Portuguese soup, shrimp Mozambique, and cacoila for apps. All were very good. Soup was very tasty and stocked. Beef strips and shrimp dish was excellent. Cod fish special was really good. Service was great. Joe was a walking historian on Portuguese heritage.

Decent traditional Portuguese food a bit pricy with mellow ambiance. The staff is attentive and the food hits your table pretty fast and is far less bland than a lot of similar restaurants in the area. If I had one criticism it be that the bread on the table could have been fresher.

First time trying it today. Was very impressed. I was skeptical at first but boy was I wrong. Probably the best Carne Alentejana(Pork & Littlenecks) in the city. Reasonable prices, huge portions. Shrimp Mozambique was awesome. Very light, not too overpowering. Both the Carne Alentejana & Shrimp Mozambique cooked absolutely perfect couldn’t get any better. Will definitely be returning here.

Went last night for the first time, lots of locals have recommended it, the seafood rice was crazy good and the haddock was delicious. The waitstaff was very attentive and we couldn’t get over how reasonably priced the food was. Can’t wait to go back

I’m Portuguese, so I know what the food should taste. This place hasn’t been around for decades because it serves bad food. It’s been around that long because they serve very good food at a reasonable price. I’m not an octopus fan, but everybody that has had the octopus here love it. The BEST in Fall River. Their steak is like every other in town. That’s because the Portuguese tend to over cook their meat. But still good flavor. I tend to go with chicken, seafood or pork. My last meal was pork á corisco. It was awesome. Great food and very reasonable prices are a winner for me!

Ok, This Restaurant Is Not Bad For American Portuguese Food, BUT… It’s Also Very Much«Overrated» In My Opinion. I would Probably Consider this place a «Tourist-Trap». Or A Place for Those Who Don’t Really Know What ReaL Good Authentic Portuguese Food Is, Or What It Should Taste Like. Yes, I Am Of Part Portuguese Descent & Grew-Up Eating Alot Of ReaL Portuguese Food. I’m no expert, But I Think I Know What’s Really Good & What’s Not, In My Experience. I’ve Tried The Portuguese Steak & Eggs, And I’m Sorry, I did now. The Round Steak was Very Tough, Over-Cooked & Rubbery. The Taste was«Bland» & The Portions for The«Over-Priced» Steak plate were Small. I also tried My friend’s Pulpo or Octopus & It was a bit Better than My Steak, But wasn’t nothing that Amazing really. I did like the Sauce it was drenched in though. The Atmosphere was Small, Somewhat Insulated & Cramped & Too Close to The Restrooms & A Bar. The Service Was So-So, The Waitress was knowledgable, the Male Food Server was Cold & Rude. I didn’t feel that«comfortable» Or Welcome there for Some reason. It Seemed abit«Impersonable» dining there. The Wait for the Food to come out was Long. So, I expected Better, But was disappointed, As I Had Hoped for a Better«Experience» At TA. I’m giving it two-Stars for now, And Maybe The«Benefit of the doubt» That I was wrong about My «First Impression» At This Somewhat«Overrated» Restaurant. Maybe, I’m Hoping The Food, The Staff & And The«Aura» Of TA Will Somehow«Magically» Change, Hopefully for The Better next time. Because if it doesn’t? Maybe the Next time I Visit, might Be The Last time I Visit TA.*

I had never been to a Portuguese restaurant so I had done some research on what I might want to order. I checked on Unilocal and everything kept coming back to the octopus. That it was the best thing on the menu and people would come back just for that. So I was delighted to hear one of the specials was Grilled Octopus. I ordered it and when I say it was probably the best thing I have ever eaten I am not exaggerating. I was worried it might be chewy but it was grilled to perfection. I cannot wait to go back but will be calling ahead to see if they have that on the menu.

TA’s is THEBEST Portuguese Restaurant on the South coast! If you’re Portuguese and miss mom’s or vavo’s home cooking you need to come here! Food is excellent! Staff is friendly and the owner takes the time to thank all his customers. I’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed. Don’t listen to the one and doners. This is the place to be if you love Portuguese food.

Fall River is not known to be a foodie destination. TA did nothing to dissuade me of that notion. The dehydrated rice and veggies were cooked well(you know the kind with the little shriveled up peas, the square pieces of carrot, and the tiny pieces of corn) but it was a little bland. My wife, who will eat anything, thought the powdered potatoes in the potatoe and kale soup were also a little bland. The frozen shrimp were in a sauce that did have a hint of spice. The french fries were on the soggy side. The rolls were stale. On a more positive note, the water was cold.

