

Mesa Grande was one of my favorite restaurants in Auburn and I was pleased we have one in Fairport too! Went to the Fairport location a few weeks back and got the carnitas tacos and they were great! The portion size was perfect and the food was fresh. My husband and I now make a trip on a regular basis to get dinner.

This place is a solid choice for your standard Mexican fare. Their offering is very similar to other big names, with your carnitas, carne asada, barbacoa, etc. They have fresh additions like cilantro, jalepenos, and limes that you can add on free of charge. If you’re feeling like trying something new, go for the nachos. It’s essentially burrito bowl over a side of chips. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is great, I love the way they decorated, I love the service, I love the food. I had a pulled chicken burrito and it was amazing. Best burrito I’ve had. I think it is cool that they also sell alcoholic beverages. I hope this place is successful Bc I can’t wait to return many more times in the future.

Food was fresh and tasty. Similar pricing than Chipotle but better overall value due to portion size. I regularly go to moes and the flavor here was better. $ 3.50 for a Mexican beer and $ 5 margaritas(have to try next time). We’ll be back.

Dropped by Mesa Grande and had a great meal. Ordered a chicken, steak and carnitas hard shell tacos(they let you mix it up!) with chips and guacamole — absolutely delicious. The toppings were all very fresh and the meats were cooked to perfection. Give it a shot — you won’t be disappointed.

So not impressed with this place. Vegans, avoid. The yellow rice is made with chicken stock and if you don’t like cilantro, the vegetarian rice isn’t for you. You have to pay a dollar for a glass of tap water, and chips/salsa don’t come free(and No free refills!) The food was good, however, especially the wine slushie. The place is clean and bright, and they’re big on recycling. The food is what brings it to three stars and not two. Expensive and not worth a trip, though.

Very similar setup, vibe and options to Chipotle. The food was good and tasted fresh although I thought they were a bit overpriced for what you get. All in all it made for a good lunch place.

So we were super excited to hear that some form of Mexican food was coming to Fairport. So on one of the first days they were open, we went for dinner. Décor-looks like a Chopolte down to the trays, garbage cans, and seating. Not impressed! Be your own brand. Menu– A Chipolte knock off with the addition of nachos. The difference here was portion size. At Chipolte I can get two meals out of a burrito or burrito bowl. Not the case here. My burrito bowl was sad looking and didn’t satisfy me for one meal, let alone two. My husbands burrito was the same and in his words«flavorless.» I second his thoughts. Our son got the kids nachos. The chips barely covered the bottom of the dish they put them in. They were $ 4.75. Not a deal when the adult version would have been a much bigger portion for a few $$ more. Our son liked the nachos but left still hungry since there weren’t many. Price– about $ 5 more than Chipolte. Not great given the portion sizes. We really hope that this is the new restaurant growing pains working themselves out. We really love the convenience of it being close and want another successful small business to call Fairport Holme.

Tried this place today for the grand opening. I have to say I was extremely impressed! Walking in I thought it would be just another Mexican fast food joint, I was wrong. The atmosphere, style, and seating is very well made with a refreshing feel. There is a great variety on the menu with lots to choose from. The service was great and everyone had a smile. The set up is exactly the same as Chipotle’s with the same great tasting food! The food was very good which I was also surprised with. I thought it would be some knock off cheap version of Chipotle and yet again, I was wrong. The pricing was very affordable as well for the food portion size. I’m so glad a burrito restaurant has finally made it into the Fairport/Perinton region. I will definitely be stopping by again! Make sure to check them out if you’re in the area!