Well the beer is cold. The service was seriously lacking. Manny was our waiter maybe the poor bugger worked a double shift I don’t know. So we started off with the littlenecks as an appetizer. They were very good especially when I was sopping up the broth with the Portuguese rolls. Then we waited a very long time in a near empty restaurant for our entrée’s. We got the pork and potatoes which were average at best. We also got the strips of steak and potatoes which came in a dark garlic gravy which I would go back there for. I don’t think TA’s is your normal Portuguese restaurant it is a little different than most that I have been to. So if you are looking for more authentic I suggest trying somewhere else.

Came in today for Father’s Day after not having dined here for a few years. Here’s the rundown: — Classic Portuguese Restaurant in Fall River — Fantastic prices — Best Rabbit I’ve had anywhere — surprised it was a special and not on the menu every day — Octopus was easily some of the best I’ve had at any Portuguese restaurant which are notorious for overcooking octopus — Steaks were all a bit dry. Not sure why they were skimping on the molho(sauce), but it made for three disappointing steaks at this table of 8 — Shrimp Mozambique app was solid — Quejo Fresco was very good as were the Littlenecks — The big miss was the service. I’ve never been to any restaurant where the server wouldn’t help the runner/busboy run food from the kitchen especially if it’s busy and backed up. It was odd I’ll come back for Rabbit or Octopus.

Authentic, delicious, and pleasant! I went to Fall River with a friend on a foodie reconnaissance mission. A tip from a local brought us here, and we loved it! My octopus was the best I’d ever had, his porco alentejana was perfect, a Licor Beirao for dessert was a revelation. TA is authentic enough for a foodie, and«normal» enough for a less adventurous companion.

What a great surprise! My daughter and I came here after shopping for her bridal dress and loved it! Great atmosphere, food and prices. Please don’t ask me to pronounce or write what I had, I can’t but I will describe it! I’m a carb freak, so it started with Portuguese rolls all soft, lathered in butter, my mouths watering just remembering and a bottle of Portuguese white wine(only $ 15). I had Steak tips with shrimp in this delicious dark garlic sauce for my entrée, I could have licked the plate clean it was so good! My daughter had a traditional steak with a fried egg on top, she loved hers but I’m not a big egg fan . Rice pudding with lemon rind was dessert, I was a little disappointed in that, it was tasty but rather dry, I prefer more custard than rice. Next time I’ll try the flan! Will definitely be back, maybe after her next dress fitting!

My mother and I came here on a suggestion from the bridal store next door. Authentic Portuguese cuisine and an excellent waitstaff! I had the Bitoque, I asked for medium and came out well done, but nevertheless it was hot and delicious. My mother chose the Picadinhos de Carne e Camarão, beef tips and shrimp in a brown garlic gravy, and THAT dish was better than my own! All this served with some Aveleda wine(which was reasonably priced), and the rice pudding. My only complaint would be that the pudding was very dry, but still had great flavor. I hope to return soon to try some of the other delicious looking dinners!

Sorry, this was not a hit. We had a $ 25 gift certificate for this place, and I love Portuguese cuisine… I wasn’t impressed. We felt like 2nd rate customers from the moment we presented the gift certificate. The wait staff was incredibly slow, especially seeing as it was a Wednesday and there were maybe 4 tables between 2 waitresses? The biggest party was of 4… this isn’t rocket science. At the beginning of our meal we asked about a wine, she said she would double check on it. She didn’t remember the wine again until our main entrees arrived. I asked for a 2nd soda, seeing as wine never came… I got my 2nd soda during the middle of our main entrees, after the wine even. We asked for no lemon juice in the shrimp appetizer… we seemed to get extra lemon juice and several more lemons to squeeze into the app. There was a long wait for apps, and an even longer wait between apps and our actual dinner. We got desserts to go, and even this they couldn’t do properly. We asked for triple chocolate mousse and plain cheesecake. We got cheesecake and tiramisu… thanks but no thanks, neither of us like it and we didn’t realize it was incorrect until after we got home. Not worth the hassle, all set.

Thoroughly enjoyed my Bacalhau Assado, beautiful, sweet and salty codfish served as a whole filet with potatoes. My dining companions liked the Pork Alentejana, though the littlenecks were a bit dry, and a Portuguese Steak special substituting a nice Sirloin over the standard Rump cut. The starting course was a highlight. Chourico a Bombeiro presented in a pig shaped, ceramic serving dish, complete with a roasty fire burning below. The chourico are prepared by a small market down the street, and were so good I had to order 2, 1 for me, and one for the table. But the star of the show was our server. The waitstaff here is always good, this evening it was exceptionally fine. My selection from the unbelievably reasonable wine list was unavailable, and our expert waiter suggested a finer bottle and vintage, decanted it properly, and then insisted that I pay no more than my earlier choice. I only wish I had taken a photo of the label, because I would love to seek out another bottle or four. This is not a fancy place, and it doesn’t need to be. They serve a fine and honest rendering of local Portuguese favorites, and serve them well.
